But its okay because i bought another one!!! I have been needed to replace my rig for a little while. My parents recently moved 300 or so miles away, and i visit them frequently, and my 96, manual with the 4.6 gearing doesn't do very well at 75 MPH, But yesterday i went on craigslist and found a 2003 LE, black on black for fair deal, went and looked at it, and it all check out, except for the codes, the car has the Camshaft posistion sensor code thrown on it, which caused to have zero power once the car got warm, so im towing it home and ordering the part now. But that's all i have for an update, i plan on removing a lot of the goodies i have on my pathfinder and sticking them on the new one, so that will be fun. but i FINALLY get to install my JDM porjectors that i have had for 2 1/2 years!! So excited On to the crappy craigslist pics. Cant wait to throw all of my fun parts at it! -Kyle

R50 Tire Carrier Mod: Let's settle this!
ferrariowner123 replied to hawairish's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I've got an extra just sitting incase anyone wants one, its missing the latch mechanism, but should still be good otherwise (got it off a wreck so im not %100 on its condition.) Im just in Fall City, only about 20 minutes away. I had no idea there were so many R50 owners on NPORA so close to me! Really want to see Town Dogs now. -Kyle -

Hey Guys! Hope everyone is doing well. Well its been a while since i have posted anything mainly due to work, but pathy decided she wanted some attention today. The bearings on the water pumped decided to not work, and just explode, made the most terrifying sound! I have already ordered a new OEM water pump, along with some OEM rad hoses and a new Gates timing belt and tensioner (might as well). I figured i'd start ripping into her while she was down and do a little inspection, since it had been quite a while since i had done one. Glad i did, the radiator end tanks are so soft and brittle, the top hose connection completely sheared off while removing it. I did a quick search and found that while an OEM radiator is outrageously priced at $500, aftermarket ones are much more economical. But being the aftermarket, not all are created equal. So does anyone have some suggestions they can give on some replacements they have had success with. Maybe even an all aluminum one? Thanks guys. -Kyle

Definitely want some info on a diesel swap, if anyone has done it. If the QD doesn't work out. Try and get a ford 7.3 in there! Or even better the 6.7! Haha -Kyle

Definitely going to do this on my rig. Thanks for sharing! -Kyle

Ahh yes!! Another drifter making his way into the forum. Welcome! I'm excited to see some of the JDM mods you are planning, sound like a lot of the stuff I want to do. It seems that you already have the low down on some of the JDM sources but I might be able to help track down some parts should you need a hand. Again, welcome! -Kyle

That's the WJ bumper mod. Just search WJ bumper and you should get andy's original post about making the bumper fit and some in depth photos. CDN also posted some when he did his mod, don't remember how in depth he went but it's worth a look seeing how he went about mounting it. -Kyle

Really? Dang talk about an egg on face moment. My apologies for the misinformation -Kyle

Well with how cheap these cars are getting, buying an auctioned off wreck is definitely the way to go. It helps having a complete car to work with, removes a good chunk of the guess work. Copart is a huge insurance auction company dealing in cars and have tons of yards all over the country. I know of atleast 3 in Washington state alone. And we're talking acres and acres of land and thousands of cars! I can try and point you in the right direction should you choose to go that route, might even want some parts off ya. I have personally never bought a wreck but I did a lot of research into it and my uncle hits up the yard atleast once a month (the dude has got a problem for sure. Lol) -Kyle

Just go Rockford. There have been zero issues with those who have installed them. They cost a little more but are built to a higher standard. -Kyle

all models of R50 pathfinder will allow for an interior swap, I've got door cards from an 01 in my 96 right now. Other than the huge hassle of converting the window switches it was a bolt on affair. Seats are the same thing, I think you can even swap power seats (the cushion parts) to manual frame if you prefer manual like I do. I day dream about buying a wrecked late model and fully converting it all over to my 96. maybe one day I'll actually do it. Lol Let me know if you have any specific questions. -Kyle

I've tried doing that, it's not something police in my area are really worried about, but it's not technically legal. If you want to get really trick, they make show and drive plates that are manual or automatic. they can fold out of the way for car shows and then fold out for driving. That would be cool to see. -Kyle

I liked that picture and then un-liked it after reading the caption. Sad to see her and you leave but on to bigger and better things... -Kyle

Uh did i miss something? Please explain.. -Kyle

Very tempted to put the last half in my signature.... Man, I just realized I'm gonna miss seeing your build thread when I check the R50 section.... -Kyle

Dang it man! Well let me know what you end up doing with front bumper. Sad to see you go man. -Kyle

The plate you mentioned in this post, the one under the shiftier assembly, you were referring to that right? -Kyle

The stock wheel back spacing is fairly rotten, if I had been running my duratracs on my stock SE wheels. The spring perch on the struts would be hitting the tire, probably so much so you couldn't actually bolt the wheel on. Some people run spacers to help push the wheel away, giving it a more aggressive look and fixing the tire contact problems. If you look in the wheel and tire thread there are few pictures showing just how close the tire gets the spring perch, even after getting new wheels. -Kyle

What he said. I have had my pathfinder for almost 7 years and have changed my belts atleast 4 times within that span (everything but the ps belt. I think I've done that once) but this last time i was fed up of paying OEM belt money. I bought some gator back belts, and all new tensioner and pulley. She purrs now. But I did the big change at 155k and the A/C pulley bearing definitely wasn't healthy. I think I paid around $60 for an OEM pulley and an aftermarket tensioner. Worth it in my opinion. I'd say if you keep getting belt issues, maybe it's time for some new tensioner and pulley. -Kyle

Head back to the junkyard and get the block off plate from the car you got the harnness from. It should have the correct plate. Grab the gasket too! Glad to see your making progress on this. Post up if you have questions. There are more than a few geniuses on here who are willing to help. -Kyle
