  1. depends on what tranny you have and if it's 4wd or 2 but anywhere from 4.5pts to 8 3/8pts (per Haynes 1-3) and it needs to be GL4 not GL5... there is a diffenrence...
  2. maybe time for fluid change. you could assess the condition of the old oil and see....

    OOOPS

please do. i need replacements for the back too..
  4. These trucks are only good for about 18mpg (about 7.64km/liter?). I came up with about 3km/L and thusly 33.3L/100km
  5. even in neutral, drive shaft and rear diff will turn if the tk is rolling. If you have four stands you could prop under the chassis and then inspect, etc...
  6. My 89 didn't but my 94 does have 2 plug tools. The lug wrench is also the cranck handle for the jack...
  7. Apparently shoulders weren't a part of the "Trail Rated" testing.
  8. well, my prob is somewhat similar but not really and I just didn't feel like starting another breaks thread so here it goes: I was driving down the highway yesterday when all of a sudden my tk started to feel weard and pull to the left a bit. I pulled over because I actually thought that my right front tire was going down but that was not the case. I felt the wheels and the driver's front was super hot. I got of the freeway and drove slowly to a preffered location. Parked the tk and let the wheels cool off. I sure didn't have any tools. Then I just couldn't help myself and wheeled a bit and then drove home checking the wheels for heat often. Well, the truck quit pulling and the wheels stayed relatively the same (all 4) but still kinda hot. Earlier this evening I pulled the wheels off and the fronts spin semi-normal. I did go wheeling a few weeks ago and did some "swimming" so there is some grit, but the driver's front is not spinning as freely. The calipers are not stuck as I thought originally. Any ideas??? While searching, I came across the post about the slide pins so I am going to look into that next few days but any other ideas would be appreciated. I have split cv boots too but right now just looking for a quick fix and was hoping to do major work and some mods this winter.. thanx
  9. so, were you able to remove it finally? I have the same prob and the 22mm is stripped and I haven't tried since then but the winter is coming and I'll have to get on it.
  10. Hey I just noticed that my outer boots on both sides are torn. I read related posts but nobody talked about cleaning the joints out. Is there a good way to do that? before I regrease 'em. Any ideas on a cost of new axles? and where can I find replacement boots?
  11. hey now mr94, I gave him a link...it's all good...
  12. Are you sure you didn't spill any oil on something that gets hot? Oh man, it's been 3k since the change and it still does it, so i don't think it's spillage. but am waiting for results of your fluid change... clutch smell is kinda like the breaks but more burnt and a bit stronger...
  13. ACE is the place. i bet you can find one there... for now, a bolt will work just fine too.
  14. i smell some kinda heavy oil smell too. i did the change and the smell has only been since then but less lately. hmm?? id di switch from atf to gear oil though. the front diff is a bit of a pita but not really. the bolt is in the front and you have to monkey to access it...
  15. famous exhaust leak??? beats me...
  16. maybe you should look into running some diagnostics with the ecu...
  17. It sound like the same problem as in the other thread w/ the same title. Tie rod ends....but I'd check for mud. that'll surely make it wobble...
  18. get a harder grade stud/bolt at a hardware store for now. just pennies... if it is warped, be carefull with tightening the thing too snug.
  19. first thing i did was a tuneup, then new 31" MTs, then Optima battery...that's it for now. MTs are amasing.... I've been wheeling a bunch lately too...
  20. if you're aproaching 100k and just putting the cooler on now, it may not be good news.
  21. i think with the power switch on it shifts higher then that. have you done the external cooler mod? maybe it's time..
  22. Nissan service kinda sux anyway...
