Agreed. You will need a hoist of some sort to do it safely. That said, as long as the truck can roll, I have used garage rafters, a come-along and several straps before with good success... B

Here is another source and the fitment guide... http://www.jeeperz-creeperz.com/locking-pair-28spline-nissan-p-7483.html http://ruggedridgeoffroad.com/jeep-truck-locking-lock-out-hubs.php B

Apparently there is another player in the locking hub world... http://www.ruggedridgesales.com/vehicle/nissan/pathfinder/1998/Rugged-Ridge-PRD174.aspx B

Go ahead and email me the photos, I'll make sure they are hosted... Thanks, BTW. If they are shorter and you got lift out of them, they must be quite a bit stiffer?? B

PICTURES!!! NOW!!! Cool, congrats Bud!! B -
^ Exactly. Just bleed the system again, but flush it all the way and see where that gets you. There really isn't much else that could have gone wrong... B
-
I'm not too sure about that, I'd have to look in there again. It was really just a temporary measure to mount the stock bumper so I had turn signals, otherwise I would have machined a mount extension and thrown those stupid strips of metal away. This is how it is set up now, so I don't have to deal with it anymore... B
-
^that about covers it... B
-
Just to be clear, the brakes were fine, you changed the pads (front only?) and then it was squishy?? If so, x3 on the brake bleed and double check the calipers for proper mounting or movement. Inspect the brake lines for leaks also. Does the MC reservoir fluid level drop? B
-
What year? Have you looked in the down loadable Factory Service Manual (only for MPFI 1990+) pinned in the Garage Section? B
-
It could be the O2 sensor failing but the first thing I would do is check the ECU codes for fault codes. B
-
The three basics: gas, spark and air. We will assume it has air... Check for rotor spin as above and examine the cap and rotor. If all is well, remove a spark plug boot and put an old spark plug in it (or pull it) and set it with the end against clean metal and have someone crank the motor. You should get a spark... Use JR's test, it works and isn't that bad!! Has the fuel filter ever been changed/do you have fuel pressure? Can you hear the fuel pump?? Did you check the ECU codes to see if there are any faults? Write up is in the Garage/How To section. B
-
Well, lets hope it doesn't do it again... B

Cool, glad you got it together. Now just don't ever hit anything more stout than a shopping cart at anything faster than 5mph!! Yes, please take pictures and post them so they are in the same place. Many people have talked these brackets, what a pain they are to figure out and how weak the set up is but I do not recall the pictures being comprehensive. Anyone else, feel free to show what you did with the front bumper brackets also. B
-
I posted this elsewhere, but I'm not sure where... Remember, the stock Pathfinder pumper is very weak, and once you use these pathetic brackets, the bumper is purely an ornament... Here is a picture of the top view of the passenger side of a 2" lift, but it is the same thing. And a side view. I used the bolts to bend the brackets, it helped to add extra tension to the entire useless set up. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any additional questions. B

I know, it works and that's all that matters, but you have to admit it does sound horribly Red Green/ghetto fab... B

I know someone with a Mazda speed. I told him to quit with the mods and save up for a real car, or at least one worth modding... B

what are the real differences between se,le,xe
Precise1 replied to pathfinderfisherman's topic in General Forums
And heated seats, I believe, but the latter spanning the 93LE VS all others. Tuning suspension was SE only and perhaps disk brakes, yes. Never heard of an XE with leather interior either, but all the rest was so intermingled that these are the only distinctions... Ok, at least in the later WD21 years, the XE only had a single trip odometer, VS dual in the SE and maybe the LE. Definitely a selling point!! B -
Sorry to hear, but more common than you think. I patched that section of floor in my first 95 and this new one seems to have a weak place as well but I haven't messed with it since I got a custom exhaust. I'll be making sure it is sturdy this spring. The patching method is everything from formed sheet metal, fiberglass patch, welding in a new plate to baking trays with pot holders (don't ask!! ). B

Go to the Garage section and into the pinned Factory Service Manual Downloads thread and in one of the last posts you will find a link to the PDF. This will explain most of it, and search will dig up the rest. It's all pretty easy to take apart (6 cap screws, a snap ring at most and a tensioner/lock nut), but exploded views are critical to determining if everything is ok. If you have trouble getting the info, let me know and I will find/link it for you. B
-
LOL No, I hardly know everything, thanks for the thought though... What does your Factory Service Manual say on adjusting idle?? B
-
Exactly as My1Path said. Some have used the auto hubs for years and others have grenaded them right away. This is where the manual locking hubs are clearly superior, especially when you don't switch to 4x4 until you are in the ditch. Once again, 4 Wheel Parts has the Mile Marker manual hubs on sale for $82 for the next few days. B
-
The auto locking hubs have to come off (10 minutes) and the brake calipers also before you can remove the rotor, but that's it. A couple of hours and a tub of grease in the driveway and that is done. Better call back and make sure you know what he said needed attention though... B
-
I'm fairly certain the idle specs for the MPFI are 700-800 manual tranny and 750-850 AT. I have never had to adjust it before, so I'm no help there... B
-
Any maintenance records? What is the mileage? Have you run a carfax on it?? Not enough info to make a call IMHO. Both the 95xe's I bought were from back east, but not longer than a year. A few parts have a frosting of surface rust, but it isn't prevalent so if that is the case, no worries... Pathy's are rare down there? I'm up in the north bay area and they are a dime a dozen up here. Perhaps think about looking outside your local area? B
