  2. Woah. That diff bushing is gone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Unless I got lucky twice in a row then no. However most of the time when there’s a 50/50 chance, I make the wrong choice. Maybe that’s balancing out with a double correct choice. Depending on how many fuses you have, it might be worth a try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I definitely do not like the neutral white either (and it’s really not neutral but falls slightly on the cool side- maybe 4700k). The only reason I got it was because they didn’t have warm white in that high quality brand. Superbrightled’s map lights looked like they wouldn’t have been bright enough with so few emitters, however they had every color available so I grabbed red from them (I wanted the red to be on the dim side anyway). So then I wanted the brightest possible passenger map light LED to make up for not really having one in my driver side since 99.99999% of the time I won’t be needing the red. I’m sure there is probably another good brand that has high quality bright warm white BA9S LEDs and I just didn’t do enough research..
  5. Try putting the oem bulbs in, put another fuse in, and flip the dome switch. See if the same thing happens. I’m thinking it’s a short in the switch somehow. Edit: wow I suck, somehow I missed the part where you did exactly what I just said haha Something must be shorting to ground in that dome fixture. Take a closeup look in there with the LED bulb in. Do the same with the maps, maybe it’s happening in there.. I had to bend the contacts a bit in my fixtures; maps were very loose and were blinking and the dome was too tight. The rear dome was okay. However I don’t know that poor contact would blow a fuse on a 12VDC circuit. I guess it could. Note: the blinking map lights was already an issue with the oem bulbs
  6. Someone is going to have trouble with their door locks and get more than they bargained for in this thread! Ha! Did you end up doing your power steering and AC too? The alternator does suck.. it was the first thing that died when I first got this vehicle.. I can’t imagine being separated from my wife during all this stuff.. that’s a whole other horrible aspect.. I’m glad you have your daughter though and y’all are finding cool stuff of your parents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I lost my parents too, 5 years ago. I can tell you one thing for sure, drugs and alcohol work. That’s why we use them. I can tell you one more thing, drugs and alcohol can turn you into something you never imagined. Not telling you not to use them.. because I’ve been there but I will say that what you silence now will come back later compounded by lowered serotonin levels. My parents both drank themselves to death (cirrhosis) 6 months apart from each other. After my dad I went on a drug binge and almost got put in prison for a long time but Jesus literally saved me (whole other story). I did go to rehab though but unfortunately my mom died 5 months into the program and I snapped. I didn’t do anymore drugs but I got very very very mad at God. So mad that I was ready to go to hell over it.. so I got on my knees and prayed, but not to Him. I went far down that road but He pursued me anyway (another whole other story). He is so close to the one whose heart is broken. That’s when He shows Himself.. He is in the middle of the tornado to stand WITH YOU. Not to stop it from coming or to take it away, but to be your Friend in it because He really does love you. This life is a dark, broken, hurtful, train wreck, but He loves what He created. You call me if you need anything at all. Whatever I can do, I will do. Michael Greene 770-330-2173
  8. With the MDX on cold mornings it would be smooth as butter until after driving for a while then it would start again. And after it had started vibrating badly you could blip the gas pedal and sometimes it would stop vibrating completely until you came to a stop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. The neutral white map light LEDs I got were from Amazon. They have more LED emitters than the superbrightled ones. But that Amazon brand didn’t offer red LED map lights so I got those on superbrightled.com Neutral White BA9S Map Light: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DNMX832?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title Red BA9S Map Light: https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/bayonet-bulbs/ba9s-led-boat-and-rv-light-bulb-5-smd-led-tower-ba9s-retrofit-96-lumens/2543/4725/#/attributes/13 Warm White 31mm Dome Light: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B075MC9QTZ?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title 74 Wedge Style Dash Light: https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/instrument-cluster-gauge/74-led-bulb-3-smd-led-miniature-wedge-retrofit-car/228/1068/#/attributes/10820 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Well let’s talk about the vibration characteristics. How would you describe the vibration? Is it low frequency like death wobble? Or is it a medium frequency like the hum of your engine? Or high frequency like the roar of a wheel bearing? When the CVs (both at same time) went bad in our old MDX it was a combination of medium frequency vibrations that waxed and waned with very low frequency and violent vibrations that increased with acceleration. When my steering rack bushings gave out the vibrations were low frequency and could be seen in the shaking of the steering wheel side to side. When my drivers side wheel bearing went out there was what seemed like white noise at highway speeds with vibrations that felt like traveling over ice in a sled at lower speeds. When my control arm bushing went out is was also low frequency and extremely violent.. like shake the car so hard you can’t see straight violent.
