  1. HOLY fskc!!! Elk? Moose? What are these???? They sure ain't some regular deer we have down here. That's ridiculous. ELK??! Where does this guy live?? Oh, Alaska. Alright, seems normal.
  2. I've been wondering about OEM parts from Nissan for a while. Are these parts that have been remade recently, or at these parts sitting around from the 70s? I can't imagine a company out there remaking pretty much entire vehicles that are 40 years old. But then again, I can't imagine warehouses full of thousands of unassembled vehicles.
  3. I don't even know how you would measure HP on a forklift. Put a forklift on a dyno? lol? I like how the swing arm has a Fender guitar logo on it. Toyota sticker, Toyota sticker, Toyota sticker...FENDER!! Even the stool that the bike is resting on has Toyota logos. Like jeez Toyota, I'm sure it's just gonna break anyway. It's not like you have 60 years of experience making these bikes or anything. And when it does break, I'm sure Toyota is gonna be like "it still works perfectly. What chu talkin' bout?" Edit: almost forgot to include the MUSCLE MILK logo on the fork arm.
  4. torsion bars can go bad...? So today (yesterday actually) I reassembled my entire interior and got my broken exhaust manifold studs out. There were 4 total that I couldnt get out. 2 were broken in the head, and 2 were unbroken. I got one of the unbroken ones out by using two nuts and a wrench, but the other one didn't work that way. I even had three nuts on there and it would just spin them off. I drilled all the way to the head and then broke it off with a hammer. Then I drilled into the head about halfway and used a reverse thread bit (an easy out, but another brand). Man, those reverse thread bits worked like a dream. OMG. It took me about 45 minutes to get all three of them out. Too bad it took me 3 hours with visegrips on the two unbroken ones to think about using a drill. To think about using a drill and overcoming my fear of accidentally ruining my engine while doing it. I'm not sure why people are scared of it not being centered. I'm 17 years old, and I've never drilled anything in my life before. I got the drill centered on the studs on my first try. Just put it in the middle and pull the trigger guys, no big deal. LOL
  5. Yeah, phone cameras aren't always horrible. So..I don't think you understand how lucky you are that I just happened to take a whole bunch of pictures of my engine without my transmission in. Wow, glad to be able to help. Not to be conceited, but I just randomly took some pictures of my engine for fun and 3 hours later, here you are asking for those exact pictures.
  6. That didnt work worth a damn. I put two on there. Did it properly and it just turned both of them. I even tried three nuts. No luck. I drilled all the way though it to the head and broke it off with a hammer. Then I drilled it into the head and used an easy out.
  7. How do you get the studs out? This thread didn't really answer how to get the studs out other than drilling them. I want to get out my unbroken studs. I don't want them to break down the road. How do I get those out? Other than visegrips I have no idea.
  8. "Once again, Toyota ingenuity and engineering have been combined to introduce new and dramatic advancements in design." While using a GM 4.3l. LOLOL. I know these forklifts are designed to lift 15000 pounds or whatever, but I don't understand why you need the biggest v6 engine on the market to do it. And I understand even less why you would sap its 190hp to 90hp. That must be a huge head gasket. That or they are restricting air flow like a bitch.
  9. Is it worth mentioning that nothing Italian runs? Fiat? HA! Fix it again, Tony! Lancia? Oh boy, I get goosebumps just thinking about Lancia's. Lambos and Ferraris...no comment. Do I even have to mention Alfa Romero's? Probably the least reliable cars ever.
  10. I can't thank you enough. Both of you. I have no idea what I would have done without this. I couldn't find it for the life of me on my phone and I didn't have any easy access to a computer. I guess I would have been another day behind schedule. Thanks again. I put 80ft lbs. They seem to be on there pretty good. Hell if I was going to put my flywheel on without the proper torque.
  11. A Nissan overheating? hmmm. I'm puzzled. If I didn't know better, I would also say you may have a problem with a head gasket. Anyway, I'm sure you can do this job. I have confidence in you! Man, I hate "mechanics". Charging you $1500 for a head gasket replacement? Really though, It's not that hard. You just have to make sure you know what you're doing and go slow. I know people say this, but it can't be said enough; mark your stuff. Mark where everything went. Mark every little screw, every little hose, everything. I'm currently having that problem. I have a WHOLE bunch of screws and hoses and wires and I have no idea where they go anymore. I currently have my transmission out of my truck, and looking at the engine from where the transmission goes, it gives you a whole different perspective. I know it's 3 liters, but these engines are really small! It's amazing. I look at it, and everything seems so easy from that spot. It's a whole lot better than bending over your engine bay all day. I don't really think heads would be that hard. Do you know which head gasket you blew, or both? You will be fine without power tools. They will make the job a lot easier, but you can do just fine without them. The biggest problem with these types of jobs is space. You need dedicated space. It's getting colder so it would be a lot better for you if you had a heated garage or something.
