Need to find bigger injectors at a cheap price - impossible?
Kingman replied to 2milehi's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
You could try and find some VG30DETT injectors from a wrecked car or something. So you know the socket trick with the FPR too? -
Yes the chimer is in the driver's side foot kick panel and it's one of the most annoying things of life. I ripped mine out. It does not activate the door lights, that's the plunger sticking out below the body door latch.

Not many dyno numbers. Who cares about what a Pathfinder does on the dyno? It's still slow and gutless. And no, the stock Pathfinder exhaust sucks ass.
-
Took it wheelin'. Found some new kickass roads that lead to trails, and went everywhere everyone else did in 2WD and there was some gnarly stuff.
-
The larger cutaways drop it .1-.2. And they put out the same power.

Yeah so my front diff took a dump today....

Anyways, glad to see it was just a CV. That would seriously suck if that diff blew up. -

You know, go to almost any tire shop around your area. Watch them work. I can almost guarantee you that none of them use jack stands, only jacks identical to Andrew's. The Les Schwab I worked at was the same way, never had an issue... and neither has any of the stores in the area for as long as they've been open. I'd be more worried if it was one of those POS 1-ton weenie jacks, not the big 3-5 ton gear driven ones. I always use jack stands when I can if the vehicle is going to be off the ground for any length of time, pushed/pulled on, or I'm underneath it. Especially with a cheap weenie jack. I don't trust those things as far as I can throw them. -
New Pathfinder vs 1995 Pathfinder vs G35....
Kingman replied to mickyficky's topic in General Forums
Keep the Pathfinder, buy a G35. The newer Pathfinders aren't all that reliable anymore compared to the older gens. -
I know a few people that would like to steal your engine and swap it into an EF, EG, or EK hatch.
-
No change in fuel maps, just information for the TCU.
-
16,000LB cooler at least.
-
Wait a sec, you bore the VG33 block .60 over to get a VG34... not .30.
-
The only reason why I mention the Z31T automatic oil pump is because it flows around 25-30% more oil, has stronger gears, and the later the year of the car the better the design. Manual turbo cars have the same oil pump as the NAs. The VG33 pump flows more than enough oil though. The VG30DE and DETT rods are the same. Same with the VG30E and ET rods.
-
You use VG30DE/DETT rods to fit the VH45 wrist pin which also bolts right to the VG30/33 crank, or you can modify the VG33 rods. Best cheap VG34 build would be this: VG33 block bored, VG30DE/DETT rods, VH45 pistons, VG30 crank, VG33 heads with VG30 cams, 300ZX turbo AUTOMATIC oil pump. Also, don't post up a thread/question on Z31performance. You WILL be hounded, told to search, called an idiot, etc.

Someone on the boards made a 3.8L at one point in time and the block cracked. I've read that thread a few times, tons of good info. That's a private forum though so people that aren't members can't read threads.

"Setting torque wrench to tight!" Haha.
-
Lol he knows, we discussed it elsewhere. I was being mildly sarcastic and it confused him, which was pretty funny to me.
-
Set the engine to TDC, remove the 6 small bolts from the front of the crank pulley, re-align everything and bolt it back on.
-
Did some donuts and got airborne.

No, when the original deal was made between Nissan and Ford for the vans, Ford required that the engines being put in to the Mercury Villagers were non-interference. The guy I work for has a VG30 Villager, his timing belt let go getting on the highway about a month ago. No bent valves... do that with any standard VG and it will bend valves.
-
Correct, the inertia of the engine allows the valve and piston to connect. They barely hit, but the force of the engine bends the valve stem when the tip of the valve connects. OP: you can try a new timing belt, and then do a compression check. That'll tell you right off hand if there are any bent valves. If there are, all you'd need to do is have the valves replaced and you're good to go.
-
Rip out the stock garbage and run all new wires. Problem solved.
-
They hit under the force of the engine running, but not spinning crank and cams by hand. If I remember right, there's roughly 1/32" clearance between the piston and valve on a 9:1 VG engine.
