  1. i wouldn't mix different weight or different brands. i do mix mobil with mobil1 of the same weight with no negative effects. it's all good
  2. sounds like a group buy... hehehehehe...
  3. looks cool. i may be down that way in a couple of months... will have to hook up for a little fun...
  4. mine starts blowing warm air within a couple of minutes... the trick is to flip the lever to recirculate while it's warming up. then to drive flip back to fresh air.... enjoy....
  5. injector cleaner maybe... ~10mi/gal seems a bit low... if you like to breathe fresh air i'd recommend you leave that catalytic converter on...
  6. check fluids for mixing if you cracked anything... it could be fuel pump but my guess is something related to the first repair... like someone already said, maybe you knocked something loose. unplugged vac will give you similar symptoms... i'd check around the distributor because it being loose, cracked, worn will manifest itself in similar way too... changing fuel filter couldn't hurt and it's a 5 minute PITA 1 kind of job... could be injectors, especially if it's cold.... i can't remember what the gap is supposed to be, i know you mentioned checking it, but you should be close otherwise you'll get funky performance... could be MAF, or something like that too... btw, ecu doesn't always kick a code out... most of the time but not always...
  7. get more plugins kb. i have no problems with any sites...
  8. not familiar with newer models but that seems high. thermostat is normally under $10 and most of the time it's pretty easy. (10min) the pump can be expensive (<$200?) and PITA. it all depends. but it's basically a part of the disassembly for your TB anyway. so do it all at once. if you're not mechanically inclined this job may be too big. otherwise some patience and carefull study should be all you need. (well, some wrenches and a manual would help... )
  9. i've been thinking about this because i have never had such problem on any stick shift. maybe there is a break-in period and you need to change oil but you said it's clean so i am a bit buffeled. the other thing is that the oil has to be GL4 and nothing else but i don't know if that would really have an effect on shifting or not or just early break down of the tranny...
  10. i am pretty sure Nissan calls for 75w90 in the tranny. maybe that's the culprit...
  11. 5w30 is what Nissan calls for. i run 10w30 in mine though. it starts just fine below zero... i have a bit of synthetic oil in it and will make a complete switch sometime in the near future..
  12. it's not really an OD. after engaging the button the computer shifts the tranny at different points. that's all...
  13. to start your truck in gear you have to depress a button located next to the cruise control on/off button (can't recall what it's called;) left of the stearing wheel..

  15. yup, i sure do but waiting to see what happens with the picture issue we seem to have... i am still trying to hunt down a few t-shirt printers and hopefully will first of the year... i'll post up then.. can't really do much till the pic thing get's resolved..
  16. i haven't had a chance to look into it but i will at least lok at it tomorrow. it just dawned on me that since the horns are down by the bumper i bet they are packed with snow, well it's melting fast now. last week below zero and this upcoming weekend in the mid 50s... gotta love it... anyway, something might have gotten dislodged or blew the fuse (Mr. Pickles, i hope you know i was just ribbing you ) I definately want to look into that whole system because the alarm horn is almost dead and a thief would just have a lough.... AIR HORNS sound like a great idea. I still have just the horns on my other truck. I don't think the air pump is there but will look. I wander if i can just find a compressor by itself. Hmmm? Any idea if one could hook up an AIR HORN to the alarm system??? that'd be the shizzit!!!! thanks for all your responces dudes...
  17. yeah, it's been a real b****. it's been to cold to even have the windows cracked and "beeping" in the cab is only annoying.... thanks you guys... i'll look into it some more later tonight...
  18. didn't mean this thread to add to your post whoring!!!!!!!! i'll keep you all posted...
  19. Since it got cold around here i noticed that my horn quit working. I haven't messed with it yet much except for a few observations. Of course I have a few questions. Any and all ideas would be appreciated especially form those who have some experience with this... A. how do you remove the cover from the stearing wheel? do you just pry it off? it doesn't seem as spongy as it was when the horn worked. B. where are the horns? i looked briefly but didn't see them. i found, what looks like the alarm horn because it sounds different and kinda works. (my 89's alarm was hooked up to the regular horns I'm pretty sure...) C. any relays in the circuit? i'm having a hard time following the diagrams in Hayens'. ok, let's start with those... thanks.
  20. sounds good to me kuz. i just don't think that manover erases the stored error codes but i haven't messed with the darn thing that much... i am sure other's have and may chime in...
  21. :contract: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=21 it's a bit down on the first post; 4v6, 4. the last thing before the codes.... from my Haynes' manual... for the earlier years they mentioned the same 4 flashes except that you flip the sliding switch on and off and turning the ignition off.
  22. check the ECU sticky in the garage. you don't disconnetct the battery to clear them. you turn the screw in the ecu... Nissan not a chevy...
  23. thanks for testing this out...
