Well, I've found time to revisit some of these issues tonight, and will continue to do so for the rest of the week before I go back to school. To revisit, my remaining symptoms are misfire (random but not "constant"), unsteady idle, and occasional high idle after warm-up. The truck no longer runs rich (thanks to NGK plug wires and a new fuel filter), but the truck does backfire/misfire heavily during geared deceleration when the engine speed is between 1800 and idle (750) rpm. Is this an indicator that it might be my IACV or another idle related sensor that is malfunctioning? I disconnected the following sensors individually... O2 - ran far richer and didn't solve misfire or unsteady idle. Coolant temp sensor - again, ran richer, maybe slightly smoother, but still with a misfire and unsteady idle. PCV - pinched the line, not sure how effectively I pinched it, but it didn't change the engine speed (FSM EF&EC-51) I want to see if the EGR valve is sticking or not next, but I really don't know how to tell. Also, noticed one of my injector screw-down things was cracked today.. could this be causing problems, as it appears that the injector isn't all the way in the hole now.. attached below are an audio-only video of my exhaust, and two pictures detailing what I mean about the injectors.. any help is welcome! http://tinypic.com/m/ivfy2o/3 cracked injector (cap)? You can see where it is cracked right in the middle of the picture. what it looks like in other cases, for reference

Being mildly lazy here, but assuming that you just spliced the line on one of the brake lights and used LED HMBL for low-draw on that line? -

Got rear ended... again.... which brings my total up to 3. Bumper is less bacon-ed and more noodl-ed now, and I actually think I might be able to pull it straight now! -

Drove it to work, and as a prank that the owner suggested I do, used it to tow my bosses truck down the street... where he and I then dropped it on cinder-blocks and put the now vehicle-less 38's where he usually parks -
A copy over there would be great!

Junkyard again.. found a bull bar that I wanted to snag but I ended up breaking my ratchet wrench with 1 bolt left to remove Sears replaced it, but I broke it just before the junkyard closed, so there was nobody that I could borrow a wrench from and I couldn't go back. My next chance to go is maybe next Saturday.. with my current luck, I'll probably get to watch that Pathfinder get crushed too. w Also, saw the D21 version of Bubbley's rig, with the sweet red/silvery white two tone. Odometer had 97k but the timing belt was broken Here's a picture of what else I did. -

Peeked at my muffler because I noticed a hissing sound louder than normal. The exit pipe has completely separated from the muffler back plate, resulting in a big fat crack through which half of my exhaust is escaping. Huzzah! -

Rewired my red footwell lights, which allow people to see stuff that they drop at night without affecting nighttime vision. Installed and wired puddle lights.. actually, they are small driving lights that fit just inside the triangular body mount just aft of the front door hinge line. very bright, and the whole thing is relayed/fused/switched by a factory fog light switch i pulled from a jy.. 1:30 am finish time because nissan uses 3 black wires on the fog light switch so I had to play around with it. currently dead see y'all around -

If you want to keep it even more tidy, you can do what I did and wire your horn to an interlock switch. I just made a little vinyl decal to stick over the word interlock, and since its a switch native to our trucks, you dont have to do any cutting to make it fit in any of the holes.. I can give you the wiring diagram for it if you choose to go that route -

looks kinda like a lunchbox got left under your hood Swapped the odometer for one that has two trip odometers... required a lot of plastic trimming to fit, and the speedo needle gets stuck at 60, but overall I am pleased. Started to paint my spoiler, bug deflector, and rack. Will install with pictures in the coming days. While I was swapping the odometer, with the cluster pulled, I noticed something odd... the abs lightbulb hole was empty. Having removed the control unit a while back, I rooted around for a spare cluster bulb, and plugged everything in. Lo and behold, the abs light is stuck on looks like the PO is sneakier than I thought.. wonder what else he hid that I haven't found yet.. anyways, turns out it was the rear sensor, either open or shorting.. time to hit the JY again and hope. -
Does anybody remember, when counting the flashes, if the last, long solid "flash" counts as a "flash" or is it letting you know to start counting again? Makes the difference between an actuator and the sensor

Sounds good to me! Welcome to the crew!

And in the 90's, Nissan began to have the same problem. -

There is a reason why closed-body racecars have wrapped headers.... it keeps the heat in, where its supposed to be haha. But no, don't wrap the headers if it will void the warranty. -

Have you considered wrapping the headers?
