  1. I have the same ones shoesandsocks does and have had no issues with either installation or use. Mine were just over $100 CAD but $20+ was for shipping to Canada.
  2. Not sure what your backspacing is with the OEM wheels or what it wil be with new wheels but here's what I experienced: On my 1998, the original tires were 235/70/15. Sucky doodle!!!! When we bought the truck, they were replaced with 255/65/15 Radial Rovers (roughly the same size as a 30X9.5X15. With the original LE wheels (mesh-like) they rubbed the driver's side wheel well trim (with the outer shoulder blocks)and unibody on the passenger side (with the inner shoulder blocks) every time I put it in reverse and turned the wheel all the way to the right. Later on (last year) I changed my wheels to some ARE's with 3.75" backspacing and had some on-road-worthy 235/70/15's on again. I quickly got a flat (sliced sidewall) and got meself some 30X9.5X15 radials. They still rubbed the same places, but not as much. Later, I thought, with the lift the rubbing would go away...it did but only on the driver's side. The passenger side rubs lower on the Unibody (although not as much as before)I will try and post photos of the locations once I get my Path back.
  3. I don't have the A/C lift but did the Old Man Emu lift with spacers all at once and regret it. I achieved a lift of 3" with the OME/Spacer, same as the AC + spacer. I was expecting 1.5" lift. The inboard boot on my passenger-side half-shaft pulled off its track and spewed grease all over. I would say, in my opinion, (even thought it does not make sense from a do-it-right-the-first-time point-of view, I think doing it right means waiting for things to settle...I think exbrit did the same thing I did (with AC springs) and decided to pull the spacers off because it was causing too much trouble. Personally, now that I found a half-shaft that will probably work on my path (all others I tried to replace the leaky one with kept binding) I will wait another two months for the suspension to settle further before replacing it.
  4. Amen to that Brah! Somethign IS better than nothing...funny asked them today if they would or could guarantee this was the issue...they said, no guarantees but once this is out of the way, any other issues would be a piece of cake to find. Good luck with yours...I hat playing the waiting game... Ye sure did rebelord, ye sure did...I hope the manifold is not warped in any way...
  5. Apparent culprit: Lower intake manifold gasket. There is vacuum leak between the head and lower manifold. They're going to change the knock sensor and fuel pressure regulator while they're in there too. PS - They tested the temp sensor and readings are normal with no spikes or sudden changes of any kind.
  6. Awesome work! That's a thing 'o beauty that is!
  7. Hey Kingman, I too am annoyed with them and thank you for suggesting they check the ECU Coolant temp sensor. I will find out if they have at the very least, tested it...(I'm not sure how this would affect idle in the way its affecting my ride...had I known I may have suggested it myself.) According to them they've checked All four O2 sensor readings, short and long term fuel trims on each bank, the timing advance, TPS values, MAF values, etc and nothing is out of whack. According to the service manager, they've also done compression and voltage testing to see if maybe the alternator is causing things to wonky...nothing. Everything within necessary parameters. They've had three different technicians work on the vehicle, one with 27 years' experience and even he is stumped. They've called in their Nissan Service Hotline (in front of me, while I wait) for guidance and noting came of it. Hey stioc, Yes, you did mention it and I am having trouble with finding another reputable shop that knows Nissans as well as these guys do. The one reputable independent shop I know of, although they work on all brands, works mainly on Subies and Volvos. Their wait list is huge and they are fairly far from me. I had a subie before which I took to them (they replaced my prop shaft) and stopped by to ask the master tech/owner, explaining my woes and what I had done to try and mitigate the problems. He suggested taking it to a place that specializes in Nissans. He was so busy he didn't want to deal with it himself. I was quite surprised 'cause he was extremely helpful on prior occasions. The long and short of it is that this dealership has the best service-satisfaction outcome of all of the ones near me. They are the closest to me and this is, really, my only option. I guess i'm just going to have to wait...in the meantime, I will suggest the ECU coolant temp sensor and/or the PCM as the culprits. Thanks for all your input.
  8. If you have no luck rounding peeps up for a JA ML and you're in a hurry to get something like it, you might want to contact Fleurys, he has his own version of the link which I would imagine is just as useful... I believe he uses his as an attachment point for front and mid bash plates too. Just sayin'...
  9. Still no word... called 'em today and apparently they checkd the plugs, wires and distributor and found no issues. Spark, compression and timing are good. They are going to swap my old MAF back in to see if its the MAF...I doubt it...maybe the PCM...? They are at a loss for words...
  10. link to mine... some of the photos are not showing but if you click on one that does work, once you're on the page, you'll be able to see 'em all. Snorkel
  11. I didn't use much, just a dab...with me pinky...only on some cause my friend convinced me somewhat... Wow, its been three days and still no word from Nissan...Can't believe this is so hard to diagnose...
  12. You'll find lots more on the link HERE
  13. I've had a KalTire refuse to align my R50, even before I lifted it...some garages suck! Its good though, 'cause I got my alignment done for a bit cheaper and they identified issues that were easily rectified. Sometimes its a blessing (although it does not seem that way when you need the work done) having to go somewhere else.
