  1. Hmmm. For my 96 they had the correct info. I fit 6 3/4" kicker speakers in. But a lot of options in 6.5 and the 6 3/4 all said installs with no issue. On mine I would have been better with 6.5 in the front as the ones I got were slightly big but the 6 3/4 went in the back perfectly.
  2. Try another shop. It may end up being more expensive. But that may be worth it if they have more experienced technicians.
  3. Alright making headway. So the AN 6 threaded on. But I don't have enough threads on the bit sticking out of the radiator to tighten it down. I cannot find any AN or SAE or JIC fittings that will fit without the swivel. Now npt fittings have female to hose barb fittings that are solid. Google assisted me in piecing together that AN 6 threads are the equivalent of npt 3/8x18 and the standard pitch on the 3/8 npt is 18... So I ordered a 3/8 fitting with npt threads... This should work as long as the damn part is actually solid like it appears to be and not a swivel!! Fingers crossed! This may be solved!
  4. If you find wiring that has been damaged or worn, it's usually easy to fix. But finding it isn't always easy. Electrical problems suck!
  5. 1. My guess is this fuse is blowing because it is shorting out on something else. Check the wiring and look for any exposed wires (eg. Something rubbing on a metal support) also double check that you have the right amp fuse. Somebody in the past may have replaced it with one they had laying around 2. Don't know which fuse and I have the prefacelift r50 3. Replace it all. Usually they are just old and worn out. I recently replaced the factory head unit and all four factory door speakers. Made a world of difference. If you already have after market speakers I bet you do still have the factory amp and that is the issue. Someone else may have better advice but that might be a place to start
  6. ..... So frustrated right now. Got the parts in. Yes they screwed on. But not enough threads to tighten down. Emailed the place to ask if they had a non swivel version. They said no and asked for a picture. Then told me it's sae and to go look at propane plumbing items at home depot. Back to square one. I may try Napa and the hardware store in town again. And try to avoid talking to people attempting to help as all they did last time was tell me they had nothing that would work as soon as I started describing where the piece was and what the dimensions were... If I loosen the nut on there antifreeze starts leaking immediately... I don't think I probably have any wiggle room to get more threads.
  7. Welcome! And don't forget to post some pictures! The majority of us are in regions with pathfinders. So, we would all like to ogle a patrol!
  8. Yes number 6 female to 3/8 barb. Thanks guys, I was slightly annoyed yesterday from the time wasted at local stores to come up with less than nothing! I'm alright with ordering parts instead of driving to another store. From my area I'm assuming the closest store that would carry these would be 45 miles or more away. I'm not needing to drive out right now... So I can wait another few days! Nothing weird on the transmission end. He didn't get any further back than those hoses. Thankfully... With that level of jerry rigging
  9. And 2 ordered. From an online source. Screw trying to find a specialty store that has what I want in Iowa...
  10. It's not. Those guys looked at me like Nissan's are made on the moon. To be driven by the martian tourists.
  11. Thanks for the help guys! Also I should ask because I was hesitant to mess with it too much. Does that fitting unscrew from there? Or is it sandwiched by washers and nuts on both sides? I will definitely be looking into sizing so I make sure I find the right fitting so I don't end up ordering or buying a bunch of junk I don't need. Edit: the 3/8 fitting they had at fastenal started on but didn't want to thread on more than a couple of turns so I did not force the issue.
  12. That's a stepping stone towards finding something... Fastenal had a bunch of jic but no an. I will look into that. Still probably going to have to go to junk yards though... I love these easy "looking" projects
  13. So I wasted my day off yesterday trying to fix a PO f up. So the previous owner replaced the radiator and jerry rigged the auto trans cooler lines going into the bottom. There are supposed to be barbed hose connectors to go to the lines. This guy took air hose and hose clamps and made something work. Napa, fastenal, and other stores couldn't help. So I'm going to be calling around to junk yards to try to locate a 96-99 r50. Can anyone with an auto trans tell me how those house barbs are attached? Mine has... A 3/8 pipe fitting for but the threads were different. And a 1/2 inch nut was too small and 5/8 nut was too big.... While trying to find the thread/size. Napa can get me a new radiator... And Nissan shows I can replace the bottom section of radiator. Don't want to do that if I don't have to... So before I head to a jy does anyone know if there is actually a fitting that screws on??? Or whether my time would be better spent buying a new radiator and tracking this guy down to kick him in the balls? Lol jk. Also looks like my maf might be bad. Clean it and it runs nice... And slowly gets rougher after a few miles. Had a code pop up yesterday. So I have to run that before I go buy a sensor but I'm guessing that is what is the cause of that issue.... Oh... And this was used to splice one of the air hoses onto the original line... Yes. I found that jammed into the trans cooler line... Edit: spelling
  14. Probably letting air in before your o2 sensors. Causing them to show that it's running lean. And dumping extra gas in to compensate.
