  1. Let us know what you think of them. I need to get tires somewhat soon and those are on the list to consider. Are you going to go for taller springs at the same time? Or just shocks and struts keeping stock height?
  2. I say wait on a name like zero suggested... Mine got named Flapjack within a couple months.
  3. Did you jump it off a cliff? Or it was a "hell no you can't hold my beer" moment...
  4. I found some mud on a level B road today. It was fairly soupy for my A/Ts the fronts don't have much tread left.... but I didn't get stuck! And from a few weeks ago when I found some ruts full of water on a dirt road with a friend... This adventure reinforced my need for a new front skid plate... lol And I took the pathfinder kayaking fishing drinking on my last day off work.
  5. To upload photos you can put them on a hosting site such as photobucket and then copy and paste the img link into your post
  6. I did that on a Volvo. Soup cans hold up to the heat better....
  7. Lol good luck. And yes. If you find the thread, message fleurys with the design you want. He keeps the thread updated with the designs.
  8. If i were you i would go for it. If tires are all it needs that's not too bad. Plus you can start with whatever tires you want.
  9. That's not a bad spot. You can get rid of that pretty painlessly. Honestly that's in great shape. I would go for it. But then again i bought my 96 with more miles and in worse shape.
  10. Yeah. I'd go for the disconnect battery method much easier. You can also disconnect both battery cables and run a small jumper wire between them. You won't need to leave it sit for multiple hours waiting for capacitors to discharge. Just a couple minutes. You can make a small wire with alligator clips and 16 guage wire. This should also reset the air to fuel mixture tables to the defaults.
  11. Might drive it for a few days to see if it comes back. Are you getting any other signs of a bad sensor other than the code? Running rough/rich or hesitation? My scan tool is cheaper so i don't see that much feed backwhile scanning. It may need to be driven longer before a code pops again... I don't see anyway that you could have incorrectly reset the code
  12. You would just have to replace the bad sensor. That specific one is a pain to change. But generally a bad sensor is the cause of that code. I recently had to swap out that sensor after one I put in went bad. I went with ntk... The NGK brand in hopes I don't have it prematurely fail again like the cheap one i bought prior to this. I got mine from Rock auto for $45. They have a lot of choices ranging from 25 to 100 or so.
  13. FYI. Tapatalk has an issue. The error it gives when posting is false. Just reload and you should see the post.
  14. Unfortunately this is a post 1996 vehicle. In 96 due to federal regulations obd ports are now required. You need to use a scan tool. I ended up buying a cheap scan tool off of amazon for less than 20 bucks. You may be able to go to some parts stores and ask them to read it. The port is under the drivers side dash. Right where your knees sit.
  15. Welcome! Nice looking 2 door!
  16. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/11439-17-flashes-of-od-off-light/ Tried this. Nothing came up. Also have no codes. If a solenoid is bad, would I have a coffee come up on the scan tool?
  17. Yes it did. Actually shifted in smoother than forward. Still worked after that work too until Monday. No bad noises. Rpms do not change at all going from park to reverse to neutral. I suppose checking connections would be a good idea. Where is the solenoid located top of trans somewhere? Are solenoids known to randomly fail?
  18. I should add. The transmission acted just fine during that period. No odd shifts or delays. Also fluid doesn't really smell or look different from when I did a drain and fill 2 months ago. I think it smells funky to begin with. But really can't tell much difference between what's in the vehicle and the now empty jug.
  19. So... Is my auto trans toast? 96 pathfinder. I took it to a shop to get an issue fixed. Didn't have the tools up here to do it myself. In the process they removed the radiator. Also undoing the trans cooler lines. Long story short it was misdiagnosed and my starter died right before they did service and they still did it anyway. So they put it back together and I sat pissed off in their parking lot while waiting on a tow truck. Got parts ordered, installed myself, and back on the road. Drive it Friday to the store, Saturday to work, and Sunday to work. Which is 10 to 15 miles each way. Monday it would not go into reverse. Since then, I finally got it full with 3.5 quarts of atf. Still no reverse. Got it pushed out of the drive and took it on a short 1 to 2 mile drive since drive still engaged. All forward gears work and shift nicely. Still no reverse. Any advice? Are there air bubbles that may be trapped? Is it dead? I've called the shop once. I got the whole are you checking it correctly? Are you using the right type of atf? We only drained half a quart! Definitely going to call back and try to get the owner on the line. Any advice guys? I may be out of the pathfinder game again.... And right as I got all the issues fixed after I bought this damn thing.
  20. Open it up and take a picture of the connections to the speaker. A lot of us have the non Bose system but have replaced speakers with adapters. And if nothing else it is very simple to solder the wires onto a new speaker. The best part about the adapters is that you don't have to chop up original wiring. I have a 96 without Bose so it will have some differences in the process but I was able to change all 4 speakers and headunit (including wiring it up) while using adapters in about 2 hours. Just replacing speakers should be fairly simple even if you can't use adapters.
  21. Nice! I love this thread. Keep up the good work man!
  22. There is a poll in this thread. On the actual browser page it's at the top.
  23. That jap crap wasn't made for that... Quit showing how ignorant we are. Want to see my latest jeep bolt on?
  24. Ehh close enough. The typo becomes true once the keys turn off.
  25. Good choice sticking with the Nissan! And welcome! The pathfinder should be a lot more capable off road than the crv!
