  1. Luckily my Pathy isn't my DD. If and When I go to 35s, it will be trailered. No worries, though. It's not happening anytime soon...I still have alot of meat on my current tires. The main reason is 2" more ground clearance. At that point trimming the fenders will be a necessity. My current rub is on the inner fender, nearest the cabin. They currently rub on the plastic and only at full-lock. Gets alot of attention in parking lots, but didn't notice it at all offroading last weekend. I do notice a 5-10mph difference on my speedo. I need to get a dash mount for my gps, so it can act as a speedo when needed. I've considered adding spacers to the front, but everyone that has spacers has the camber issue......coincidence? or is it also combined with the AC lift???
  2. http://www.4x4design.com/Pathfinder_R50_96-04.php They "install on top of the struts".
  3. If you were closer... I have my stock spare on Craigslist. No bites...I'd give it away to get it out of my garage.
  4. DO NOT DO DOUGHNUTS IN 4WD. A friend ripped up his front diff gears in his Cherokee doing exactly that last weekend at Ocotillo Wells (desert). In 4WD, your front tires are trying to rotate at the same speed as your rear. In a doughnut, your rear is moving/trying to move faster than your front tires. You are really lucky if all you damaged was a cheap CV axle. Don't forget to thank that axle for failing before your diff gears shattered.
  5. I love my lift. I have 33s and when these tires wear out I'm going for 35s. Hopefully I'll run across some beadlocks before then as well. I wasn't satisfied with just 2" that the OME gave me. All said and done, I did waste time and money, since I bought rear springs and shocks (new) twice. I still have the front 2" lift springs and struts. Also, for the record, I'm one that never used or needed a camber kit.
  6. I'm going to tackle this problem at a later date. When offroading, my radio is usually off. I listen to it more when I'm working on the car.
  7. I can't edit my post....I misunderstood...I thought you were saying for my 2nd battery to be bigger. I think SilverPath summed it up well. I do plan to have a solar panel eventually. I'm thinking of having one that I store in the rear storage, then when I'm at camp I can pull it out and plug it in.
  8. More info that I should add: I got the system here: $125 shipped was the best price I could find. http://www.carid.com/universal-winches/t-max-winch-accessories-104798.html
  9. Thank you. TMax Controller / Dual Battery Installation in progress. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/36731-dual-battery-installation/?p=698401
  10. Here's everything tidied up. I ziptied the battery-to-solenoid cables to the cruise control cable. I'm still debating locations for the RigRunner and TMax controller. I'm pretty sure I'm going to put the controller on the backside of the Passenger side sun visor. It fits nicely and I'm 99.99% sure the wires are long enough. Plus it will keep it out of view of prying eyes that may want to break into my Pathy. They probably won't know what it is, but think that it's valuable because it's electronic and rip it out. I hope to get everything buttoned up over Thanksgiving weekend. OH! The Red and Black cable should be mentioned....those are the power to my winch. After talking with the tech support at Tuff Stuff, the ground for the solenoids needed ran to the battery ground. It works fine now and with the new mods, it allowed me the place to attach it to the battery.
  11. I decided against running the wires through the fender after learning about the clutch delete plate. It provides a clean passage to the cabin and I'm 99.99% sure the TMax wiring is long enough. I decided to mount the solenoid on the driver's side firewall. Here you can see the battery connections the TMax comes with and a good look at the splitter's connections. The other is already connected to the factory ground wire, which is also tied to the factory body ground location. Starting the wiring. For reference, the TMax comes with plenty of cable, solder terminal ends, and heat shrink. I used flux core solder and a plumber's torch to solder the ends, then cut the heat shrink to the appropriate length and used a lighter to shrink it. (didn't want to bother with my extension cord to plug in the heat gun, since I don't have electricity in my garage.
  12. I made some progress yesterday. First, I pulled the batteries. Here's the pic I promised showing the mount. Those are 5/16" x 1.5" self tappers. I pulled and painted the mount. And re-installed. I picked up this extender/splitter for $15 at Autozone. The ground attaches behind the batteries at the stock location. I wanted to keep that body ground close to the batteries and the extender/splitter was just long enough to serve my purpose. Plus it provides another an extra connection point for the 2nd battery ground jumper. AND spare ground that I will use to connect to my front camera power.
  13. I thought about it. It came down to redundancy. Suppose that I have electrical problems and my dual battery controller fails. At this time, my main battery is low or not functioning. Also I am in the middle of nowhere, by myself. Rather than using jumper cables to bridge the gap, I retain the option of switching batteries, starting the car and driving away. If one was larger than the other it would not fit in my battery mount.
  14. Technically, and morally, it's wrong. If he doesn't pay, then I want everyone on the board to know. Conversely, if he does pay and has a good excuse, I also want everyone to know.
  15. I truly was hoping he had computer problems or something, but it's been 3 weeks.
  16. If I ever total the truck, the bumper might be the only thing left. :o And Preston: I shipped to him. Not a lot of money, but I still feel burned. Next person, will pay up front. Period.

  18. The bumpers built for R50s can be expensive, from what I've seen. I'm truly glad the PO had already put one on mine. However, I would prefer to have had the winch mount through the top instead of behind the bumper.
  19. On a similar note, are there any good aftermarket power antennas?
  20. Herculiner is a good DIY product. Now that I've found out that my fender guards and side steps are staying on, I'm going to coat them both.
