yah i second the paint job...looks great! -
yah he for sure got my vote back for TOTM and has my vote for TOTY the sickest set-up ive seen
-
It felt just as safe as when it was stock. Just make sure that when you get all your parts, to get new shocks too. Even though the OME springs dont lift it as much as the AC springs, you will still need longer shocks otherwise they will be maxed out.
-
Yah those springs are definitely messed up. I think i would try and get the axle straight first with a new panhard rod. Then install new springs right after you get the axle fixed. I would recommend OME springs if your not looking for lots of lift, because AC will raise the rear a decent amount until it settles. I drove around on mine with just the rear lifted for 2 weeks until i got around to getting the front done. Order all your parts first then finish the job at once to get her back on the road Oh and check into bushing like other members have recommended

hey hows it going?
Do you have your lift installed? or are you looking more into it?

Bent rear shock mount?
Phantom01Pathfinder replied to Phantom01Pathfinder's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Is it possible that you could take a pic of your shock mounts when you get a chance? id like to see a good comparison... I know some ppl will think im crazy for checking this out...but this really questions me... Thanks -
Ok, So i noticed today that my passenger rear bottom shock mount looks bent. But whats funny is that from the ground to the center of the bolt on both passenger and driver side bottom mounts it measures 8 3/8". Measured from flat concrete in my garage. Heres a pic of the rear Driver side to me the bottom of the mount looks level with the ground... Passenger side to me the mount looks bent... the bolt also is angled more towards the ground compared to the driver side. I know the pics are the greatest but does it look funny to you? I think the bolt looks bent in this last pic How can it look bent but the measurements are the same? and is that a good way to take a measurement?? Am I going crazy or can somebody confirm this for me with their 01+ Pathy...Cuz i do believe earlier generations have reverse shock mounts... thanks Keep the laughing to a minimum

Funny you mention this. Recently i helped my girlfriends dad move some heavy equipment and wood (not a boat, but it was heavy). My AC springs did great, they can definately handle more weight then factory. it was sagging in the rear tho because i filled it with so much wood, i might have been over capacity and i was towing a trailer Over all i think the AC springs handle extra capacity very well

I helped my girlfriends dad move steel and woodworking equipment and supplies from michigan to indiana... the pathy was loaded down with hundreds of pounds of wood in the back and steel tables in the trailer (5'x10') i was towing. i was surprised how much the rear springs compressed when it was fully loaded. my pathy looked tiny compared to the 1 ton chevy dually with a 18' trailer it was towing, it was a 2.5hrs there, 2hrs loading, and 2.5hrs back...and it was a blast!! -
Another Pathy with strut rot
Phantom01Pathfinder replied to pathfounder's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
What you'll do is take it in, and wait a while for them to fix it, and you'll get it back. Ive heard of waiting periods from weeks to months. Its a real shame to see that much rust under your pathy. I thought mine was bad... good luck -
i want! i want!! so what are you looking at for production time?
-
haha i couldnt have said it better myself

Ive got black procomp steel wheels...16" with 3.75bs and they clear my warn hubs perfectly. wheels were almost $80 each and got a set of goodyear duratracs for $155 a piece. i am also in the market for a roof rack for my matching fullsize spare... check out my pathy and upgrades...

Nicely done!

Fleurys is correct. You do need the snap ring. The shaft will shift back and forth if the snap ring is not installed...

It sounds like you have lots of fab experience Keep us all posted on updates and we love pictures!!

Lift, wheels and tires...check! Pathy 98% complete.
Phantom01Pathfinder replied to Finkle's topic in General Forums
the lift definately give it a good stance -
I am thinking because it is not a safety issue. I am sure there are tons of other engines with the same problems. If it doesnt involve bodily harm, then they are not going to try to fix the issue. At least thats how I look at it... There has been reports of crashes due to the strut tower housing failing...

So i dropped my pathy off on thursday morning for the recall. Waited all day patiently for the dealer to call me to tell me what was going on. Found out Friday morning that all they had to do was the level 1 underbody sealant coating. Picked her up today and am soooo happy everything worked out well . I had a feeling it was going to be ok after i saw the 3 other pathys in the dealer lot that had holes rusted all the way through. One actually was leaning real bad on the drivers side... Now time to invest in some lockers and sliders!!!
