Was it a nice radiator, or the cheapest one you could find on eBay? Could be as simple as a crappy radiator lasting about as long as you should expect one to.

I like that. I always like having gear secured, but there's very few good options for the R50, especially if you have a rubber mat covering the tie downs in the floor, this is cool.

As Slartibartfast clarified, I was referring to the one between the control arms, sorry for the confusion. His explanation was good, I usually do what he said. Mine didn't have the skidplate when I got it, that cutout would definitely have tipped me off that that location was a good one (although I used it anyways).

If you want to do both front wheels at the same time you could do the crossmember on the subframe, but I'd worry about slighly bending it; this may be reduced if you use a ~2' piece of wood to displace the load.

I understand that VQ oil consumption is common, but I'd also like to say that mine didn't have the issue. Mine had 147k miles and never lost oil except one time when I pushed it really hard two days in a row.

Gonna answer your question and address some confusion you seem to have. First of all, it's not a body lift, it's a suspension lift. You can't do a body lift on these vehicles since they're unibody. Secondly, longer struts would not help you with spacers, they would only be helpful with actual longer coils. However, longer struts do not exist for these vehicles unfortunately, best you can do is when the time comes to replace your struts get KYB (with OEM accessories). The rear is where longer shocks would help by giving more articulation, however they are not necessary. As a general word of advice, buy yourself a can or two of PB Blaster and make sure to liberally spray down all the bolts you'll need to be messing with daily leading up to the job so you can actually get those 15 year old bolts loose without having to break out the death wheel (angle grinder).

Possibly the best content available on YouTube! And yeah, I would take the turbo thing seriously. I don't know a lot about them, but I do know that if something goes really wrong they can do a lot of damage to an engine.

Yup, I love T4R.org, it's the one I've found to be best so far. And yeah, unfortunately there is a lot of "bro" culture and a lot more threads to read to keep up, however I tend to skip the stupid content and only read the real stuff, then it's manageable. And I couldn't agree more, NPORA blows pretty much every other car forum out of the water.

Well, it's gone! ? Sad to see it go, but it needed to happen. It was a great almost two years (exactly 2 years and 9 months actually). Time to move on. Hopefully I'll have another one day. I did warn the buyers that if you use AC when it's really hot like today then engine gets hot, so let's just hope they actually listen and don't use it on the drive home. By the way, I've got a pic of that CV angle, I'll put it up when I get a chance.

That's not the reason (I didn't have a reason, just hadn't done it yet), however that is interesting and worth investigating further. If it's already up pretty high, then awesome.

Maybe it needs to be mentioned in the WD21 and R50 subforums. I bet a lot of people never check the R51 section, even if they have one, because it's their DD and their wheelin rig is an older gen. Maybe if they see this they'd be willing to mod their daily, but only if they see it.

I see lots of pics of modded R51's, but it seems like many of them are overseas. You would think more people would be interested though, you've got a great opportunity you're offering.....
