  1. Swapped the wires and will test it soon. After the last trip, I think it was overdue. For the record...this is backward. I swapped it. Taped it up and will put on some liquid electrical tape. If it works, golden. If not I'll be heading to the junkyard in hopes of saving $200.
  2. Thanks! I've actually been looking at the same cans, here at a place locally. http://jerrycandepot.com/
  3. Also, it will add weight to the rear of the vehicle...which is good.
  4. After a weekend of no gas cans and knowing I need more room for storage when I take the kiddos on my adventures.... I plan to fab something similar to what jeeps have, with overtire storage....it will need to swing out or down to access that liftgate. I picked up an ATV basket from harbor freight. http://www.harborfreight.com/300-lb-atv-cargo-carrier-69858.html It's a bolt together carrier, but I will weld it once everything is finished. I snagged it on sale and with a 20% off coupon. ~$35. The hitch needs extended about 4" to work with my spare tire, and I will need to fab a swivel of some sort...kind of like the swing down hitch mounted bike carriers....but a bit more heavy duty pins as it will support up to 300lbs.
  5. My dog always accompanies me. As a matter of fact, I think I was the only one to drive around with my windows down. Everyone else is afraid of getting dust in their vehicles, I think. Atop Diablo Dropoff. Graded, so now more like Diablo Way. My favorite selfie of the weekend! And on our way home we ran into Bigfoot. I have more pics at home. I didn't want to sift through the 400 pics on the Meetup site again. The Pathy did great for 2 days...I put over 300 miles on her and made it home. I lost my front camera on it's maiden voyage...I think due to vibration issues...so I'll be getting a new one. I almost went head over heels on The Slot... Scared the crap out of me. No IFS can be sketchy. I'll take a bit more care next time. I was having some transfer case issues, so I'll be changing the fluid to be safe. Also, my check engine light came on. I haven't had the time to look more into it. The truck ran fine, so I'm hoping it's an O2 sensor or some other minor issue. No kiddos next weekend, so the Pathy will get the once over, check out the CEL, change the transfer case fluid, other general maintenance and clean her up a bit. Hope you enjoy the pics and following video links from the Meetup group. http://youtu.be/seuXtEm3dkI?t=14s (if you see this guy... http://youtu.be/1uJf9VFj58A?t=7m50s my buddy says I was higher than him. The video misses it and only catches me at 13:16...this is where we caught up with the group on the 2nd day.) Link to the group, if you're interested in checking it out. http://www.meetup.com/score-explore/events/131441372/
  6. So I have 4 Sony speakers that are going on CL once I get around to taking a pic. Met up with Andy last weekend (Jan 3-5) out in Anza Borrego Desert State Park. I thoroughly enjoy this park. The desert scenery is simply amazing and there is alot to see and do. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=638 I plan to download the tracks from my GPS this week...see if I can overlay the map. Here's some pics. Camped on Friday at Blair Valley. This was our view in the morning. Near Ocotillo, CA. The head of Dos Cabezas trail. There were 18 rigs total. Andy and I were the only Pathys. Mostly Toyotas (4runner, Tacomas, pickup, and an FJ), 3 JK Jeeps, and a completely outfitted Zombie Apocalypse van. Alot steeper than it looks. Fish Creek Wash.
  7. I was going to ask if you were considering the front spring lift to get a couple more inches, but you would have to get new WJ springs or life with the rake.
  8. Gathering and pondering. I now have a 15 gallon air tank and the compressor. Just need time to figure it all out.
  9. Speakers have been intermittent. ..sound going in and out. So ordered new ones. Started to prep for replacement. Found this. ...from my cell...using Tapatalk
  10. Owells? Anza Borrego? ...from my cell...using Tapatalk
  11. I'm in....and looking forward to the AB trip on January 3-5 2014.
  12. I usually just put in 5W30...the $20 oil change. I've considered going to synthetic, just because I don't drive it as often...so only change it a couple times a year...at most. Is it a good idea at 225k?
  13. Guess I'm mounting it under the pathy or in the cargo compartment....no room under the hood.
  14. Can't see what? ...from my cell...using Tapatalk
  15. Is the storage compartment the same size? Just different cupholder position/size?
  16. Same spot as me? Near the front mud guards??? I don't notice any loss of power. MT Road noise...BZZZZZZ! I do have a bit more play in the steering wheel and about 5-7mph speedo error.
  17. this is out of an 03 They moved the cup holders forward making for better access. Even something this similar would be an upgrade for mine....wondering if it's a direct bolt-in?
  18. So there's nothting that's a close fit...I was hoping there was something that was similar between other models. QX4 vs Pathy, for example.
  19. Any further progress? Mine is currently broken, so I'm curious about options. (the lid/storage thingy has came apart from the bottom storage....not sure whether to try to glue it back on or not)
  20. I didn't want a dash mount. I currently park in a condo parking lot. Prying eyes....out of sight out of mind. From the outside, without close inspection, my interior looks mostly stock. Thank you! I plan to hit up my local fab shop to ask about skid plates in the next couple weeks....since Fleury's closed up that side of the shop.
  21. That's what forums and build threads are about...look and see what ya like....and maybe do it better. ...from my cell...using Tapatalk
  22. I plan to run my tires at ~15psi...so I think it should still turn on after connecting the hoses....I should only loose 1 or 2 psi...it's all about the testing. Yes. 2 functions to my dementia. Plan now, but plan for the future. The amperage I noted in my initial post...I am not sure what the bosch relay is rated at....and just received the M50 today, so wasn't sure what the current draw was on it either. I didn't see anything on the Amazon description. Quick google search: A like this is rated for 30-40A, so if the MV50 max is 30A, I should be fine. Good call. On the drawing I am missing a main power from the battery to the box that I will mount the relays inside. The switch will be in the cabin, so when I do have my tank, I will switch it on when we are close to camp. I plan for it to be a small removable plastic box, so if the electronics fail I can connect directly to the battery. I will hook up the lines from the compressor to the tires prior to turning on the compressor. 3/8" hose, I'm not 100% certain that it will not drop below 15psi prior to the compressor coming on. If so, during testing, I will adjust as necessary. It may turn out that I can only run one tire at a time on auto. Even then, I will be able to let it run until it shuts off. I figure a pressure regulator set at 40 (to the tires) for redundancy failure. They tend to cutoff prior to their set...slowly letting through more air. The electric switch should cut it off at a similar point every time...and 32 is max for street use on a 32" MT.
  23. They're both cutoff switches. "regulator" inside the box is misleading. I couldn't find a 35 psi switch, which is what I air my tires up to on the street. Looking at Jeep forums (and my buddy), they run 32 or less on the street. I only need one relay if I don't use the 10-32 cutoff. It's only $10 and I love tinkering and making something that noone else has. (I once built a remote cutoff for a 50cc motorcycle using a $5 RC car 8) ) I will be picking up my pump tonight. Going to call around some HVAC supply places to see if I can get the air pressure switch locally so I can bench test next week.