  15. Thanks! Would have rather that never had happened. That pathfinder ran great at 210k miles. But as it is... Lesson learned! Edit: phone autocorrects
  16. Hello, I'm from Iowa. Just bought a 96 r50. I actually bought it almost 2 years to the day I wrecked my wd21. I had signed up right after I bought my old 95. Mostly lurk and read for things I'm working on. My 95 was awesome. Until... I feel sleep late one night.... When I shouldn't of been driving anyway. So I sold it off to a jy disgusted with myself. I really didn't get hurt. A couple of scratches and a small concussion from my head hitting the b pillar when I slid into a culvert in a ditch. Which is what tripped it up and caused it to roll. Learned my lesson and moved on. Wasn't looking too hard for another pathy. But this one seemed right. Cheap and didn't need much to get her going again. Before I got it. It had o2 sensor codes. So I replaced those and the cat on that side. Still was stumbling when I took it to get a new flex pipe welded into the exhaust. Old one was rusted out. The guy suggested looking at the maf. Sounded reasonable as to why it would stumble and have given o2 codes. So I got it cleaned up. Didn't look dirty.... But apparently it was. Runs a hell of a lot better now. First put the maf back in after cleaning and it ran worse and kept dying before getting out of the driveway... Got as far as just taking my shoes off going inside when I remembered I hadn't plugged it back in. Woops. Plugged in and no more stumbles. So, plans... New windshield. 2 big cracks in this one. New head unit plus speakers. The stock one is worn out. Maybe a new battery. This one does not feel like it has much for cranking amps and doesn't seem to have much juice if I'm messing around and the inside lights are on. Plus it's 4 years old. Probably time. Paint... Probably just rattle can make it look better than it currently does. And then paint wheels, brush guards, roof rack etc. As all of that is faded too. Potentially get taller springs and slightly bigger tires later. Right now it has 30x9.50x15 And try and hit an obscene number for milage. It's got 269k miles and drives pretty darn well for that! Also it's got all the electronic junk. Compass, temp, seat heaters, etc. An lsd. Leather seats. Excited to be back in a pathy. But the score right now is. Pathfinder=0 Ben=1
  17. I can't find anything local. I'm in the land of the big 3. I'm lucky if I can find a pathfinder in a jy. And the z? Forget it not in this state. I usually start looking for parts online and if I need something now I go to the parts stores. End up paying more but my wait time is 1 to 2 days rather than 4 to 5. Agree on the jerryrigging. My best so far was using hinges and random bolts to make my steering wheel puller into a crankshaft pulley puller.
  18. The o2 sensors should sort that out. I will know once the parts get here. But I'm waiting on shipping... Because I'm unwilling to spend double the money at a local store where I still have to wait a couple days!
  19. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to change the left due to the amount of gas shooting through the system. I will probably look at the one on the right while under there and replace it if needed. I can always send the unused part back. Edit. Excited to be back in possession of a pathy again. Been away for 2 years almost to the day of buying this one. I will have to make a new welcome post. This one looks to be in great shape. Not much rust at all. Fluids I have glanced at have been clean, front end and suspension is tight, brakes are good, and it's got 2 fairly new tires. Once I get it running properly I will change filters and fluids as needed, replace the cracked windshield, and do something to make the paint less faded and sunbaked.
  20. I'm just going to order both sides. It's got 268k miles. Chances are they are both bad or the right side isn't too far off from failing too.
  21. So I just bought a 96 for fairly cheap. I know the guy I bought it from so I believe what he told me about the vehicle. He's only had it a couple months and didn't do much with it because of a project on his 240sx. He told me it had a cel pop up right after he bought it corresponding to bank 2 o2 sensors 1 and 2. So I plan on replacing both of those. Driving it home I did have characteristic sputtering to o2 sensors not functioning. My last pathy had a bad one when I first got it. But during the long drive home I noticed a greasy sheen on the back window and on the windshield of the other vehicle. It appeared to be unburnt fuel. I was getting terrible gas milage. And the residue does not look like oil and it's not coolant. So I'm assuming it is in fact gas. So with that much going through the exhaust I'm assuming the bank 2 cat needs replaced. While I'm at it how do I check the other to make sure it is good or not? Any quick tests to see if it is bad or should I just err on the side of caution and replace both cats? Also the cel did not come back on during my drive home. But it still was sputtering and running poorly.
