  1. I just leave mine like it id, at least the wife can get in without having to wait for me to unlock the door, that would be a pain.
  2. This just goes to show that proper preparation of the work surface must be done before installing such a big item. It's like having a wooden floor surface and just applying the lacquer over all the saw dust. Sure it's sealed, but will look like crap.
  3. Use methylated spirits it will absorb the water. Put that in the tank.
  4. Add some atf to the tank, cleans the carbon out of the fuel injectors too. Just 100 ml though, you won't need much. Also try changing your fuel filter or draining the fuel pump. There should be a plastic screw underneath it which you can turn to drain the water out.
  5. Where is the air relief valve? I just open my radiator cap and wait for the bubbles normally.
  6. Pulled all the floor mats out and threw them in the washing machine and vacuumed the whole interior and boot space, found a couple of biros under the front seats too so that was a bonus. Would be better if I found some coin though.
  7. But how good do those stay up there when you open the rear door? Wouldn't that add more weight to it and make it harder to keep open?
  8. I really want to put a big long red led strip that cycles up and back like Knight Rider but I'm afraid the police will find it most exciting.
  9. I ripped out the plastic speaker boxes that go over the rear wheel arches and mounted up a pair of home stereo Sony speaker boxes. I just got some angle brackets and screwed them to the sides of the speaker boxes and screwed the brackets to existing holes left from removing the original plastic. There's definitely more space either side now. In the future I want to cover the speakers with some nice material so it matches the interior and also so the material covers over the angle brackets because it looks a bit redneck.
  10. In Australia we have those interior led bulbs that fit into the little clippy bits instead of having to fiddle about soldering wires, I put one in mine that only has 6 leds but yeah it's heaps brighter than standard globes.
  11. Mine unlocks all doors with one turn of the key in the drivers side, I assumed that this was normal? It's got electric windows so I can always hit the 'all doors locked' switch when I get in if I have to. Passenger side door lock was tampered with, I think someone must have tried to break in a few years back because it wasn't like that when I got it.
  12. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/18579-how-to-replace-wd21-tire-carrier-bushings/ Try the how to topic or the rattle noise could just be your seat that the carrier seats onto needs adjusting up or down. Try loosening the seat at the bottom part and see if you can adjust it so the carrier clips in and seats properly. Mine will rattle if I haven't properly slammed it shut. My wife never closes it properly so I'll be driving along and every bump I hear a clunky te clunk noise and I immediately know it's the tire carrier!
  13. I'd also change all the fluids too if you are unsure of the history of oil changes. Get the brakes looked at while you get the wheel alignment done, get all the rubber bushings replaced if they are stuffed. You could easily spend a cool grand getting all that done but it's worth it instead of losing your brakes while going down a steep hill.
  14. To post the video, minimise npora and go to youtube. Go to the youtube video, copy the url then minimise, log on to npora then the topic you need, then simply go to add a comment but just paste the url. It should work.
  15. Just a tip on the refilling part, only add the same amount that you took out ie - four litres came out so put 4 fresh litres back in. The dipstick shows COLD on one side with a hash mark zone and on the other side it has HOT with a hash marked area. Some dipsticks may have these marks all on one side but this is how I found mine to be. Run the engine for 20 mins or just go for a drive to get the engine at proper warmed up running temperature, leave the vehicle in P and check the HOT level on the transmission - it should be near the top of the hash marked level and a nice reddish pink colour. Some of these trans have a drain plug on the pan, lucky mine has one so I don't have to get the pan off. Keep in mind just draining the pan doesn't drain all of the fluid, it only gets about half of the old out. The best way to get all of it out is taking off one of the trans lines to the trans cooler and then start up, the fluid will get pumped out at a fast rate so have a bucket under the trans line.
  16. Not glad to hear about your accident but glad to hear you are on the mend. Those bump stops are grinding metal on metal. As stated above it's a good idea to put some grease on the metal stops but you might be able to get the plastic bump stop screw on fittings brand new from Nissan. I've also heard coke bottle plastic caps fit but idk.
  17. Yeah same thing here, if I have parked on a slight incline I have to use the pin, otherwise I have to resort to Bruce Lee style arm block and you gotta react fast to block the bar!
  18. Cool I will have to check that out, +1 Precise1. If it's cheaper than what Superexpensive Auto can sell.
  19. I've put normal lithium grease into mine, via a plastic straw connected to the end of a grease gun. Couldn't get much into the holes, it kept coming back out so I just smeared it into the 'knuckles' until it was a coated, black mess. Had to wipe quite a lot of grease off but there's still heaps in there, that combined with ATF fluid and Wd40, the thing won't stay open by itself without using the metal pin. I regret using so much lube.
  20. Lol "jack" oil, for those lonely nights. Lol
  21. Over the last few days it's been starting first go, every time. I will get myself a multimeter though so I don't have to go to the auto shop all the time.
