  1. Cool... pinkman and the master mechanic are in the house ! congrat guys..
  2. If your are interessted with a beefier and stronger missing link, I sell them ( I call them control arm crosslinks)... http://www.4x4design.com/Pathfinder_R50_96-04.html
  3. You did not say if it was for the trail or the street.. personnaly, if it was for trail I would go R50 obviously for the solid axle at the back and strong 2.6:1 planetary Transfer case... Not having a frame is not , in my opinion, an argument of a bad trail rig.. (just look at some jeep xj outthere..) For the street, I would definitely go R51. More space, more engine, better looking (my taste) and probably more confortable.. Here you have it ! S.
  4. The links are DONE ! They are still a bit ugly and need some scotchbright to a better polish... No problem as they will be my set. But you can expect flawless links for the set number 2 and over.... Man this one took forever... Still waiting on final price from my machinist. I will show more pictures comparing the oem one with them and also a small video of the truck droping on them... this will be good Stay tuned...
  5. even with a sas, you won't make it to the top of the same hill.... lock it... you'll see...
  6. The price is not set yet... but I can tell you that they are costing me more than I thought they would ... :-( The problem is with machining... machining 1 set vs 4 or 5 is not at all the same... maybe I should do a pre-order survey.... who is interested in buying these considering they would be under 300$ (for the lowers) and probably 250 for the uppers ?? These are not the final price but will not be far... put you name if you are : 1- 2- 3- 4- 5-
  7. I'm surprised your manual hub did not take the hit instead of your cv... technically, it should have been like this... maybe your cv was already on it's way out.... I guess it's time for you to weld the front...
  8. Here's a good update... After many tries , I finally found a good shop for the machining that I feel I can trust. The status is now that I have to left tap the other end ( I received my LH tap) and to install the other uhmw skid... almost done..! (finally!)
  9. here's my contribution : skidplates, re-inforced missing links, trailing arms, and more... http://www.4x4design.com S.
  10. have a look here.... http://www.4x4design.com/Pathfinder_R50_96-04.html no more plate removing for oil change ...
  11. . have a look here : http://www.courtesyparts.com/pathfinder-parts-r50-1996-2004/genuine-nissan-parts/power-train/349-auto-transmission-control-device/-c-4700_4701_4769_4792.html
  12. Thanks everyone... I have enough info to go ahead with aftermarket instead of oem... I,m still gonna go with oem for the grease seal just because of my previous nightmares with aftermarket diff seals that leaked bad.... but I guess with maintenance the bearing will be ok... It was my mistake really... in 2.5 years of trail I had never serviced the bearings... just did not know.... so they are starting to growl on one side... lesson learned... Tks. !
  13. I need to redo my wheel bearings on my pathy and have decided to redo it inner and outer at the same time. The price of the oem nissan would bring me around 250 for all 4 bearings.... But there is also generic brand like KOYO and F.A.G that would bring the price to about 60$ for all 4. Thats a BIG change and asking your opinions based on experience... My truck is a keeper, so I,m not looking for lesser quality than oem.... but cannot know if it is as good or not. Anyone out there that changed their wheel bearing with KOYO or F.A.G bearings or even other ones than oem ? what was the results, the fit etc... any comments are welcomed... Thanks S.
  14. I know the search engine is not the best around, but a user here gave a nice way of finding stuff... in google type this : "ball joint" site:npora.ipbhost.com You will get all the results with the words <ball joints> together... and if you look at the 3rd result, you will get all the info you need... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=23327
  15. It's unbelievable the amount of people that are full of BS***... I'm on my third and last guy to get a quote on having these and other parts done. The other 2 either wanted an insane ammount of money or never got back to me... After this last guy, if it does not work, I will do them myself... Hopefully this week, _something_ will happen !.... S.
  16. can you briefly explain how you find these numbers (80%) ??
  17. I have what you need...and it does not compare with what 4x4parts has... click on my signature.
  18. don't cry.. I bought my springs at 4x4parts also, and after everything from currency conversion and broker's fee and shipping, my springs cost me 640$ CAD.... so you have it good.,..
  19. ok, nothing very big, just a new end for the link. Went with square end instead of round just for the sake of machining. This should be easier on the wallet as only straight cut needs to be done instead of a milling job.. I,m meeting tomorrow with a machinist that hopefully will not want my shirt on top of all my money to do them. I,m also giving him the half-shaft spacers and strut spacers to give me a quote on... The price is going up fast... but they'll be quality and rugged pieces... Once I'm all done with the final price that they cost me, I shall have a better idea of what will be the final one for all.
  20. http://www.fastenal.com/web/products/detail.ex?sku=11113281 better than 18$, but still 13$ each...
  21. change the boots of the cv for the thermoplastic ones from rockford. you won`t have anymore cracking and ripping boots from then on...
  22. hahaha.. what's a good deal for you ? I'll tell you if it's possible....
