  1. Finished putting back together the wiring harness I built for it. Swapped it in and it fired right up and purred like a kitten. I drove it around the block and to NAPA for more electrical tape. Now to pretty it back up and secure everything like it was. I am one happy camper! I sort of forgot about the alignment after I rebuilt everything in the front end. Needs one of those bad...
  2. Timing belts are always an issue and something to keep an eye on. Sounds like it slipped a tooth. If it hasn't been replaced, check it...
  3. Brake bias valve. It adjusts how much braking power is sent to the rear depending on the load weight.
  4. Look up Mr.510's thread on his cross linked set up. I've wheeled with him, the results are astounding.
  5. I'll take pictures some time, but I know a guy that has an '87 SE with manual windows.
  6. Pull the coil wire off the cap, ground it out, and have someone crank the engine. It'll spark if it's good.
  7. Lol my sis told me the other day she tried the tooth paste and it worked pretty well.
  8. Using sand paper destroys the UV protective layer. Sure it might make them shiny new again but the plastic it's self is worse off for it and will oxidize even faster. A good wax that chemically bonds to and eats corrosion/oxidization without harming the material works the best.
  9. White smoke is also completely unburned fuel, both gas and diesel. If some diesel got in there it won't burn at all, same with water or extremely crappy fuel.
  10. Yup. The plastic oxidizes and turns a nasty yellow, prone to leaking when the seal fails, and poorer beam control.
  11. Cut and solder or take a safety pin or small jewelers screw driver and pull the tab inside the main big harness plug to remove the wires from there. By doing it that way you can disconnect the injectors separately.
  12. Put a new BMC in it. Now to bleed... I was going to do the Chevy swap but I noticed it's only got two outs instead of three and it's likely too long for my intake set up so I decided against it.
  13. Ha. We actually have those here too, can even get retrofit ones that plug in like a standard tail light bulb. However for $8-11 (free shipping usually) for 15 meters of the things in any color you want, the novelty of plug and play goes away.
  14. Did the rear cargo light. I thought I had a bunch of under dash light housings from Z31s but I can't find them. Maybe I'll pull a few from Pathfinders and see which ones I can fit the most LEDs in.
  15. Next is doing the cargo light and adding some under the dash for footwell lightinf and maybe in the doors somewhere.
  16. Today I swapped the standard dome light for 15 LEDs. Stupid bright! Lights up the inside even in broad daylight. Laugh all you want about the white paint, but it even further brightens the light.
  17. My '88 SE has a warning for when the tire carrier isn't all the way closed. It's called rattling.
  18. The air cleaner is on and sealed perfectly tight, correct? The TBIs won't run or idle worth a damn without it. Brake light on the dash or the tail lights?
  19. The whole thing would be easier. Pull old, install new. Or pull old, tear both new and old apart, rebuild old with new sensor, and install.
