  1. lol, ill be selling them most likely.
  2. ok, am getting ready to install this sucker to help keep my a/c cold in this ridiculous heat. Was wondering if I can use the stock temperature sender to tell the electric fan control when to turn off and on? could I just splice into that instead of using a radiator probe?
  3. there are no aftermarket rads for this truck. you can buy ones that are all aluminum instead of aluminum and plastic, but it doesnt help cooling AFAIK. If its just a clogged rad, you can pick one up for about 100 bucks and change it yourself. Although, I still say that its the shops responsibility.
  4. how exactly do you bend a spindle?
  5. Pics of the Rancho and Rough Countries side by side What do you guys think? The angles look pretty similar yes?
  6. Mine just clipped out, pushed in a release catch and pop. is the catch broken off or anything?
  7. im not near my chiltons or FSM so idk if there is anything in there showing where the gauge should be. maybe someone else on here can check. AFAIK most cars should be running at less than half of the temp gauge, and mechanics should know that.
  8. i would disagree that 1/2 to 3/4 is normal! When I used to go to a mechanic they guy always always told me that if it went over 1/2 bring it back immediately. I think most people on here would agree that 1/2 and less is normal.
  9. well im replacing mine with an electric taurus fan, need to get the controllor. i would think its supposed to come on after it heats to 185, or if the A/C is on. but idk
  10. oh, yeah mine just stays on.
  11. glad im not the only one who trolls through cardomain looking for cool mods.
  12. yeah, mine has the 1/2 drum, 1/2 disk thing too. the drum part is just for the handbrake.
  13. actually, my fan kicks on right at start up. has always done that....
  14. haha, did you see that on car domain too?
  15. have them burp it. You paid $400 bucks for them to do your cooling system...which they seem to have not done correctly. Shouldnt cost you a cent more to have them fix what they were supposed to do in the first place. If you mess with it now they could claim that you were the one who screwed it up and may end up charging you. my .02cents
  16. wind resistance is a big factor too. I took off my roof basket/lights the other day and am seeing 18.5-19 mpg again. With it on it was 15-16. The basket itself only weighs 13lbs, with lights probably a total of 25.
  17. That doesnt make any sense. If it is a 175 then it opens at 175. That means the coolant is flowing through your engine cooling it down. Why would it continue to heat up after the thermo opens? Am I misunderstanding something? Mine has been doing this too, although, Im in AZ and its been 112F + here the last week or so. Goes over the halfway if I use my A/C. x2. Although I just burped mine and it had no effect. I'm thinking my thermo is not opening all the way. Gonna replace it with a 170 due to the climate here. As you had the work done at a shop just take it back and tell them to fix it.
  18. how much of a mpg boost did you get? It sounds great, think i'm going to copy you. lol
  19. yeah, ive got the mounted fogs too. pics of your interior?
  20. what are these "unique features"? check the connections of the wires to the foglamps themselves, mine are a bit loose and sometimes stop working.
  21. sigh, didnt think so. lol
  22. cleaned o2 sensor contacts and the code went away. fuel leak has increased, and I dont have a piece of hose long enough to replace it. To get to it I may have to take the carpet in the back out to access that little door over the tank. Or maybe just take it to a mech. Does anyone know an easier way to replace these hoses?
  23. my 91 is about 3000 at 70-75 too.
  24. do you watch Rumpole of the Bailey?? Its pretty easy doing the cooler. I mounted mine in front of the radiator with the stick mounts. I actually attached it to the A/C condensor as it has larger holes for the plastic things to go through. Plus that way I could remove the radiator if I needed without messing with the tranny cooler.