  11. Oh yeah it slings grease for sure but it washes off with a power washer. The underside of my vehicle is a dirty dirty place.. my leaking rack coats everything all the way back to the transfer case with a layer of oil. Rust protection. :] If the vibration is coming from his CVs then packing them with grease can temporarily reduce the vibrations. It’s like over packing a worn electric motor bearing to buy time until you have the replacement. If you do pack your CVs then the thicker the grease the better. It wont stop the vibrations for very long and you can repack them again to confirm. And Quasar is right, it’ll be a mess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hmmm.. yeah that slight vibration in 2H with hubs locked makes me suspect the CVs. How are your CV boots? If you’ve already got a small crack then try pumping them slap full of grease. I use this for mine: My boots are ripped up but I slam them full of grease every 5k miles and they’ve been going for years like that now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. I was going to say that I might hook you up with the spare I have but you’re waaaaay away :]
  15. Oh yeah man doing it in reverse does the trick during common sticking. My wife’s truck gets stuck sometimes because she never ever uses it and only reverse gets it unstuck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Sorry man I meant to get this done already.. I’ll try to get to it soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. On second thought, this could also overheat your transmission.. Where are you located? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Hmmmmm.. well I have one more idea but it could damage the transfer case. Put it in 4LO and drive at 50mph for 10min or so. Hop out and put your hand on the transfer case real quick to confirm it is HOT. If it’s not hot, keep driving. While it’s hot, do the forward and reverse lock to lock figure 8’s. And be aggressive with it. Is your set up the dual switches or the single switch with a floor lever?
  19. I got the Dorman brand ones from the parts store. I think they’re rubber too but they have some sort of coating that’ll hopefully extend the life past one measly year. They literally have no scent to them at all and there’s a weird rainbow looking sheen on their surface. It looks very much like oil on the surface of water. This was kind of an emergency repair since the whole rack was moving around. On a tight curve I was getting 60-90 degrees of steering wheel travel before it would catch and start steering. I actually almost crashed the last time I was going thru the mountains because of it, well that and the passenger side control arm bushing was almost completely gone. I would definitely like to have been able to put urethanes on there.
  20. About a year ago, maybe a little less or little more, I made some rack bushings out of some high grade neoprene rubber I had in the shop at work and yesterday I found them to have failed. Some of y’all probably already know this but for those who don’t know like me, neoprene is not good for bushings. I thought because good quality SO/SJ cable comes jacketed in neoprene that it might be a good choice, but it’s not. Around a year in the presence of oil and pressure (clamp force) neoprene begins to separate.
  21. As far as I know, there is no such thing as a guard that actually helps during a rolling impact. There are large amounts of energy even during 15mph impacts that tubing just can’t hold up against. I think a guards place isn’t to protect anything during a high force impact but they are there to protect against purposed low force contact, like pushing down trees, heavy brush, and tow/winch points. I’m sure there are special designs that ARE made to offer some protection during moderate force impacts like deer and fender benders, BUT these same designs may actually end up causing much more damage during a high force impact since they are very ridged and attached directly to the frame. If you bypass the shock absorbing front/rear end of a vehicle then you might see total loss damage to the frame and insurance will deny coverage. Of course this has no significance to our dated vehicles..
  22. Wow.. I meant beam shots but, wow, even the look of them is better. Sooooo these were made by someone or some pathfinders came with these?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My last three gas mileages have been: a. 16.6 per gallon across a range of mountains and then back across, about 140 miles[8 gallon fill up]. b. 16.3 per gallon half interstate half city with about an hour of idling (lunch breaks) and around 260 miles[16 gallon fill up]. c. 16.369 per gallon 3/4 interstate 1/4 city with no idling (except at stop lights and stuff) and 273.591 miles[16.714 gallon fill up]. During all of these I went pretty easy on the gas pedal. I had a heavier foot during one of the incline mountain portions of (a.) and I thought surely I was going to see terrible gas mileage but to my surprise I saw the best I've seen in a long while. I've only recently been able to record gas mileage since I replaced my faulty gauge cluster.. I was getting like 12 miles per gallon and sometimes less before I replaced my cylinder heads and even had a tiny bit less power too. I dont know what the heck had happened to those cylinder heads but they were crap.
  24. Did you buy Raybestos shoes? They are well known for absorbing water which makes them swell a little. I bet you have your drum brakes adjusted a little too tight. And really it’s not that they’re too tight but that the shoes swell and it makes them too tight. Back the star off 2-3 full rounds and see if the problem goes away. Or, if your parking brake is well adjusted, back off on your stars until the ebrake handle bites hard between 1/2 and 3/4 up. I adjust my drums where the ebrake bites hard at like three clicks just so I don’t have to adjust them often, but if my shoes were the type which swell then I’d have major problems.
