Manitoba's no different. You can thank all the ricers thinking they're race cars drivers for these new laws... That's what happens when immature, uneducated children are given vehicles they can't handle and end up killing someone. I knew a guy last summer who totally destroyed his car after hitting a bump on the road at 160km/h. Lost his license for five years, car got crushed... Luckily, no one got hurt but he should never be allowed to drive again. Triple the speed limit is just plain stupid...

Weaksauce... Does anyone know of any other options? I'm kinda curious...

For the turbo I'd contact Tyler (tmorgan). In all honesty, you'd be better off going with a supercharger kit because it's less work and considerably less expensive. Unless you want considerable power gains, in which case custom is your only option. As for exhaust, I'm repeating what's already been posted. Go to a local muffler shop and see what kind of custom set-up can be offered.

Toyo Open Country M/T FTMFW!

That's unique and all... But talk about a huge compromise in structural integrity! I'd be inclined to do that to a SUV but have some kind of roll protection built (like a Jeep).
-
Any confirmation on that?

This is a dark day on NPORA... Jared, you were too young to go. You will be missed. Rest in peace.

You're already with the cool kids... You own a R50!

To that I say f*ck 'em!

Cool! That's a long way from home. Hope you're likin' it.

Who wants a set of aftermarket suspension links?

Very nice! Where abouts are you located? I don't recognize the plate but the writing looks like Arabic. UAE, perhaps?

Good stuff. I see he's rollin' the Toyos. Noice.

Locking Hub Install With Pictures
tekazgtr1984 replied to Oregonian's topic in R50 FAQ's & Pinned Topics
Yup, this appears to be the case for the ATX14A transfer case. It's fair to say this transfer case offers a more AWD set-up than the TX-10, as All-mode can engage on its own depending on road conditions (I believe that's in Auto mode). This means that those clutches in the transfer case can engage even when 4HI isn't selected, and power can be sent to the front wheels. For that reason, the ATX14A requires continuous lubrication, as mentioned by fleurys. This is unlike the TX-10 transfer case. With the OEM flanges (always locked) and the transfer case in 2HI, only the rear wheels are being sent power. Even so, the driveshaft and CV axles are still moving in relation to the front tires moving. With the Warn hubs, the hubs can be unlocked and that hardware no longer moves relative to the front tires moving. Just to reiterate, your All-mode system differs significantly from that of the lever-system transfer case. -
And you're more of an expert on this kind of thing than me. Maybe it's high time I look for a junked H233B axle with discs...

Trail-Gear Rock Sliders On Wd21
tekazgtr1984 replied to SteeevO's topic in Solid Axle Swaps, Hardcore Custom Fab
Looks awesome! Any plans to fab those for the R50? -
Yhah, I'd love to sport a set of those all the way around. Well, the axleshafts are different. The backing plates should mount up the same regardless of the spline count.
-
Thanks! I'll do that. That's dynamite!
-
AC offers one? I ordered mine through an eBay autoparts shop. Learned the problem isn't the kit; rather my truck. Although I am working on a way to make it work. As for the AC CV axles, I love 'em! I've wheeled mine a few times (pretty hard, I might add) and have put almost 10,000km on 'em. As for the boots, I sprayed 'em with silicone spray before installation. I'm guessing that helped.
-
I don't see why not. It's the same rear axle...
-
X2, X2, X2!!! I'm gonna source a rear WD21 axle with discs and see if I can find a hydraulic press to use.
-
Okay, I need to clarify this. It's not a matter of using the 31-spline shafts. Rather, it's about pressing out the backing plates out of the WD21 axle shafts and then pressing them into the R50 ones. Am I coming to the right conclusion based on what I read on that write-up?
-
So... This swap is possible on the R50?
-
Excellent thread, Andrew. Props for putting in a lot of time and tons of useful information! Let's hope admin pins this topic.

With your endorsement, I am more inclined to think this is a good mod. Hopefully I have an extra grand lying around at some point... Aside from rock-crawling, I take it these 3.7:1 gears are just all around good for any type of incline requiring slow speed but ample torque. I can think of a few places where this type of approach is the only option. These badboys teamed up with ARB air lockers and some Toyo M/T tires would make for a pretty versatile R50!