  12. You hear people around here talking about terrible gas mileage, but 8-10 is the worst I've ever heard. I think this goes way beyond the typical "Do a tune-up and clean some parts" advice. You may need to do that, but I think there is something else tacked on too. I know the 1987-1995 Pathfinders have a 21 gal tank, but are you sure about the 96? Either way, nobody can seem to put more than 18 gallons on it. Is that how you're computing your mileage? the mileage divided by 21? or how many gallons you put in it? Anyway, I'm surprised it's taken you 2 years to do something about it. The knock sensor? You should go ahead and replace it, sure, but I'm not sure that knock sensors make a difference with MPG? You definitely need to replace your O2 sensor though. No doubt about it. Clean your MAF and do a tune up. Filters all around.
  13. LOL I see what you did there. Very clever. Is it just the needle or is the engine actually increasing RPM? Can you hear/feel it? I guess, what I'm asking is if it's actually happening, or if JUST a needle says so? The needle could be faulty.
  14. If you're referring to his picture, that's definitely a 300zx. It says it in his signature.
  15. So, for the duration, the truck is running solely off of this cleaner stuff? It keeps the engine running while cleaning it? That's crazy. This my be stupid for asking..but what's the big deal if some of it leaks into the gas tank? It's all going to the same place and it's harmless, right? LOL. Town, I love you and your oil knowledge. It's amazing how you bring all this stuff up.
  16. Yeah!! That's what I need. But I think that's for the automatic. The automstc has an extra little disc on it to thicken it up. Probably the same specs for the MT.where did you find it??? Could you type the numbers out for me please? My phone can't zoom to see it. These nporA posts are in a weird format where I can't zoom or copy and paste stuff on my phone
  17. I typed something up but I guess it got lost. I need the torque specifications for the flywheel bolts for the manual transmission. I already looked in the manual. I looked under MT, EM and IDX. I can't find torque specs. My phone is dying and I just need the numbers. Thanks guys
  18. LOL. I love it when companies make random ass products. I had no idea Toyota made forklifts. I always thought of them as the single-minded Jap car maker. Honda makes..EVERYTHING, Mitsubishi makes EVERYTHING and more, Yamaha makes bikes, pianos, guitars, and sheet music (go figure), Nissan makes their vehicles and the UD tractor trailers and other stuff too. I'm sure there are others..Oh yeah, Hitachi makes stuff you wouldn't believe. As you can see, Japanese car manufactuers venture into lots of other fields, but I've never seen Toyota do that. Lol. Well, at least they can do one thing right
  19. I think they were actually really expensive. appparently, a 1994 LE 4WD pathfinder was $30k MSRP. That's more expensive than a lot of cars even now. The XE 2WD was $19.5k, and the XE 4WD was $21.3k just for comparison. Also, a 1996 300zx was getting close to 50 grand new. Nissans were actually very pricey vehicles. And from what I've seen on these forums, there can be a LOT nicer/better than I thought. I think they are some of the best vehicles ever made. I hate resale value. On anything. To me, it just seems that some people pull this price out of thin air. I don't understand why Toyotas would have high resale value. They are so bland. There's nothing to them. I guess they are just desirable because people think they last forever. For some reason, I think Nissan flies under the radar. It's always "TOYOTA AND HONDA!!!" yeah yeah. Toyota!! Yeah!! HONDA!! I don't see Toyota or Honda having any sort of gain/advantage over Nissan. I don't understand why Nissan flies under the radar when they should be receiving enormous praise for making such amazing vehicles. The 720, WD21, D21, and other models I'm not even aware of.
  20. Oh yeah. The 2jz head gasket issue. The problem isn't the design, it's the torque on the bolts. Toyota put out a certain number for the proper amount of torque, and that number was wrong. If you don't want to blow head gaskets I think you had to overtorque the head bolts by like 30ft lbs (a very significant amount) and undertorque some other bolts by like 5ft lbs, but those weren't as important. I know this Guy who works at the AAP by my house. He says he is on his 5th 2jz engine. His supra is pretty disgusting. Everything about it is broken or messed up somehow. Idk what's up with that Guy. Oh yeah he didn't buy the Turbo model, he said "Nah, I didn't want the Turbo. I have my own engineering plans " just so you can understand this Guy's frame of mind Almost forgot, even to this day more than 25 years later, Toyota denies the problem. The good part is that the 2jz engnes are really good if you solve that head gasket issue
  21. That's pretty hefty. I assume you got the boxer6? Those put out like 300hp stock? 100hp, that's pretty good. I went back and looked at the pictures. Boy, you didn't leave anything out with your Subaru. You got all the options. Very nice STI, I know those aren't cheap.
  22. I think there is a thread around here about relocating the air box. I'm not sure though. If there is, I think it would be in the how-to section
  23. OMGGGGG. DAT truck!! I don't even know how to comment on that
