31's... check. new brakes all around... check new rust... check. Broken alternator adjuster... still check.. Been gone for a little while guys, just got out of the hospital. Had a few broken ribs, a torn shoulder (everything in it), a broken nose and a severe concussion, with random loss of consciousness (thus the extended hospital stay) I'll only tell the story because its pretty wild, but here goes. About a month ago a buddy of mine turned 21, and I agreed to DD his birthday celebration at a club in Denver (oh joy). Anyways, hes a trust fund kid from California, so he has all sorts of toys, including a 450+ HP Evo X, black, murded out and all. Anyways, the weather on the way there wasn't looking too great, as we've had a lot of rain in Colorado over the last month or so. When we came back outside at around 4 am, the ground was soaked as it had dumped rain but wasn't raining anymore. The drive back to Boulder, where we live, is a straightshot down the highway, so we were cruising right around 80-85 mph when we hit a flooded part of the road, just as I was changing lanes to get off at our exit. I didn't see it until it was too late, and we began to hydroplane literally instantly. Now, I'm the president of the rally racing team at the University of Colorado, so an uncontrolled slide wasn't really all that surprising to me. What caught me off-guard was the uneven braking that his car gave me when I attempted to slow us down. With no control of the car whatsoever, we slid into those big yellow barrels they put in front of the guard rails of off-ramps, at a speed of about 65, according to the police report. I don't even remember the impact or anything from then until we arrived at the hospital, me all sorts of messed up and my buddy passed out drunk with just a cut forehead. I owe my life to the safety measures put in place by Colorado Highway Patrol and to the outstanding crash resistance of the Evo X, and to the 12-point Cusco roll cage in his car. Had we been in my Pathfinder, it is very likely that we both would have been dead, albeit also would have hit the barrier at a far slower speed. I am just grateful to be alive and to be able to learn from my experience. Hope you all have been doing well, and that your trucks have been treating you nicely.

I tore it down to the tbelt because I wanted to check the tensioner, since I changed the belt about 6k ago and just wanted to check that the tension was still in spec.

I gave up on trying to get my fan back on with the shroud, so i just yanked the shroud out. I'll just keep telling myself that I'll replace it eventually.....

they gave me the wrong belt Replaced all of my belts today.... $45 cuz all NAPA had was the good ones (guess I can't complain) No more slipping and squealing!! Unfortunately, when I was tightening the alternator adjuster, the bolt head sheared, so I had to leverage a crowbar against the alternator in order to set the tension.. booo

Has anybody ever had issues with not having enough adjustment track for their alternator belt? The stock belt size just seems like its too big nowadays

As much as I've loved having my timing advanced slightly (more high-rpm power), I think its time to go back to standard. The lack of low-end torque is starting to get annoying from stoplights, especially now that its no longer cold out, so the truck doesn't stay at 1500 until it warms up. Before, it would usually warm up right as I got on the highway, so the stoplights up to the highway were buttery-smooth shifts. The advanced timing leaves a torque gap at around 1700-2200 rpm, so its more work than normal to rev match. Oh well... goodbye 19mpg highway!

Yea, considering that my rear drums probably can't even lock my rear wheels up, I considered it a reasonable thing to just remove the ABS control box.

It was one of the many mix-and-match Pathfinder options

I'm allowed to have fun too Took the roof rack off today, since riding season is just about over and I wanted to get some mileage back. Ended up getting 19 on an impromptu trip to Glenwood Hot Springs!!! Quick question for those of you that have owned your trucks for a while. My injectors seem to occasionally have an issue priming, but only when its warm outside. This causes hard starts, and it doesn't start on the first revolution of the crank like usual. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

There were a lot of those little rust spots forming on it when I bought it, and in the process of removing them, most of the clear coat was removed. Only the rear quarters still shine w/o heavy waxing
