  1. Hey Tugsten what would the difference be? If anything i wanna say it runs better and doesnt have to suck as hard to get air. The tubes coming off the box didnt seem like they where getting really good access to air.
  2. A old guy from north AZ drove 4hrs to come pic up a trailor full of pathy parts from me. I bought some wheels a couple months ago and decided it was time to mess with them. I had to fix a couple of spots along with polishing them back to life. Well the polishing didnt go so well so i found a pro that could do it for me. Yesterday morning the wife wanted me to go yard selling with her and the little one so i tagged along. I picked up some 33 Pro Comp MT's from a lady for $50. I dont think that was a bad deal? I plan on running them to see how i like the 33x12.50 and then ill sell my 31s and put that $ into new tires or a susp lift. I would like to run 33x10s i like the looks of a tall narrow tire so i will have to do some research and see who makes that size MT tires I also put a new filter setup on my pathy Went from this To this
  3. Yeah the way the filter box was it was sucking air from under the hood. I dont understand how alot of people say they have a cold air intake when there filter is sucking hot air from there engine bay. Just becuase there is a chrome tube they say its a cold air intake. Its olny cold till the engine heats up lol.
  4. Took the woody out to a spot where we take the rc crawlers out to play. Over time the path getting back there has gotten worse but its not to bad. I managed to get pics and video but the video sucks becuase the gopro makes it look like i was on flat ground and my computer wont let me edit it so im oly posting pics.
  5. I plan on cutting my plastic vent inserts on the front of my hood for more air flow and the driver side i will end up fabbing up some sort of air box that will act like a ram air setup.
  6. When bolting the maf back up you will see you will have to have two shorter bolts. This is where its going to get interesting for you. luckily i had some brackets laying around and was able to use one. After twisting it to my needs it fits really nice in there. I did have to remove one of the factory brackets to allow the filter to sit down in the whole. And thats it.
  7. Hey guys figured i would post these pics up. Not sure if this would be considered a cold air intake. I know alot of guys weld up adapter plates and do the same thing but i didnt feel like pulling my welder out and i dont have time at work to fab one up. So hopfully this can help the guys that dont have access to a welder. I installed a 3" body lift on my pathy and after it was done i then relised the tube going to my factory airbox was in a major bind and stretching. So after a couple mins of looking at what i had i came up with this. This is the inside of the top section of the air box There is two rivet like peices that hold the goldish plate on. I blended the one that you can get to from inside the box. The other one i had to drill the back side of it. Once those are out of the way it should come out pretty nice. After i got it out and started looking at it and my filter i got from my local autozone for $25. The filter comes with adapters i ended up using the 3 1/2" one. The metal plate is curved out and wouldnt want to fit into my adapter so i made some releave cuts into the ring every 1" then bent those down to fit in the filter. I dont have pics of this but its fairly easy and it seals good and tight.
  8. Hey guys thanks for the help. After talking to my Dad more about it he said when he bought it they bought it with tow package. So it was rated for 6,000 and i went and picked up the uhual and loaded my little Hardbody on it and it squated that pathy pretty good lol. But after talking more with the guy that had the bug he had a pretty crazy story about how he didnt have a title so i backed out of the trade till he can get one.
  9. Hey guys need a little help here. This is my Plan B that will most likly be happining. Im getting rid of my 88 nissan hardbody (single cab 2 wheel drive short bed pickup lowered) and im trading it for a vw bug thats also hammered more then the truck. If i cant find a deisel to pull it with im looking at using my parents 2007 pathfinder with a v-6 Auto with a towing hitch Not bumper ball mount. I believe the hitch is rated at 3,500lbs. My trip is 186 miles one way all flat dessert roads no big hills. Will my parents pathy have any problems pulling the truck on the trailor? The trailor i plan on using is not quit a car trailor but they use it to haul rhinos and quads to the dunes and its long enuff and wide enuff to fit my truck. Another option is to rent a U-Haul dolly and it says on there i must remove my drive shaft on the truck is that really necessary to do so?(Truck is hammered and will be a bitch to get under there and and unbolt and re bolt it when i get there so he can test drive it) Or is the U-haul just covering there ass? Never used one before and there web site says that my two trucks pathy and hardbody are not allowed for there car hualer. Any help and thoughts on these questions will be greatly appreciated Thanks Guys Ryan
  10. There is alot of guys building micro rc trucks out of model bodies and the losi micro crawler. Im just the first to build it with the pathy body that i know of. You should try and build one but i will tell you its hard to work on them due to the size and it took me alot of mini fabbing to get the susp to work right with the stock model frame. You could use make a custom frame out of plastic or some guys use brass and braze it together. There is also companys that make mini chassies that use plastic leafsprings but im not sure how it would fit under this body. LOL its ok and thanks. Yeah you should build one there a blast to play with. So i have to do a update here soon with pics. I got it finished up and painted. It still needs some trimming in the front becuase the tire likes to bind up when it gets stuffed into the well. But i took it to the side of the house to play on the rocks for the first time but what i found was way better. Water and what does water and dirt make??????????? Thats right MUD lol I couldnt resist so i dipped off into it. It didnt do so good becuase all the wait is in the rear but now that i know i can fix that and my tires are model tires so there kinda stiff and got packed pretty good with mud. I did happen to shoot some video with my phone but when i played it on my computer there was no sound. And i also dont know how to post vids? Pics coming
