Why Are Springs So Expensive?!?!
01silvapathy replied to BigBikeMike's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I did take off a tad bit on the way bottom kinda where it screws into the body but its not even noticeable, unless you're crawling under the truck and happen to look up. -

No actually you DONT have to cut the fender flare...im pretty sure I would know since im running 33's and all. -
I dont know about those, but when I originally put on my lift I thought I was going to have the sfd on as well, and ordered some pro comp es 3000 shocks for the rear. They bolted up just fine, they were for a 2in or maybe even 4in lifted explorer but I had problems with getting my sfd here, so I put them on anyways. They work pretty dang well, except they are just a tad bit long, but id assume that they would be perfet for after I get my sfd on

Well you can get the best of both worlds if you ask me. I had the same issue as you do, being tight on cash and needing new tires. So what I wound up doing is keeping the stock wheels, and adding a 1.5in wheel spacer up front. This allows me to run a 285-75-16 (33x11.5) BFG AT. The spacers work out great they give the truck a whole new stance from the front. And the spacers were only like 70 bucks which is the price of one steelie with shipping. Dont let others fool you, THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH RUNNING A 33 ON THE AC LIFT. I had to do some trimming but a dremel and 20 minutes is all that took -
Uhhhh Greeeed

Adam..do you have an R50? No...thats what I thought

I got the filter and gasket in a package at autozone for 20 bucks, and used 4 quarts of Valvoline High Mileage 75k plus atf fluid at 4.99 a quart. So it was around 40 to 50 bucks. It took me about an hour of solid work to get it done. Also dont forget a can of brake cleaner, once you take off the pan there will a layer of thicker gunk on the bottom and once you spray it with brake cleaner it just comes right off, and a can of the stuff is like 3 bucks at most. Good luck man. Dont over tighten the bolts tho, they break trust me

Here is michiganave's sfd next to a stock pathy. Im pretty sure he is running the 2in lift coils with a 3in block in the rear and 3in in the front as well on 33x12.5 Mudds. Still a pretty big difference. Kinda hard to imagine a 4in sfd with 2in lift coils and 35x12.5's next to a stock pathy Just for comparison here is mine with 2in lift on 33's next to a stock pathy, next to a stock Xterra

I did this yesterday, only probelms I encountered was with a little pipe that runs in front of the pan, it makes it hard to get a ratchet in there, but its do able. Also do not over tighten the bolts, I managed to break one off while re installing. It does not leak now, but I will be repairing it when im back home.

Well I just realized that I forgot to update this thread and what happened with it. I did my reasearch and called around to a few different places to see what they would quote us. So me and my dad called the dealer and they stood by what they quoted and did the work for. So we then called Nissan North America and got into it with them. They said they would get their regional manager on the job, and that she would call the dealer and see what is going on then call us. A week later we had not gotten a call back, so we call them again, and Nissan North America was upset that the regional manager had not gotten back to us. Sure enough about an hour later the regional manager called us. We were refunded for the total price of the repair, every cent of it. We also received a letter of apology from the Dealership. So this goes to show if you keep after it, you will get what you want

They should work no problem, like previously stated, the only thing that I could see changing would be the mounting points -

Finally After Market Lower Links!
01silvapathy replied to 01silvapathy's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Well for one big reason they are alot stronger than the stock links. Another main advantage is that they have johnny joints which will help out with flexing. But what probably is the biggest advantage is that you can grease the joints. This means you will never need to replace the bushings again. They are also adjustable. I know that once my rear links finally wear out on me, im getting a set of these. -
So I was trollin around on Facebook a few minutes ago and saw that ruggedrocks now offers a set of aftermarket HD adjustable and greasable lower links for our pathy's Check the link yo! http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/rugged-rocks-hd-lower-rear-suspension-links-nissan-pathfinder-1996-2004-p-3885.html

Steel wheels are much stronger than aluminum ones, and are alot cheaper.
