I'd say PPG's Aquapel works better and longer than Rain-X.

My R50 had the same issue with its harmonic balancer. The rubber insert was severely deteriorated. It may be rare but it is possible.

That's right, XJ and ZJ coils should work for the R50. I think this is a better option than spacers, mostly because you can put in some serious long-travel hardware for some dirty flex!!!

Yeah, I'm sure someone on here has done this upgrade. I'm planning on this but not sure when for multiple reasons. AC sells an electric fan for the VG33E but I'm pretty sure there are several options out there. The OEM fan is quite a cumbersome annoyance, if you ask me. Back to the thread topic, though. I replaced my harmonic balancer last spring because it was pretty worn out. I'm not sure why or how a belt would come off due to it being worn out but I'd say replace it and you should be fine. Also, make sure to check the tension of your belts after installing new ones, and then again after starting up the engine. It never hurts to be double-check.

Keep us posted on plans to do a Titan rear disc conversion. I tinkered with that idea last fall but was shot down for it being "too hard to do." F*ck that noise... You're running ~32" tires so with the SE gears (4.636:1) you should still have considerable response from the engine. Any plans to produce more SFDs?

Haven't ever heard of that happening but I guess anything's possible. Get a new one and you should be good to go.

Good find! Definitely cheaper than the ARB locker. This with a Desert Runner LSD for the H233B in the rear would be a mean combination.

Having put some actual research into this, you're absolutely right. Both a drop bracket and adjustable jog panhard rod would be the ultimate set-up for anyone going with a SFD.

Thanks! I was pretty sure it would be reasonable to do but I wanted to be sure before spending the money on these only to have to kaibosh the whole idea. To that end, though, I know exactly what I'll be running for wheels and tires post-SFD. Now let's just hope the rest works...

Really? I think panhard rod with an adjustable job would be way better than a drop bracket, IMO.

Yeah, they'll fit any R50 because all the door windows were the same from '96-'04. If they come off without a hitch, they're yours. My kit didn't include any U-shaped clips. Maybe I got hooped by AVS? In any case, I should've probably used some clear silicone to help the adhesive set better. I think I'm just going to remove them and be done with them. Thanks for the assistance everyone!

Sweet! Please do let us know how install went. I'm definitely planning on air lockers both front and rear in the future. To that end, you've got me interested in upgraded tie-rod and tie-rod ends.

Scooped up a set of AVS in-channel ventshades for dirt-cheap for my R50 and they installed easily and looked quite good. However, due to either not setting properly or poor engineering on AVS's part, they're just not working out as I hoped they would. My driver's side window goes down nice but comes up crooked. The rear passenger's side window goes down fine but comes up only to hit the ventshade's outer portion. Therefore, I'm hoping to simply remove and chuck 'em. I'm guessing I'll need a heat gun to allow the adhesive to warm up to ensure easy removal without damaging the window channels. Before I go through with this, though, I thought I'd see if anyone has maybe already done/tried this. Thanks!

The kit requires cutting into the subframe to properly install some of the hardware for the snorkel to work as it is designed. Epic fail, IMO.

With the lift coils, the ride really stiffens up in terms of rear sway. I took my rear sway bar out and sway/roll felt virtually the same as when they were installed. Also, you'll be able to enjoy more flex with those removed.
