  1. AHHHHH IM GIDDY!!! Redid my timing belt today, and the first thing I noticed when I tore down to it.... 39 teeth between cam marks, and 44 between the cam sprocket and crank sprocket.... Driver side cam was a tooth off, which in turn caused the ignition timing to be off, resulting in terrible misfiring and backfiring when I let off the gas. Now runs 100x smoother, quieter, acceleration is once again linear and unforced, and most importantly.... my exhaust sounds smooth again! Just wish I had had the time to do this so much sooner..
  2. Check to make sure that your upper/lower rad hoses arent clogged. Have you done your timing belt - might be time for a new thermostat. Or, maybe your coolant temp sensor is outta whack and needs to be replaced.. check the ohm level on it and compare it to the specs in the FSM

  4. got lazy and decided it was too hot to do the tbelt today. instead i just sprayed all of the bolts underneath with pb just in case i decide that i want to do something
  5. The handles move but just dont open the door, right? If so, try pushing really hard on the door from the inside, and then the outside. Like, slam your body into it. Mine used to do that when my XL-sized roommate used to lean against the door.
  6. Oh ok youre down there. A couple of us are going to Slaughterhouse on the weekend of the 4th of July (not sure which of the two days yet) if you're interested
  7. If you are going to lift the rear do it with JGC front coils, cut the pigtail off, and voila!! How many miles you got?
  8. Looks good there Jeff! What part of colorado are you from?
  9. Oh jeez. wasnt it at npora.lpdhost.com or something like that? Its been a while since that was around!
  10. Hey, I'm not saying that I had a pathfinder in the "old days," but that doesnt mean I wasnt one of the lurkers. My next door neighbor / best friend a couple of years older than me that had a blue two-door 90 back in 06, and we used this forum to do all kinds of stuff to it before safety inspection failure stole him from us But hey!!! Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of me owning my truck so thats something!!
  11. Welcome to the club man! Pictures are always welcome!
  12. Totally did not even pay attention to the dates of the posts in the thread.. i still assume that its like the old days where a thread got 2 pages of posts in half a day..
  13. I just came across this quote and its gold.. I am officially renaming my truck. My whole front end looks likes this lol. But its all just awkward surface rust. nothing harmful really, until i try to take bolts off...
  14. AGGGG the inside of that water pump hose is grodyyyyy
  15. Just watched him roll by my window at the same time as hearing a large gust of wind and had to chase him down the driveway. Good thing I live in the country!!

  16. every time that I see your rig I get all kinds of giddy
  17. I have to ask, how did you not notice those wires before? In terms of your question, I'll check my rig/ FSM tomorrow to see if I can tell what those wires are for
  18. Bump guys. Admin move this to Rocky mountain section maybe?
  19. just hit 85,970 in my 91, which, with bonus miles from the new larger tires, is an even 86,000!! The only thing that remains to be seen is whether or not the odometer was fooled with before I bought it...
  20. I didnt notice this earlier, but oh my god that is literally the green d21 from my childhood
  21. Oh yea and I'll be redoing my timing belt this coming weekend, as I'd like to have some low end power back (Adam and I messed it up this winter and one of the cams is advanced a tooth.....)
  22. Wait 88's dont have airbags. I mean, my 91 does but its just a brown paper bag taped to the dash to make my girlfriend feel safer as a joke With my new 31s, I dont rub when turning at all. Unless my tank is empty. Or I have any passengers over 150 lbs. Out of curiousity I checked the ride height in all 4 corners with a tape measure and not a single corner is at the same height as the others. Going to look into the cost of getting new struts all around, and into what it would take for me to cut the tbar adjuster bolt off, drill it out and replace it with a new, unrusty/unseized one. And to reindex the bars, as after it settled back after having it on jack stands a few days, both corners are about 1.5" lower than the rear, with the driver side being the lowest of all 4 corners. Because thats where the driver sits All in all stoked to hit up some trails on the 4th of July weekend with Wd21_Colorado (Adam) and Makaaa (Micah). Anybody else from the Colorado area down to join us? Slaughterhouse Gultch to Chinaman Gultch, and Imogen Pass if fuel usage permits/if its open
