If this is the vehicle you drive daily to work she can only get mad if you use it to date chicks. Your probably going to do it anyway, so do a good job of it. If fails and water gets in, your going to get an ear full. Finally engines are cheaper that child support.

I've got a '92 parts car in the yard, I've heard many negative things about autohubs. Outside of convenience manual seems the way to go. What is the life expectancy of manual hubs?

I'm almost like you, when I switch off the high beams one light has a delayed reaction before lighting up. This is my second switch from the JY.

Took hubs off and greased excessively, test drove but still sounds like hitting a carcass on the highway when reaching about 10mph. Took the guts out of the hubs little spring and out gear piece on the outside of snap ring. test drove and heard no "the-thump" sound in 1st gear. That makes me think auto hubs are shot. BTW. drive shaft on DS was engaged when wheel spins. I guess I will run rear wheel drive till I can come up with some manual hubs. Anything wrong with driving like that? What am I looking to spin for more hubs?

Sorry for not being on the board lately, my back problem is getting better. So far just therapy, no surgery. Anyway I felt so good Sunday I blazed a trail in the back yard. Hence my problem... Noticed yesterday everytime after reverse when going forward i hear a the-thump just one time. It even felt like hitting a carcass at 70, but this noise happens half-way thru the acceleration in 1st. Tonight the the-thump turned into a whirring sound. When turning off the road to inspect, the noise stopped before I could pull over. I plan to remove hubs and take the insides out and try again. I hope this will stop the noise and prove the problem is with the auto-hubs. Unless anyone thinks I should suspect something else... like transfer case :X My other question is... would the hubs be hot after driving home from work at freeway speeds if they were engaged? My hubs are not hot. I'm using this to assume the hubs are not engated. As always, your input is appreciated.

linky When living in North Carolina the wife and I went white water canoeing on an overnight trip. It was pretty neat, put off in north carolina and ended up north in Virginia. It was white water but not difficult. You just paddle backwards the whole trip. I've always wanted to go back, but November is too cold for that. Along the way there were some abandoned 4x4's rusting out in the river so there has to be trails. The National park we stayed at was primitive, the ranger came by at dusk to collect park fees. He showed up on a quad bike. There were no roads. I do want to go back, but April or early October would be the best times.

Rear door is pretty heavy. Replace door with a swing-out tailgate made of tubing. You said you were not a fan of cutting the top, this mod would leave interior exposed to the elements as well. How wide are your tires? Can you get performance you are looking for from tall narrow tires vs. wide tires?

As a late teen the step-dad always said... "change oil every 5k & change your oil filter every other oil change. Valvoline 10W40 is the best oil out there Fram makes the best oil filter." You didn't get to ask why, you just did what you were told. Granted there were only V8 350's & 318's that could be found in our yard in the late '80's To this day I still use Valvoline 10W30 and Fram oil filters, but do not know why outside of that what I was told to do. Now days oil and filter is changed every 3k b/c of manufacturer recommendations, but wonder if that might be an oil company conspiracy since dad only changed oil every 5k and filter every 10k and seemed to get by just fine.

Can you remove the glue without bending the roof. I tried to cut out a stock sunroof thinking I could re-use the pressed lip around the perimeter of the sunroof. The glue holding the lip to the sunroof mount was too strong and kept bending. Finally gave up.

Like very much. Will the skid have to be removed to change, or do you have access from the top? Changed my filter yesterday without removing the skid. Tried to put a rag over the starter, but not a good job to do from the top. noticed the rag was dry, but oil was falling to the pan. needless to say the starter was probably doused.

Forgive me for being anal about the smell. Did a remod on the bathroom couple of years ago. I put roofing tar paper on the floor then luon (sp?) on top of that for the tile surface. granted floor of the house will probably never see 80deg f. no smell and never even thought twice about it.

Might be speaking for myself, but I don't think I am. Pictures motivate sissys like me to try new things. No sarcasm. What is the model number of your relocation kit? I tried once but the guy at the parts store told me they don't make them for pathfinders. I know that's BS, but how can you argue if you don't know the part number.

I'm having crap luck with doctors. Friday a week ago I saw the Nuero Surgeon, He had me get another MRI, b/c the numbness in my leg didn't happen til after my first MRI. He said his nurse would call me Monday or Tuesday. I call nurse Tuesday and she said they got the MRI, but were waiting for the printed report from the MRI doctor. Call her Thursday left message were they planning on calling me or did I need appointment. She call yesterday and tells me they should have made me an appointment before i left for the 1st visit. wtf? She transfers me to scheduling and the chick gives me Sept 7 appointment. I told her I can't wait a month with a numb leg not even knowing what kind of option I've got. She say that the earliest I can get. So i told her send me back to the nurse, leave nurse another message if I have to wait a month after 1st visit I find new doctor. No returned call, so Monday will try to get the General Practitioner to get me appointment with the Surgeon who did back surgery on my Boss. Those are the guys that are kind of like Chiropractors but practice medicine with therapy? That sounds much better than surgery. I do need some professional opinions, but I've had two MRI's and don't know any more than I did a month ago. I pisses me off I pay all these bucks for premium health care and I can get just as good attention if I lay up in Charity (state run) hospital. Sorry to rant, but I feel much better now!

Harbor Freight had a creeper on sale for $16 bucks. Its pretty comfortable, the headrest adusts. Im laying on it typing away right now. the back aint getting better, but maybe now I can do few things underneath the pathy. Still need to bleed my brakes and change out my lug nuts.

linky Here's a post from a guy in Central America that converted to lpg. He didn't post pics of the fuel storage, but it looked like he stored the LPG in the cargo area. Sounds like a great idea. on the side of caution I wanna hear someone (preferably a NPORA dude) say they've done it and went the whole summer with no tar smell. MWS are you gonna be the lab rat?
