  1. They're for the HB pickup. They fit, but you might have to trim a few bits of plastic to get them on. Problem is, they don't come in black trim, like most people have.
  2. Ergh, you picked a fun vehicle to play with. Unique, but a PITA to mod and get more power out of. The first thing you've got to know is that the engines in these things are undersized for the amount of weight they're pushing around. That's why they only make 150 HP and get 15 MPG. That's pushing around 4000 lbs for a 4WD model. With smog-legal accessories, the power output is crap compared to older musclecars. Second thing, if the stock system isn't running totally perfect and in good repair, most performance mods won't help much cause the old parts or not-in-tune parts will bring down the performance of the engine in total. Third thing, start expecting to pay big bucks for parts. These things were made in Japan up to 1995 and most aftermarket parts are limited in availibility. Even from American companies operating in the US. You can do the standard stuff to these motors, replace cams with performance cams, get headers(for 87-95 Pathfinders, anyway), rework the exhaust, revamp the intake and air filter, port and polish the heads(that takes a LOT of time and work tho)...you get the idea. Anything else?
  3. You can't get DMV information in Oregon from a license plate number unless you're a police officer. More to come soon, this steering shaft is being a MAJOR PITA. I pounded the piss out of it for an hour last night and another half hour today to get it extended. ARGH.
  4. No problems whatsoever. I've even rear-ended someone once and it's still straight.
  5. Yeah, but yours is a 93. His isn't. I have 6.5" speakers in my front doors with minimal cutting and 6x9's in the rear with no clearance problems. The only clearance problems you'll find in the rear are if your tweeters stick out too far from the center of the speaker and contact the stock grille in the side panel.
  6. Alllllllrighty then. "37" Interco Super Swamper TSL/SX tires"
  7. I think non-runners should be included. I have one in the garage that's waiting for me to pour money into it when I can...and then it will run. Oh yes, it will run. Like, 12's. Or less. I have four cars. 1976 Chevy Chevelle Laguna Type S-3 1983 Chevy G20 Van 1983 Isuzu Impulse 1988 Nissan Pathfinder
  8. This is a 1989 4x4 V6 Pathfinder with 31 x 10.50 BFG M/T's and a little bit of suspension lift. More precisely, this is Ramithepimp's Pathy. Here are a few starter pictures. More to come soon.
  9. Yeah, probably. If you don't have access to a welder, you're gonna have a flimsy, crooked bumper anyway. The old body lift kit's bumper brackets were a crock of crap and didn't work. My front bumper is tack-welded directly to the frame on both sides with a couple of supports welded in underneath it. Rock-solid that way.
  10. Those are aftermarket or lift progressive-rate coils. They're not stock JGC coils. Stock ones have coils the same distance apart the whole way up.
  11. If it fits those year models, then it has 28 splines. If not, you can easily re-sell them to someone else here.
  12. If you've lost two gears already, it's a lost cause. I'd start looking for a replacement tranny. You can pull it and look inside to see what died first, though.
  13. Colin: The stock coolers have a terrible reputation for clogging up enough to kill the transmission. Do not use the stock cooler at all. Install an aftermarket cooler and bypass the radiator cooler completely. I have two HD coolers on mine and have had no problems so far.
  14. I doubt it, but you never know. Say, this isn't a starting problem like the thread title says, by the way. It's a dying-when-it-gets-hot problem.
  15. If you really insist on going that route, it'd be WAY easier to simply buy a junkyard tranny/t-case still bolted together and just pull the old one and install the new ones. That's a lot of disassembly. The only place you're going to find a tranny adapter plate(etc) for the stock tranny is a dealership, and you probably don't want to know how much one of those costs new... Yes, you need a different driveshaft. 2WD's come with a two-piece driveshaft(AFAIK), and 4WD's have a one-piece driveshaft.
  16. More like 10+ feet of wire in three different colors, unless you want your headlight wiring to be all one color. I wouldn't think a heavy-duty relay would be necessary, stock low beams are 45W and the stock high beams are 65W. That's a LOT less than 40 amps. Regular 30 amp relays should work fine. If you run higher-wattage bulbs than stock then replacing the sockets is a must, otherwise the plastic will melt. The problem is the stock small-gauge wire, it heats up under a high load and causes the socket to deform or melt. You can either remove the wiring from the sockets and replace the stock 18 gauge wire with 12 gauge, or find new sockets altogether. I found replacement sockets at Wal-Mart for $2.99 each, took them apart, removed the 16 gauge wires and soldered 12 gauge wire into the pins, then reassembled 'em. I still have to install the wiring...and I can't wait to see the difference on my 55W low/100W high diamond white headlights.
  17. Might as well buy a cheap Subaru if that's all you need it for. It'll get better gas mileage, too.
  18. Nah. It's great. I like having to deal with things like this after every wheeling trip. Bent tie rods...tires pointing at each other. Broken CV joint. I've also broken/bent idler arms, dented shocks, bent stock UCA's, bent a UCA spindle, and blown up stock auto AND manual hubs.
  19. Just run new wiring to the speakers and avoid the amps completely. It'll sound much better.
  20. Yes, you need to tape up or insulate the bare wiring before it shorts out. All you need is some more wire and a few crimp connectors. Go to the auto parts store, spend $4.99 for crimpers, $2.99 for wire, and another $1.99 for some butt connectors. Extend your short wires and you're done.
  21. As far as I know, the autos are as-is, no HD parts for them. The manual trannies will take more power. Same tranny as in the 300ZX TT, I think. Maybe some of the 300ZX guys have some auto tranny tricks to share?
  22. Of course I know how to drive a stick. My Impulse is a manual and so is my GF's car.
  23. You can get different speedo drive gears from Nissan that will correct your speedo reading. I dunno what you've got to begin with, so I guess you'd have to get under there and pull your original one to count the teeth. I could do it too, but I don't much care, heh.
  24. Dude, Stillen quit making those, they're rarer than hen's teeth. I'd buy those before they disappear, cracked or not. Those are the ONLY headers ever made for a 96-99 Pathfinder with a VG33. At $40?? Jeez, start bidding.
