compatability between r50 and fronteir
Phantom01Pathfinder replied to smoke's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
As will I -
Sorry for the super late reply...brake dust is minimal and so is the noise. If i have the radio off and the windows down you can hear them when applying the brakes, but having the radio off is rare, lol. And if you have aggressive tires you wont hear it at all...

yep no button anywhere inside the truck...ive searched for a long time trying to find a button also...i believe only the key opens the rear glass...

if you want to save some cash and get cheaper shocks i would recommend that. I bought 2 procomp ES3000 shocks online for the price of 1 bilstein. had to modify the eyelet mount to install but overall i saved about $45.

Phantom01Pathfinder replied to Chicano2005's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
search here on the forum for the topic regarding this issue...Pezzy started it and others have talked about their experiences with the recall. check it out before u take it in if thats the route u decide...because if the dealer thanks its unsafe to drive they will hold ur pathy until it gets fixed...if its even repairable -
recalled FRONTIER not pathfinder?
Phantom01Pathfinder replied to Chicano2005's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
haha i ran into a similar situation, but it was the opposite. The dealer told me i was not affected, and Nissan North America told me i was affected. And to take it to the nearest dealer for service. So i guess i need to take it to the dealer that told me i was not affected to get it looked at... it is for pathfinders...find out who you talked to at NONA and talk to someone else -
Yah that would be awesome! I am hoping to get there pretty early. Do you have a tally on who is for sure going?

Acutally I live in northwest Indiana (Chesterton) but I am only about 30min from Indiana/Michigan border and Indiana/Illnois border too. I wont be able to make it Friday because of work, but I will arrive early Saturday morning. If anybody wants to meet up early Saturday to head down, Ive got no problem with that

His 2000 has the VG motor not the VQ... Maybe general maintenance should be your first concern like Tungsten said...

I dont believe that is what he is saying. I think E34R1017 means that its the same process to install new parts as it is old parts. You dont HAVE to get new struts, but i would highly recommend it if you got the originals. you should have left over money too if you budget is $3000. i spent about $2100 for everything, struts, lift coils (AC lift), OEM hardware, wheels, tires, WARN manual locking hubs and i think thats it. i installed the back with a friend and had my mechanic do the front coils... so you can use the extra cash for CV's (because 1 is eventually going to fail), skids, maybe rockrails?

Ive read somewhere that we are limited to 105mph...personally i have only got mine up to 100mph

Later R50 headlights on an early R50
Phantom01Pathfinder replied to Iceman2989's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I believe you would have to change out the whole front clip also. When i look at the front of earlier R50's and later R50's i notice slight differences between them. -
well i completed my passanger side CV replacement a while ago...time to do the driver side soon. noticed today that its torn... i havent decided yet whether or not im going to buy a whole new shaft or just replace the boots yet...the boot isnt completely broken like what happened on the passanger side...

2 days ago i went to my dealer to find out if my pathy was affected. They said they knew nothing about a recall. I was shocked. So yesterday i showed them the recall info (i printed off all the info from the government site) and they ran my VIN and said i wasnt affected. Does anybody else find this fishy? lol. I called Nissan North America many times but waited on hold forever...so im just going to keep calling...

Phantom01Pathfinder replied to Phantom01Pathfinder's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Thanks! yah I wasnt really looking for a BMW, but it was cheap, and had low miles for a '97 and i bought it from a friend, so i know it was taken care of. (for the most part!) Got a new gas cap for a EVAP leak code, then do an oil change soon, and replace a fog light, other than that its all good! -