  11. Yeah mine is a 94 auto with a body lift hehehe forgot to mention that part. So I should be able to squeeze it out between the bottom of the wheel well and top of frame?
  12. Hey guys quick question I keep reading how everyone takes the oil filter off to swap the starter. I have a free oil change at my local Nissan and would like to swap my starter before i take it to them. Or can I take my oil filter off with out it completely draining and swap new starter then take it to Nissan?
  13. Thanks guys. It gets more flex its just really light right now. I wanna keep it looking close as posible to my pathy but once I get all the electonics and scale goodies on it ill see how it performs and if it needs more weight up front I may build some arb bumpers instead of wheel weights.
  14. Starting to come together i also got the steering servo mounted just have to make the steering linkages.
  15. OK guys its been awhile since i have posted any updates. I couldnt figure out how to mount the front axle so i put it in my tool box at work at thats where it sat till the other day i decided to take a look at it and it hit me i figured out how to mount it lol. Here is some pics More pics coming, waiting on Photobucket
  16. Thanks man i love my pathy. Next step is to get my exhuast done, sound system, Trans cooler mounted, susp lift, Mount my jerry can and highlift jack and so on and so on lol I figured i would post these pics up. NOTE!!!!! MAKE SURE YOUR MOUNTS ARE NOT BENT IN ANY WAY AND TO GET A STRAIGHT CUT!!!!!!!!! I had some extra front bumper mounts laying around and grabbed them on my way to work to cut and weld them (factory ones where still connected to the bumper). Well not really looking at them that good i made my marks and cut then tacked them together. After getting home the next day and mocked them up is when i relised my cuts where not straight up and down like they should be.Come to find out my passenger side mount was in a fender bender. with the way i cut them when i moved the front half up 3" it moved up and back which made the bumper not line up at all. So after i found the right spot i put in my gusset and fully welded it up. After the bumper was mounted i then had to clean all the mud off and out from under it. THAT SUCKED and was not worth the couple mins of me getting to play around in the mud.
  17. Hey guys i have read and searched but couldnt find anything that really helped me out. I have a 94 pathy v6 4x4 auto tranny 150,000. My question and problem is every now and then when i go to start my pathy the starter sounds like it doesnt engage all the way. Its a real load noise (grinding) and embarassing. When it happens i just stop and then retry it again and it usually starts up it has done it a second time in a row but then starts up on the 3rd crank. Im wondering is my starter going bad? Maybe alot of crud inside of it? Im guessing its the factory starter with 150, miles. Is the soleniod going out or getting bad? Or my worse fear is, Is my fly wheel fudged up? Everytime it does it is the starter engageing in a spot where there is no teeth on my fly wheel? Im thinking too if there isnt any teeth for it to grab and is making that noise then how does it usually crank up after it happens. It would have to grab the bad teeth good enuff to turn it to get ahold of good teeth but then it would have started? Idk My brain hurts from thinking about it. Please help me out on this. Thanks Guys Ryan
  18. I finally installed my body lift and wow what a job that was by my self but i got it done. I had some speed bumps like the one bolt that didnt want to come out of the front bumper mount so i cut it off then i was able to get the whole bolt out. Then i went on a wild chase for rad hoses. The top was easy but the bottom was crazy. I ended up using the stock one after trying to see how it fit. I was able to slide it up ferther and it didnt kink. Go figure. I still have to figure out my front bumper mounts and raising the rear up. I went for a test drive and found some mud wholes. Ill try getting some pics of it all cleaned up and with the bumpers done.
  19. Body lift is done!!!!!! woohoo syill have to make front bumper mounts. i went out and test drove it and found some mud. let just say iy was deeper then i thought and i abought got stuck in 2x4 lol but the ole pathy wooped it. pics coming

  20. Just got off work and niw im in the drive way tearing the pathy down and installing my body lift by myself. i should be a happy camper by tomorrow afternoon.

Sounds like fun. I cant wait to see picks. I am still trying to decide if I just want to do the body lift or suspension lift. Leaning towards the body lift

do them both... if u plan on running any kind of real size tire on the wd21.... 31s will only get you so far (considering they usually measure out to 30")

  21. The way i would build tube arms i would have to make jigs and really dont want to lol. I have it in my head to modify stock stuff and im just kinda going with it lol. I dont plan on paying the prices from a JY. There are a couple pathys being parted out by private sellers hopfully i can pick some up for cheap.
  22. Yeah thats what i was planning on doing getting them from a yard. And yeah that was another concern with the bump stop area. Well i got alot of my concerns answered and i guess its time to get some and just cut them up. I can always recess the bump stop sectin into the arm a bit. i guess i can just play with them and see what i come up with. Thanks agian guys i plan on updating this thread with what i find out.
