  1. You mean you can't just cut out the bad section and put in a new little piece?
  2. Visually look at the cable routing before pulling it gotta climb under it anyway to pull it and that would be my starting point for removal from a doner anyway as that's where you have a better chance of the doner parts breaking while removing
  3. Simplest and easiest thing to check is fluid level, it gets so low it will trip the light. Turning will give it the wave affect in the master cyl. resivour and trip it on/off depending how it hits it. Just remember, adding fluid will remove the symptom but not the cause, the hydraulic system of the brakes is a sealed system and should not lose a drop so it's a sign your losing fluid or it's time to pull the wheels and check your brakes as you got some low pads
  4. Gauge preferences are personal choices, example is say a transmission temp gauge. A very informative/usefull/vital gauge to automatic trucks-basicly pointless on a 5 speed. A vacuum gauge could be nice for alot of people(if just for info or to help keep you out of the skinny pedal some ), yet one that reads into "boost" is only an asset to a whole like 5 people here. Everyone will have their own opinion as to what's more important to them.
  5. There's write-ups around here somewhere that can give you basicly step by step of what's involved, I'd link one for you but I don't honestly feel like goin on my desktop right now... Comfortably planted where I'm already sitting
  6. B and uncc got my vote as to whats happenin here.
  7. Ahh, didn't know that tidbit of info. You got an in on bodywork then your ahead of the game
  8. start with the for sale section here for a pre-owned that might even match w/o any paintwork needed! Afterwards try some local salvage yards/used parts warehouses/local craigslist. If you can find a pre-owned match, it saves time and money on prep and paint work
  9. defiantly suggest starting with a code check. Was it the exhaust that had the egg smell or inside the truck? From the world of DSMs rotten egg smell inside the vehicle is generally a bad sign your ECU fried out, but they are known for goein south, not so much in wd21s (though not something to rule out)
  10. Your so vain, you probably think this update is about you...

  11. 2 door with a roof chop done in a way there's still headroom for the rear seat area.
  12. He went in for other repairs (seatbelt warranty) and not everyone wants to sit around and wait for their repairs. Courtesy from the dealership to have a loaner car so that people can go about their day while repairs are getting done
  13. Since I like optical illusions I wanna see more of these "bent" r50 shock mounts!
  14. I've personally got no faith in those bleeders and do the burp system on many different vechiles (with or without bleeders). Air pockets get trapped, air rises, letting it idle while parked is my kinda easy
  15. defiantly a re-post... (personally not gonna bother merging it right away as it was over a year ago so some newer members may get a kick out of it that wouldn't have seen it otherwise) it was for sale on their online classifieds for basically scrap price. IIRC it was basically a 'parts truck' to begin with as it was unregestered/untitled/un-something that it wasn't really road driven anymore than really seen in their video clip.
  16. when refilling, don't forget to bleed or 'burp' all the air out. A simple way is to park with the front of the truck facing uphill or on jack stands (no need for complete vertical, just so the rad. cap is undoubtedly the highest point of the cooling system) Fill the rad then run the truck watching the fluid level. This will effectivly 'force' any air to the 'top' which will be the highest point (get the making the cap the high point now? ) top off as neccesary install cap and fill the overflow to the proper level
  17. member here that goes by headpeace here linked this once http://www.q45.org/timers.html and claimed it was the solution for his issue
  18. Took my side steps off so I can start re-enforcing them as I like the factory rails (though I almost never use them). Add another project to the list of things that won't be finished any time soon
  19. I would NEVER honestly go to a quick lube place for an oil change... and besides the filter draining onto the starter when you crack it loose on a wd21 (which a quick lube place will almost never take any steps to prevent) doing it by your self is pretty simple. As for dealer oil changes, might be a couple bucks more but at least your getting the right oil and a quality filter, not a cheap azz Fram and some low grade unknown oil from a drum while they flash some empty quart jug of Castrol Syntec in front of you that's been on the shelf for 2 years. And at least it's going to a place with people who know Nissans and not some tech school dork who thinks your "jeep" is super keel while pouring some unknown predetermined ammount of oil in the crankcase instead of the proper ammount. Personal suggestion though would be if you don't want to/like to do them yourself, stick with your trusted source you normally deal with for mantnance and repairs. Take my thoughts as you wish and keep in mind that they are from someone who let's nobody near their truck for anything when it come to maintenance and repairs but themselves (heck I won't even go to full service gas stations )
  20. You have 2 hands (and I have the Rancho single shock stabalizer and didn't cut the tabs off the CL )
  21. Get the hatch too and just tell people it's a REALLY wide racing stripe!
  22. bastage and your fancy MPFI swap... He got a bath and a good frame hosing/rinsing today. Amazing how much salt builds up over so little being needed on the roads now tomorow I might actually work on one of the many lingering half done projects...
  23. this is NOT an s10 forum, they don't compare at ALL and please remember this. some of those cold mornings or long snowy wet winter nights I'm working I wouldn't mind sitting down into a pre-toasty seat myself but I would have to go full wiring style as I know for a fact my 88 has nothing there (and I hate leather seats), but there should be on yours since there was an option for it by then.
  24. and now one of the shiny machinists here knows what to make me for my birthday
