  1. "No buddies from the radiator" lol yeah it's a good idea to keep those buddies inside
  2. Just to verify, the round plastic thing held on with the c clip is directly in the middle behind the glass. So you'll have to remove the glass. Just use a flat screwdriver and take care.
  3. Is it electrical? What I did was pry the glass off the plastic holder, underneath that is a round plastic thing, held on with a c clip. You push on the back of it from memory and then the c clip can be removed. But be careful because there's a little spring thing on it which can go flying. With a bit of prying you can get a screwdriver in and undo the four screws holding it on. There's four in each corner. I ended up cutting holes through the mirror plastic so I could get to the screws.
  4. I heard one on the radio they were asking callers about things that have happened to something new they they bought. This guy called in and said he had just bought a brand new Ford Falcon, was driving on the freeway towards home and got stuck behind a pickup loaded with building material. He described the 'twinkling' noise as a load of nails bounced off the hood and left nice little scratches all on the brand new paint and chip marks all over the windscreen. He got home to discover nails in front tyres and he was stupid enough to pull them out and tyres went flat. It just wasn't his day I guess.
  5. Are you replacing the correct voltage for the fuse? Use the correct voltage eg don't use a 30 amp fuse for everything. I remember someone used 30 amp fuses on their entire fuse block. The results were not good.
  6. Might be throttle cable related, give the carby or throttle cable a clean
  7. The main thing here is you have to remove the coolant reservoir to gain more access to the sides, remove the top coolant hose out of the way and the bottom shroud must be unclipped and removed because it's wider at the bottom than the top piece, so you can clear it from the fan. I have the TD27 motor though, which is probably why it's easier for me to remove. Also I cleaned the shroud off of the dust and grime since it was out. It's a lot easier to clean with it out of the engine bay!
  8. I managed to remove my shroud, it just has mms of clearance but it's possible. First, remove top radiator hose and overflow coolant reservoir. Second, undo the four screws holding the fan shroud in place. Two on top corners, two on lower corners. It will be easier to remove base engine bash plate at this stage. Then crawl under front of car, the shroud is in two pieces, snap fitted together. Feel halfway up the shroud and you'll find the little clippy things that hold them together. You have to squeeze one edge then push inwards and they pop out. It's a bit fiddly, I managed to break one of mine a bit because I was unsure of how they come apart. Once you have the bottom piece separated you can just drop it down and slide it out. The top part you should be able to manoeuvre out wiggling it slowly up and side to side. Just be careful. You might feel like the shroud is scraping the hell out of your radiator fins but it will be ok.
  9. I used to TIG weld many exhaust systems on a wide range of vehicles and never had any issues of chips malfunctioning. Ever.
  10. Also try www.autopartsmate.com.au and look under Nissan parts. This is where I found my aftermarket tail lights. They are made by a company called REPO. I think they are based in Thailand. Anyway, autopartsmate imports them into Australia and the best part about it is free shipping anywhere in Australia.
  11. Thailand make aftermarket parts too. I got rear tail lights and air con vents from Thailand.
  12. http://s195.photobucket.com/user/kiwi_pete/media/Electrical/Lockupswitchplug_zpsf23764cb.jpg.html This is the brown plug you should look for - apparently cut the blue wire, I think it's just forward of the brake fluid reservoir on the left side of engine bay. Not my fault if you damage your trans.
  13. G'day mate, you could try this here http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/999-cool-easy-auto-tranny-mod/ I thought about doing something similar to mine and install a switch to cut off the torque converter. Apparently it's a brown coloured wire you should cut just forward of your brake fluid reservoir, cut the brown wire and then put a switch going from that. Not game enough to try it myself though.
  14. Main thing is you are ok. Cars can be fixed after accidents. People sometimes can't be fixed after accidents.
  15. Get some rope, loop it though the metal latch just below your rear glass (it's the metal latch that pops your rear glass.) then you'll have to fold one of your rear seats down so you can lean in and secure the rope to one or both of the metal tie downs on your rear cargo floor, pulling the rear trunk lid down. Even better I would probably just wrap the rope around one of the rear head rests and make sure it's tight. This should ensure the trunk doesn't come open until you can get the damage fixed.
  16. Cool, look forward to seeing the finished product. We like pics!
  17. Speaking of poltergeist activity, I remember back in 1996 I used to work at this old bakery. It was built back in the early 1950s and apparently during roof renovation work in the 1970s a guy fell to his death. Anyway since that time there had been reports of hauntings around the factory. One day one of my work colleagues came running in saying my car was beeping. It only happened when my car was parked at work. I also heard the footsteps in the hallway, when I was the only person left in the factory. Very spooky!
  18. Probably, yes. Just take it anyway, for spare parts are becoming rare these days.
  19. Yes, I tried taking a photo which worked, then I clicked attachment but it comes back with a message saying "The upload failed. Contact forum manager."
  20. Fixed Pic Link the photo didn't work. Im trying again
  21. Here is my center console fridge I installed, also has a warm function. I had to remove the whole center console and cut the back section off. Under neath the fridge I have a metal bracket which I measured and bent the end section over and screwed it into the existing left over plastic from the old console. I used two small angle brackets to secure it to the console where the original lid would have clipped in. Wiring is hidden under the console and works off the cig lighter.
