  2. No rattles from any of mine. I thought about the tail gate too, but the weight of the axe alone was too much for the gate to lift open by itself. So that was not an option. I really like where where I have my maglite and fire extinguisher. And axe I might add. All out of the way, yet very accessible. Only thing I had to do was was re-inforce the liner as the weight was pulling it out slightly. One more consideration, you will hit your head on the shovel or whatever you hang there if you are average height or a bit on the talk side.
  3. OD cover. Found a way of installing lights on my rack without drilling. I used 2 shelving pieces that had holes pre drilled, like these: Bought some flat black spray paint, And now they look like this; So I can mount these: . I had to re-drill the holes just slightly larger, other than that, super simple concept. That is if you don't mind using zap straps I have 2 more of these For the rear 2 corners. The idea is that since I can swivel them they can be used into any direction. I have a 17" LED bar as well that I don't feel I need now after seeing how much light these put out but I will probably still mount it. There's no kill like overkill! Stay tuned my friends...
  4. Gatling guns are phenomenal, but when ammo acquisition and ammo storage is an issue, as it certainly would be for a gun that eats up to 6000 rounds a minute, I think you would be all out of ammo within 30 seconds lol. I think a sniper rifle would be better suited. I like all your other mods though, definitely off road capable. Find high ground, cam up the vehicle with a cam net, start sniping walkers from a distance. Collapse and repeat. Clean out your town. Once most are down, build a perimeter around any desired amount of houses/buildings and defend the place. Take the Pathy on supply runs and run over as many zombies as possible. Lol I love how this thread is becoming like a survival guide to the zombie apocalypse.
  5. One thing I've always considered more dangerous than the undead during an outbreak would be the living. As was seen again in the season 5 opener of the WD! Anyone else watch it? While a lot of mods would work against "walkers" and "runners" I guess we could call the humans, I think a few extra thoughts need to be given to human proof your vehicle...ballistic protection comes to mind. But since metal armour would really weigh it down too much, I think I'd line my doors and windows with as much Kevlar as possible. I would use steel plates to protect my fuel Jerry's though as that would be an extremely precious commodity.
  6. Damn I wish mine had climate controls like that. And that clock. I'm sure they all light up. Pull the unit and get new bulbs.
  7. This is good to know. I need longer studs to fit my 5mm spacers. Thanks
  8. I wonder how these got started...lol you already have my order for 2 of these.
  9. Since I already drilled into my plastic panels I figured why stop now so I added 2 straps for my axe.
  10. Said seat cover...but will swap it for an OD one: Also mounted my axe in the trunk:
  11. Did some work on the spare tire carrier, but ran into my limitations of tools accessible to me. I need a plasma cutter to make some other adjustments. The trailer has hit a dead end as I will need either 100$ spacers or a $200 axle to make the new wheels fit. So I think il just run this one into te ground and keep the rims for my next project. Did some rust fighting and painted the calipers black instead of bright orange, i.e. Rusty. Bought a smittybilt seat cover with all kinds of pouches. Pics tomorrow.
  12. It's all good... I too have my build thread out in the R50 sub forum as a living thread.
  13. Put some rust freeze all over a bunch of stuff and sprayed black over it. Including my calipers. No more "orange" coming through the nice new black rims.
  14. I think build threads and members rides are 2 different things. Members rides is much less detailed generally and just shows a couple pics of your ride. Build threads feature all the details, especially when they are "living" threads that get updated as mods proceed.
  15. Ah my bad. I like those wheels on that silver one!
  16. Looks very clean. And welcome to NPORA! Can't recall seeing your name before.
  17. Pretty good idea for a homemade RWS. But with all those spikes you would end up covered in zombie pieces and eventually weigh down to the point where you'd have to clean it all out, thus exposing you to the virus. Potentially cut yourself on them in the process and contract the virus....just a thought.
  18. Good questions. Obviously zombies and reality don't exactly match, so like Slartibartfast said, it all depends on the origin story. My favorite and most "realistic" zombies so far would have to be from the Walking Dead series. There are plenty of walkers that are "dying" or very slowly starving and decomposing. But they remain undead (to not say alive) until the brain is destroyed. Some have plants and moss growing on them like one of those found at the bottom of a tree. They weaken if they don't eat but the process is very slow. If the theory about flies and bugs eating them were true, which it very well might be, then we would probably experience a mass surge of sh*tflies infected with the virus (if the virus carries cross species). But I would agree that the military would be able to destroy the vast majority of the infected. The weaponry and tactical advantage over a target so easy to spot and so slow to move is just too damn big. Even if bullets became a shortage, these things can be run over by the armoured units. There would have to be a massive internal outbreak within the military and even then chances of that happening across all the nations bases is very unlikely. Besides everyone's got their issued CBRN equipment so that in the event of an outbreak it would quickly be quarantined. Terranovation does have a pretty good idea though ref the warehouse. Much like the prison at which the gang of the WD is hiding out in. While that makes a lot of sense, I think it would be fun to drive around, find the nicest biggest mansion of some dead rich guy and take it over, fortify it, and wait out the outbreak. Take my awesome zombie Pathfinder and go on supply runs and kill some walkers along the way.
  19. Hahaha wait there is concept to it?' It isn't just redneck swag!?
  20. Kijiji $20 a pop for 5 steelies with pretty worn down DC mud Country. They are made in USA brand name steelies just cant recall the name right now.
  21. Tried to fit the "new" wheels on the trailer. Will need some more modification to fit. But when it does, it will be sweet!!
