  1. VG33 bored to fit Q45 pistons = VG34. I talked to Chuck from 300+ and he said he was swamped with stuff to do so he wouldn't be able to get one built for me in time
  2. Also, the piping wasn't a flush fit. Most likely bent piping or incorrectly bent pipes or welds since I had trouble lining up the passenger side downpipe. All I have is my phone camera.... I left my camera batteries in NissanNut's pathfinder during our last wheeling trip....
  3. So, in other words, the clearance issue I'm having is the norm with these headers?
  4. So the VG30 pump doesn't fit on it?
  5. Also, the valve covert bolts tend to work themselves loose causing them to leak oil. Just tighten them up with a screw driver and that'll fix it.
  6. ooh that doesn't look so good. Are the cylinder walls scored any? On the case with the water pump, I thought the VG30 water pump would fit on it unless there was a change between early model VG30Es.
  7. Yeah, I do. The header flange is recessed. Could that be why? The pipes of the flange stick out maybe an 1/8th of an inch so only a circle is contacting the gasket and head itself.
  8. I got mine half way installed. I was wondering if yall had clearance problems. My driverside header sits real close to the frame. I got about maybe less than 1/2 inch of clearance.
  9. the snout is actually longer and thicker in diameter. The VG33 still retains the same stroke as the VG30.
  10. Yeah I replaced them like 6 years back with z studs.
  11. Found out that the stealership boogered up the broken stud and used regular nuts instead of OEM.... gayness.
  12. Well, seeing how the 2wd exhaust doesn't work in the conversion, I figure it's time to throw in the thorleys early on. Would it be best to replace all the studs with new ones? I replaced them years back...
  13. Yeah, I thought they were going to merge in early '08. so far nothing yet. Anyhow, I vote for XM because I love the DJs that air on 81 and 82. BPM and the System. If you like radio talk shows, like Playboy and Howard Stern then Sirius is for you. Also, Sirius has NFL while XM has College. It's really up to your listening preferences.
  14. You will have to remove the upper intake to get to the driver valve cover. Upper intake = Plenum... I just reused my gasket. You may just buy a new one, but mine was reusable.
  15. probably an hour. I've done it before Mind you, I have a 3" body lift and lots of room.
  16. Year there are two squirters. A long time ago, I found the reason why the rear one didnt work was becuase it was stuffed full of sugar ants. Could be that the pump is out.
  17. the fill plugg is on the backside of the case behind the front output.
  18. gimme 2k and i'll do it for you! I just got done with mine! It's cake stuff for me!
  19. Kind of strange. I've never heard or seen a leaking transfer case before. What you could do is clean up the mess, and drive it around the block and see where it is leaking from. That way you can better pinpoint exactly. The whole case is sealed unless it was serviced sometime and poorly sealed. Might check to to see if any of the bolts are loose. The front of the case is leaked by a plate but there is a seal around the input shaft. Regardless, I have never seen a t-case leak.
  20. Where's the BS flag? lol wait until you smack it hard!
  21. automatic or manual? hard to tell from the pictures since they're sooooo small.
  22. Actually, Nissan didn't change until the gen 2 xterras/frontiers because of a different engine platform. The picture you see is off my 93 Pathfinder. I'm using a 2wd oil pan from a turbo z31 so I don't have that deep offset sump getting in the way. Reason I swapped pan was because my front diff on the Dana 44 was hitting the oil pan under full compression. I'm hoping my engine doesn't starve on deep descends.... enough with the post jack. How is the tranny removal going?
  23. I've never had a problem with removing it so far. I'm about to do another t-belt change pretty soon. FSM says... 11. remove crankshaft pulley bolt. 12. remove crankshaft pulley with a suitable puller. 13. remove front upper and lower timing belt covers. so yea, remove it as once piece.
  24. Yeah, the reason being why you're NOT suppose to remove the pulley from the balancer is because there are people out there that don't mark the position of the pulley before they remove it and install it wrong. edit: also, there are people who don't use a FSM and go at it like myself. hehehe. Makes learning oh so fun!
