  1. Neato! My fogs don't work as of the first time I sank it in deep water just days after I got her... when I finally get around to fixing whatever I broke I am going to do this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. My 33 made a screaming noise after water intrusion thru the intake. I believe mine was piston ring related from forcing it to run after hydrolocking. No noises were present at cold start (except around 4K-4500RPM) until it was at running temps.. then it screamed like a banshee and locked down until cooling down completely and I could start the engine again.. 3. Castrol Import will be just fine. (Or Nissan Matic-J??) Take them both off the radiator and crank the vehicle. And while your there doing all that id go ahead and use the same method to swap all the ATF. Run the vehicle and fill a container that you can see how much comes out(liters/quarts) and when it starts spitting and sputtering turn the vehicle off and add back exactly as much came out. Then repeat that little process until the fluid coming out looks new. Best way to change ATF. Don't bother with changing the filter. That's a waste of time and money. I wouldn't worry about the magnet in there either. If your worried about that then get a 1" wide by 1/4" thick neodymium disk magnet from McMasterCarr.com and stick it to the bottom of the pan(you could total the vehicle and it'd still be there). There are some great inline filter option that would be easy to throw in while your doing all this stuff also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Ah, Cashes Valley Cemetery.. top 3 of the spots I've had the pleasure of visiting. This place was amazing. Water crossings galore and scenery second only to Dicks Creek(so far). Honestly this place was hard to locate. There are at least 4 or 5 roads named Cashes Valley(Rd, Ln, Cir, North, South, etc.) but when you finally find it.. wow! I found this one by an obscure YouTube suggestion. The water crossings hooked me like a blue fin. Here is the Ramblr link: http://rblr.co/V1v7 (This Ramblr app is awesome.. especially in areas like some of you guys live) I'm sorry about the lack of pictures.. I had to use my wife's phone for the video because mine is acting strange(blurry and exposure is off.. I'll have to replace the camera module) and so I only have the video. Again this is hosted on Wistia because of the far superior bandwidth and stream quality. Check out the smooth rock bed that leads to a upstream crossing at the end... best little stretch of anywhere I've been. Just beautiful and neat. I didn't go any further because there were signs saying "end of public road" and after the neat stream bed I started seeing personal belongings very near to the road(nice grill and cornhole things) so I decided not to disrespect them. https://justjunk001.wistia.com/medias/4ovu5iqu5g Enjoy! 6. The oil pickup is a tube that runs from the oil pump(front of the engine behind harmonic balancer) to the lowest part of the oil pan, so without disconnecting it you'd have to lower the pan all the way down. The pickup bolts up at the oil pump so if you could slip in there, maybe you could get away with not taking the subframe out. I don't remember much hanging down after the pickup is disconnected.. 7. I did mine with the engine out. The pan drops down quite a bit to clear the oil pickup. I suppose you might be able to unbolt the oil pickup if you have enough room to get in there. You'd definitely have a way better chance of getting the pan off without removing the subframe that way. Make sure you install the pickup before you put the pan back on though.. it is like a kick to the stomach if you have to redo all that RTV and stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. How is the passenger side spring? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. +1 for Superwinch Tigershark 9500 I have one and it puts in WORK. It pulled me out of knee deep mud/waist deep water, completely submerged. That's a good winch. I assure you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I just filled my tank and right before I started filling, it hit me what might be the cause of my carbon canister filling with gasoline.. Recently, like since I swapped my engine, for some reason I've been leaving my engine running while filling up and I've also been "topping off". Not as much topping off though really. Only a couple times.. not sure if those couple times are also the times when the smell of fumes were present.. I wonder if this is the cause.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. I like it. It makes the fenders and bumpers look more integrated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Hmmm.. try taking the yoke loose from the front diff and see if the ujoint moves freely in all directions. Do you have any vibration? What speed does the clicking start? If the click is present at very low speed, does the frequency of the click happen with each rotation of the wheels? Or is it much more frequent then the wheel rotations? Much less frequent? 18. I would just get some new fuel rated hose of the same size or cut both ends and get a double male brass hose barb that will fit and reconnect it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. All the associated valves(that I know of) are operating correctly. Honestly this is dangerous.. the location at the rear near metal that I could easily bash against a rock causing a spark and poof a fire is started.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Alright, so if gas has made its way into the canister itself then it is no good? Gas was trickling out of the vent at half a tank. I pulled the vent solenoid and it is operating correctly. I'm about to pull the surge solenoid to test it right now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Well today I smelled a scent I thought was stopleak from my AC refrigerant. I've been smelling it for a while, since I swapped engines. Smells like hair spray and today I recognized it as a scent I smell all the time at work in denatured ethanol. I went around my car trying to find the source and found a puddle forming at the rear driver side of the vehicle, right under the corner of the bumper. I pulled my vehicle far away and exposed the small puddle to an open flame and sure enough it is gasoline. I think water may also come from this hole?? It smells like mildew also.. or maybe it's just me. Either way there is definitely gas coming from the tube, enough to form a puddle... Here are pictures: What system is this tube and box a part of? I really appreciate any help. It should also be noted that I have 4 active check engine codes: P0325 Knock Sensor Malfunction P0161 Ripped all the wires out of the o2 sensor P0420 Been fighting this one since before the engine swap P1447 EVAP system?!? Are you kidding me? I just looked at the detail of the code this very moment.. Wasn't someone else literally just dealing with this very same issue??? I will track it down as soon as I post this thread but that's neat we're dealing with the same issue so close together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