  14. Not yet. all day in the shop yesterday (probably sat there all lonely for most of the day) and still no suspects. However, I was brainstorming today and had a thought... When the plugs were installed, anti-seize was rubbed onto the threads of some and that got me thinking...the issues I am experiencing now could be caused by a plug that is working its way out of its bedding... Let me explain. Two days ago, when they sprayed brake fluid on the plugs and wires, we heard a very loud "pfft" noise, twice; as if pressurized air was being pushed out. There is a very faint knocking sound (as if something is loose) coming from within the engine, a loose spark plug would create poor spark, causing the car to run rich and stumble which would get worse as the engine warms up and expands, loosening up the plug. Lastly, my buddy found an article where it states that using anti-seize on plugs is not always a good idea as some mechanics have found that plugs spin themselves out of their socket due to the car's vibration...especially when screwed into aluminium heads. Now, I may be wrong on all counts, however I think its worth a mention to the dealership, don't you?
  15. Niiice theexbrit, Wicked set-up. I am wondering about a couple of things like: The platform for your fridge...it is removable, correct? You have it bolted to the seat belt tie-downs? What did you use underneath it to keep it level? That metal bar...is it just a spreader bar to hang stuff on? And you use it to keep stuff from sliding/rolling forward and as an attachment point for bungees? That is great! I am tired of my table with folding legs and (when I get me truck back) am thinking of putting in something more...permanent (like STIOC's set up but with drawers instead of cubbies, 2 drawers in the centre and a cubby on each side) I still need the rear seats for my kids so I can't touch anything beyond the cargo compartment. Gotta think ahead as we may be getting a dog in the near future and I want to be able to fit him in there along with a cooler, and camping stuff.
  16. THanks S, I thought of doing that but we discovered it late yesterday evening and the Pathy was already at the dealership so, they kept it and are diagnosing today. The biggest issue was that I was not getting any codes at all so they could not find which direction to go. I guess they are so reliant on the OBDII system now that it almost seems like "if it ain't got a code it ain't broken". Maybe its a spark plug...replaced them recently, along with wires...all NGK.
  17. Hey qatcool, I doubt it since they only replaced the hoses near the rear of the engine...i seriously think it might be a vacuum leak now. What are the odds. I've replaced almost every sensor and component in the engine bay to do with air/fuel and spark... Yesterday as they were diagnosing with me after the injector cleaning, it sounded like it was running on 5 instead of 6 cylinders...no grey or blue smoke though...and I'm not burning/loosing any oil...
  18. Glad to hear the problem is all cleared and hasn't come back. If it does come back though, make sure you check all vacuum lines and electrical you moved or may have moved...once I took the car in for servicing and they never re-attached the negative terminal so every time I accelerated the terminal would pull away from the battery and everything would die. Didn't take a genius to figure that one out. Too bad about the $$. They're probably laughing their ass off...
  19. Yah...that kinda stuff comes first...maybe Craigslist for now...
  20. i thought replacing the IACV required the removal of the upper IM? I tried getting at it without removing the upper IM to clean it but wasn't able to... oh well...for now I'll just enjoy driving a new car. With any luck me pathy'll come back to me running like a champ!
  21. Actually they did take the IM off when they replaced the IACV. There is a very slight chance the IM warped due to water splashing on it, but very, very slight as the water did not get that high inside the engine bay (only bow-wave). I checked immediately after I went through that shallow lake and found no evidence of water on or near the IM... They are stumped. They've used three different Master Mechanics on my truck and they have not yet been able to figure out exaclty what the issue is. Apparently they've seen vehicles with similar but not equal symptoms roll through their garage...each had a different issue...I hope its just a vacuum leak and not something more serious...I found out today that injectors for YoDa are $200 a piece... All in all, they've been absolutely phenomenal. Very friendly and they take the time to explain exactly what they are doing to the vehicle, every time. Very helpful. I was thinking of going to a second dealership but these guys have been so great I'm going to stick with 'em. They'll be doing vacuum tests on the IM and the TB gaskets tomorrow...
  22. So, I took it to the dealership, they diagnosed it but couldn't find an answer. I didn't mention the service bulletin until they were about to send me away, telling me they couldn't find the issue. I then spoke to their manager and together we looked at what the options were when getting P0300 (oh, yeah...I got that one today) So, the did the flush and it did nothing for me truck. They were going to blame my snorkel saying there was a leak. I told him to test it so he put his hand on on the intake hole, covering it and me pathy promptly died. I noticed that the only place that has not been touched is the gasket between the TB and the IM (IM was removed and replaced when the IACV was changed) so they did a test wehre they sprayed brake fluid all over the engine, including the distributor and plugwires to see if anything changes. When they sprayed the IM at the gasket, they thought it sucke it up there pretty quickly...then they did the gasket between the TB and IM. There, we heard a gasping/sucking sound so they kept the truck and are going to diagnose. They did not charge me for the injector cleaning (yet) but I am getting fed up with the amount of $$ I am sinking into this truck without results. For now, I guess I have to be happy driving around in the fully loaded 2013 Sentra they gave me as a loaner...
