  1. What symptoms are you experiencing? I'm having a bad misfire on my 97 Quey. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
  2. Look in the FSM manual for the proper gap. I think it's 0.39-0.43. Check all your vacuum lines in and around the intake. Check your spark plug wires. Also get your o2 sensor issue fixed. It could be giving the computer false readings causing the motor to run lean resulting in the plugs fouling out. While the engine is running check to make sure your injectors are working using a mechanics stethoscope. You should hear each injector ticking. It's all in the EC section of the factory FSM manuals. 6. How did you unhook it? Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
  7. I change the valve cover gaskets about a year ago of course and I know you know this they were leaking terribly. When I hooked everything back up I totally forgot to hook the idle air control valve connector up and didn't realize it until about a week later it was running rough and of course me not knowing enough about the engine at the time took the plenum back off just to make sure everything was connected correctly and to make sure that I connected the idle air control valve. I did what you said and pushed my clutch in at a dead stop and turn my wheel left and right and it did rise up 50 to 200 RPMs. I've already set the fast idle cam by the FSM manuals and the marks that are located on it, but I'm not a Nissan mechanic I'm a shade tree mechanic so who knows if I got it right or not. Sometimes if the car sits overnight or if it sets while I'm at work when I come back out to start it sometimes it sounds like the son of a b**** is going to take off. And I'm guessing it's the sound of the fan but sometimes it doesn't do that sometimes it starts uo anf sounds normal. So maybe it's sticking how would I know if it's sticking that's my question? I can't remember what the little cylinder is called that brings the idle down. Maybe that's my problem. Thanks for the help so far. It's had this issue ever since I changed the valve cover gaskets. Anymore help would be greatly appreciated. I can send a video to show you what it does. It does it really bad when it's cold or when the motor is cold not so much when it's already warmed up. 15. It's a weird issue. I've unplugged my tps and no change it still does it. I will definitely try what you said to do. Thanks a lot. Any information you can give me about the transmission would be greatly appreciated. I changed the tran fluid on Monday with MT-90 Red Line synthetic gear oil GL-4, and it shifts so smooth. I looked everywhere for this oil at my local auto parts stores and they didn't carry it, all they carried was GL-5 and of course the guy at the counter at every store said it would be okay to put that in my transmission but I knew better. I went by the FSM manual. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
  16. Hey guys I'm having a problem when coming to a stop I will press the clutch in and the idle will shoot up to 1700 to 2000 and doesn't come back down until I come to a complete stop. It's like a tiny man is pressing the throttle for me. I can literally let the car just drive itself I don't understand what's going on. It doesn't do this all the time but it does do it quite often especially when it's cold or when it's been sitting overnight other times the car is perfect no check engine lights for high idle or nothing. Is my idle air control valve sticking does it have something to do with the throttle body I know the throttle is cable driven and it's not sticking so I know that's not it but something is going on and to be quite honest with you I use more gas because like I said it's like somebody is pressing the gas for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys I can also upload a video if need be to show exactly what my 98 Pathfinder is doing. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
  17. Here's what the fuel and temp white faced guages look like installed. Eventually I will do the tack and the speedometer just haven't got that far yet. Also installed LED lights too through out the entire truck. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
  18. As far as I know you can swap out the gauges through years 97 98 and 99. 2000 will work it's just the warning lights are in different places than the years before. I know this because I used a 2000 instrument cluster to put in my 98 Pathfinder and when I went to set the cruise control I think the ABS light lit up or something I can't remember but it was in a total different place. It's really easy just to swap out the gauges by themselves the tack has 4 screws on the back the fuel gauge I think has three and the temperature gauge has three. The speedometer is a different story you actually have to plug it in with a connector and it's hard as hell because you have no slack with the wiring harness. I just got done switching my fuel gauge and my temperature gauge with white face gauges out of a 2000 model. Super easy. The picture is a set of 98 QX4 guages/instrument cluster that I put in to my 98 Pathy. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
  19. So as far as all the grounds to body please point me in the right direction. I cleaned the ground on the alternator from the battery and around the fuse box pass side under hood. I just need help on which ones to look for. I know its a dumb question. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
  20. Great that you found the problem. I myself wouldn't wire the light bar direct. Using a relay is the better route. Just saying. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

Like RCWD21 said factory tool kits come with a tool to remove #6 plug. I didn't like the factory tool whatsoever so I found another way to conquer #6. Congratulations on the yoga and the removal of PITA #6! Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

I've found a way to conquer it. Use around a 7inch extention and a swivel headed ratchet drive. Piece of cake. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
  25. Hey guys question here about the trouble I'm having with my Quey. The guy I purchased it from had washed the motor a few months before I got it. He told me it had a miss, but I didn't care cause I was using it as a parts car for my 98 R50. Well I decided to keep it and drive it and cannot for the life of me figure out the problem I'm having. I got rid of the p0300 cel and p0150. After putting in the O2 sensor it was still missing. It threw a code p0304 fixed that. Then it threw the code p0303. Fixed that. It's still missing and just waiting for it to throw the next cel which i know its coming. Also while it's running/missing the lights flicker like crazy, bright dim, bright dim. Anyway I'm beginning to think out of everything I've replaced, distributor, plugs, wires, Injectors, mass flow sensor, O2 sensors, misc hoses, charcoal canister, gaskets for IACV, upper plenum, egr valve, throttle body and whatever else I can't think of its got to be an electrical problem. Can someone please help me out? Maybe the guy fried something from washing the motor. Come on NPORA MEMBERS HELP A BROTHER OUT TO SOLVE MY ISSUE. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
