  1. wow. i wish. i crank 3k at around 70. 31 MTs.. used to get about 14-15 but i drive less aggressivly and that seems to help a lot on the MPG department. not sure what it is yet but a little more. i also started running with 40 pounds of air in the tires. i get somewhere around 200-220mi/tank. 250 was my best todate.
  2. yeah, loose tire could be harmful. get'r done
  3. damn. where is that free motor when you need it, eh? the other one may still be for sale.. haven't looked at that thread in a while.
  4. oh man! i hope it's nothing major..
  5. hmm canada eh? well, there are plenty of those things around here, i am sure.. what year and stuff? i can call around here and see if you want me to.. shipping maybe an expense.. dunno
  6. that's true, i don't know on how many foriii have i seen this type of thing done at quicklubes.. it's the most DIY thing there is.
  7. btw. it's not a circle, it's an oval...
  8. lol, yeah B, oil pan but it also looks like it maybe leaking up above.. notice it in pic one.. looks wet above (where he circled) it's still kind of hard to tell but as much as it looks like it's dumping at the alt get'r done and it must be something big or even multiple hole..
  9. hey thanks man but i think mine are crap on the inside too... had to drill weep holes to loose all the moisture that always accumulated in them.. i may try it though
  10. how about the warning lamp in the dash? on or off? if off ^^^^ ; if on check the tail gate.. known item to get loose --> search
  11. look at the engine and bay itself. and underneath. it may not drip down but still be covering the whole undercarriage and parts.
  12. yeah. loose connection would be my guess too. if it was the resistor it would't work at all (on some or all the settings)
  13. way better then the bowtie POS anyday.. i've actually have had pretty good luck with fords overall. so levbun, what happened to the pathy?
  14. hmmm. no smoke at all nor a visible leak? can't be.. i just don't see it.. look harder.
  15. mine sits crooked too. passenger side and the back are lower.. i haven't messed with it much except to put on used (but better) stock springs..(thanks B.) that helped somewhat.. jgc/ford coils will be next and so will be doing the crank/re-indexing.. i am thinking that should do it... now, for you that's probably what you might have to do after you take care of the other problems.. vibrations of the tires: low air, worn out tire, busted belt (in the tire,) out of ballance; ball joints, TREs, CL, IA, PA, stabilizers, and links, and a host of other ills are possible.. start at the top of my list and work your way down.. creecks: kind of keep your eye out for bad rubber (bushings) and anything loose or bent..
  16. cool. and it only took 6+ month.. now that's some serious procrastenation.
  17. i think the sealing surface may be a limiting factor also
  18. i dunno man, is your air filter new and clean? not sure if the auto trannys have a shift solenoid but if yes, that could also be a culprit.
  19. yeah, my XE is pretty close to SE, sans the rotor breaks in the rear, roof rack and a few other things.. i got power everything.. can't really tell any difference between my present truck and my previous SE..
  20. i dunno. only small filters fit our trucks but you can do the external filtering with double filters.. someone one here has done that mod. use the search function.. it's been quite a while
  21. yeah, doesn't sound too good. truck running like crap? you didn't mention that. you can do a compression tests on each cilinder and see if there is a problem. you may actually get a clue when you pull the plugs. busted head gasket - truck runs like crap.. possible mixing of fluids also.. otherwise it could be rings, or valve guides or some other internal stuff.. keep us posted and good luck.
  22. i don't recall. search these forums for accessing the rear pannel. it was discussed not long ago but it is probably gonna be a PITA do get in when it's closed. try turning the key the other way.
  23. so, the spider must have come back, eh? when do we get paid?
