    High Idle

Make sure the throttle plate is closing all the way.
  2. Lol didn't see it was from 7 years ago!
  3. You might try brake standing it a tad to see if you can get it to replicate at a stop. Have someone under there watching and listening.
  4. Axles breaking shouldn't really be an issue. Mainly tire wear and a yeehaw on wet roads.
  5. Pretty sure they're all fine thread.
  6. Headlight switch or time to do the relay upgrade with new wiring.
  7. Diesel engines simply take more oil as it is, just the nature of the beast. There's a whole lot more stress going on inside a diesel than a gas engine. 6.5 quarts really isn't that surprising.
  8. If a lot of the vehicles you ran without O2 sensors were older OBDI, that's why there wasn't much difference in power. Newer OBDII systems freak unless the ECU is tuned to run without them. Post cat sensors don't do much other than inform the ECU that the cats are bad. The front ones do directly influence the fuel and timing maps.
  9. Yes. You don't need a press to change the races, just a punch and some even tapping with a hammer.
  10. Have you tried tapping on the relay under the hood when it won't start?
  11. Yeah its quite high. That's what I thought whenI skimmed through to see if there was anything special I'd need to do. "Do what now?! Alright folks..."
  12. Unfortunately yes the quote is wrong and bending valves is a very real and very common occurrence when the belt breaks. The oil pump is driven off the crank, so as long as that's spinning there will be oil pressure. With no oil pressure the valves still open a slight bit, not fully.
  13. If you follow the FSM you do. Tighten to 72-75ft/lbs then back off and adjust with a scale.
  14. Cool thanks man, I'll go grab one. I have a GM one and ground two tabs of like B said but it doesn't fit exactly right. It gets you by though.
  15. Having no first hand experience other than smoothing things out, I will say that Mr. 510 at www.vg30.com, MY1PATH, and Mitch at EPR are great people to talk to about this. Ferrara and a few other companies make 1mm oversized valves, the biggest you can buy. Hop on over to z31performance and read around on there as well.
  16. On my flight home I was going over in my head all the weird things my engine is doing. Then I thought to myself "you know, just because the timing marks all line up doesn't necessarily mean its really in time..." Crank key way. Duh! So tomorrow I'm going to tear the front down and have a look-see.
  17. Mitch is a smart dude but his business ethic sucks so beware if you contact him. He figured out how to spin a SOHC VG to 13,000RPM before it starves of oil - instead of the standard 6,500 with the factory cross drilled crank. Anyone that builds a SOHC needs one of his cranks...
  18. Almost always the valve cover gaskets leaking onto the exhaust manifolds. RMS or oil pan gasket if its dripping on to the y-pipe below the transmission. Many auto parts stores sell a dye you add to the oil that glows green under a blacklight, very handy stuff.
  19. Nowadays kinetic batteries are replacing multi-farad capacitors in audio systems. 100-150 farad packed into a little cube, they work much better.
  20. Ohhhhhhhhhh gotcha! Hell yeah man, when is it going to be done?
  21. Goodyear, Bando, Gates, Dayco, Mitsumoto, Sumitomo, etc. All good stuff. Stay away from the cheap Chinese garbage.
  22. Ordered more parts for it. Its going to be a busy week when I get home!
