    Brakes?

since it seems that you are going to do the rotors make sure to closely inspect the cv boots and the axles. to get to them again you'll pretty much have to repeat the whole di-assembly..
  3. I have the 3000. i do like them but they are a bit stiff. with a load they are very good though... the 1000 are just straight replcements. for a $100 it's hard to beat. i'd like to have the stabilizer but that's sometime in the future i guess. as to the straps. man, glad to see you guys are taking advantage. i've always used my chain but it is heavy and soemwhat hard to travel with. for 20 bux i just couldn't pass it up. it's freaking beautifull. i hope i don't need to use it any time soon though...
  4. yup, i am to the last resort now. the semsor is rounded off now and there is really no other way that i can think of. it's also ruted in very badly so i may have to blow it off.. but thanks for your input...
  5. also, remember that you're supposed to be in N when shifting into 4lo and i don't think you're supposed to be rolling either but could be wrong on that... where are you from aldo?
  6. yeh, auto tranny. and i just thought that i better explain because some other "hawk" might question that. the only problem with 5sp that i am aware of is that one posted. (lo fluid on incline) and yup, i am going to have to try to pick that guys brain. he knows his nissans and since he works for a dealer he can get his hands on anything.. hopefully he'll be able/willing to share... we shall see...
  7. oh, you know iiiit. that's just too good of a deal to pass up and not to share... It's kinda funny though I'm getting blasted for posting it on another board... weard.. oh well, their loss... i got minezz....
  8. you got to be able to scrape up 25... they are 68+ship regularly. the sale last only as long as the supply does. there were like 3 or 4 at the store still but i bet the employees snapped them up by now.
  9. when i had my 89's tranny rebuilt that's what they did. i saw the bulletin with my own eyes. besides the built in cooler, the holes also plug up thusly cutting the oil flow... leading to stuff frying out. after that rebuilt and an external cooler i never had any problems at all but then that tk was very problem free. i still miss it... i'm going to talk to a Nissan tech I know about this and see if I can get my hands on any of that...
  10. I don't know but look at the 2" 20' and 30' there is a huge difference. when i went in the store today those guys freaked out and double checking the price.. i got one for $21.
  11. changin oil might help. to fix the problem for good you need to have a few of the wheep holes inside the tranny drilled a bit wider...i couldn't tell you which ones though. tranny shops have that info. it was part of a bulletin from Nissan long ago... if you do nothing...hmm???... start saving $.
  12. 4 Wheelpart has a sweet deal on Pro Comp tow straps going on now. 3"x30' for $20.00 This is a must for anybody and everybody that offroads, and for the price it's a steal! Here's the link to Tow Straps I just picked one up a bit earlier tonight... mmmm! -bounce- -bounce-
  13. i've had water over the top of the hood once but wouldn't recomend it. mookie is right! ecu tends to get wet when you die in the water and it has a chance to get in the cab...
  14. yup, that'll do it. if your tires are cupped that'll do it so will worn out cv joints. also, i think the top recommended speed in 4hi is around 45mph
  15. front of the shirt? i think we should leave the truck here... it is on the front of the webpage... http://www.nissanpathfinders.com/
  16. i like the second better. maybe darken up the "ground" just a bit. i like the texture better in general. so, white and black and gray too?
  17. wow. today i saw gas for $1.75. It has been over $1.90 pretty much the whole time since my last post.
  18. oh, they aren't that bad. i just did my cv boots so it's pretty much a somewhat time consuming snap.
  19. that's because while the method works great for older carbureted cars, newer ECU cars require a complete circuit to the battery or it will shut down. In computer controlled cars prior to this safety circuit, that method was a great way to burn up your ECU, caused by an immediate increase in resistance, coupled with a surge from the alternator coming to full charging capacity. thanks, json thanks for the in depth. now, since you say it i am thinking couple of the vehicles i used to own did run without the battery. I do have a car from the early 70s but it dies too.
  20. that's few miles.. it probably needs a bit of TLC. run ecu codes to find out if it is the O2 sensor or something else...BTW: the sensor is under the driver in the exhaust pipe. it can be a PITA.. i have't been able to switch mine out yet as i'm going to have to remove some x members to be eble to get my pipe wrench on it (it's actually 22mm) gas milage is terrible though... the ecu procedures are simple... see the sticky about it in the garage... since it has been a couple of years since a tuneup i'd check the plugs too. visually inspect the plug wires for any damage (cracking etc...) you may also look for any vac hoses. since you say that this only happens only when cold it could be something related to the vac or something like that which seals after things expand from heat... if you think that injector cleaner would kill your pump then you might as well do it and you'll know for sure... i have had a couple of fuel pumps go out but i sure have never seen the corralletion between the two..
  21. could be many things. O2 sensor and/or anything to do with spark (wires, plugs, cap...) fuel pump failing, from my experience, rears itself more as just cutting out at weard times not really hessitating though.. keep us posted with your solution...
  22. you could also be low on coolant if it is not the thermostat...
