Yep, I had some issues with getting the rear bolts to line up, but it worked out in the end...MUCH easier with my buddy there. TN is a redneck state...no lift restrictions (that are enforced.) LOL

Yea man, the 40 series is way loud and ricey on these rigs. 60 series was designed specifically for the ricer that wants a flowmaster... Youtube has some great sound bits of Nissan's with different mufflers...

Hey bud, welcome to the forum... I do not have a 98, but it should not be much different either way. The holes are probably either nutserts or some kind of "slip over" mount for the screw/bolt to go through when the flares are mounted to the vic. You shouldnt* have an issue with them being open, but without seeing it, it willb e hard to answer. Can you snap and post a pic? Rust shouldnt* increase. Again, we need to see it. Silicone would work, or some weld/body filler/paint to match if it was going to permanent. On the WD21, the front valance or "flare" is bolted to the bumper, radiator support and to the fenders. Its a PITA to get off, (well it was on mine.) but reveals a bunch of ugly if taken off. Good luck bro.

Yea man, its relatively simple. I posted a crap load of pics on my site covering most of the process. I had a buddy, but it is totally doable by oneself like BoneZ advised. If I lived on your island I would come help! And mine is just a good truck, who really decides what is better? Not me...I can see things on nearly EVERY members rig that I wish I had on mine...its just a preference thing dude. I wish mine said Terrano on the back, because nobody has that...haha

Depends on what you want. If you are looking to just go 1-3 inches, generally speaking it shouldn't break the bank too bad. Anything more and you are looking at drive-line angles...and that is where it gets expensive. From my experience with XJ's (uni-body Jeep Cherokee), a 3 inch lift will still be manageable on the daily driver routine. More than that, unless you spend some serious money...it can be unsafe on the road. As for a vehicle specific lift for your 97, 4x4parts.com list's some lifts that will provide 2 inches, allowing 31 inch tires on 3.75 backspaced wheels. Looks like its just a coil swap, and maybe shocks. Check in the R50 part of the site for exact specs, there may be a JGC style lift available for your rig.

I agree, tune up first. It is amazing what a simple plug/wire/cap/rotor change will do. Techron is good stuff, and I have had good experiences with Seafoam, introduced via the vacuum system. Service all of your fluids, especially your transmission. Cone filters are up for debate, but a properly installed higher than normal flow exhaust is complimented by a high flow intake. (Same air in, same out.) The idea regarding the GM muffler is a good one. And you would not attract bacon as he already stated. (Although the only times I have ever stopped someone for loud exhaust was when they were acting stupid, not just the noise.) Painting your wheels makes a HUGE difference. As for styling, make it your own, and enjoy it...
