  1. If it was me I would first check the bulb with an ohm meter. If it's good then I'd check the socket with either a test light or a volt meter. I think that's better than starting with the light switch.
  2. Maybe a company that does home AC repairs could do it?
  3. You might want to check out this site... Auto Weld Chassis. com. This is what I was considering when the rear frame of my '96 Hardbody snapped in two at the rear kick up. I already have a pattern for the frame rails here some where...I'll send them on when I find them. I actually had a House Wren (bird) nesting in one of the holes in my frame. I had already taken the box off to check out the rust so when it broke the middle of the frame actually hit the ground.
  4. I'm not sure if your '97 would have this but in my '03 with a Bose there is an "audio amplifier relay" which seems to often fail. In searches I read of many others with the same problem. This relay is for the front speakers only. It basically suppies power to the front amps when the key is turned on. When it fails you will only have rear speakers. A new one costs about $20. It took me over a year of having just the rears before I finely figured out how to fix this problem. It was SO nice to get the fronts working again. Plugging in a new relay is alot easier and cheaper than new speakers and stereo.
  5. I got my passenger side front outer and inner bearings and seal replaced today. Easier than I thought it would be...I used the old races with the lower outer edges ground down to seat the new ones and the new seal. I was glad not to have to use a press to get the new ones in. Then went for a drive around the block... 14 mile mud bog , freshly thawed and graded dirt roads. So happy that the intermittent howl is now gone. I had undercoated that wheel well and repainted the rim while it was apart, after the drive it all matches...mud brown half way up the windows.
  6. Welcome...we can't have too many Canadians. There is lots of good reading in the forums for info. For seats I'd stay stock with either ones from the junk yard or seat covers. Has the truck been running in those four years?
  7. I think thoses prices are in American dollars!...can you imagine the price (Canadian) when Trump builds the border fence between Canada and Texas!
  8. Search "grill guards" under forums...more that one photo!
  9. If you try "horse power" is search you'll find some reading. I found the best way was to get a 2003 3.5 with 240 HP.
  10. If you look in the forums on the home page... "R50 FAQ&PINNED" topics there is a thead with 199 comments on max tire size. Something there might help.
  11. Does the '93 have a third brake light? Above the rear widow.
  12. I think the politicaly correct term is "retread". Yes someone did hook 5 wires into 4 but in their defence they did use a crap load of black tape on it. It took longer to get all the tape off that it did to fix it.
  13. I had a simular problem on my old Pathfinder. It took a while to find but it turned out somebody had wired the trailer wire harness wrong. If you hit the brakes with the headlights on would cause all kinds of stuff to happen....from ash tray lights coming on to the third brake light being on all the time. Rewired the harness correctly and all lights went back to normal. It might not be your problem but worth a check. The tail lights had been wired to the brake light circuit.
  14. Your problem is no.1 Audio amp relay. If it doesn't work all 4 front speackers are out. The 2 rears are separate. The relay has four wires.... Red Black Light green w/red tracer Red w/green tracer If you put a jumper wire between Red/Green tracer and the Red wire the speakers should work. Just don't leave it like that or the front amps will keep drawing power without the key on..
  15. Looks like that will be an ambishous build. What's the plan for the power plant?
  16. Just grab ahold of the drive shaft at each joint and give it a good shake. You should be able to feel if there is any extra slop in it.
  17. Is it speed specific? Maybe U joint or broken tire belts.
  18. I know this an old post but I refuse to take steering advice from anyone that parks on their roof!

    Altima

Would anyone have an opinion on '07 to '10 Altimas? Momma needs a new car and she can't have the Pathfinder.
  20. Has anyone? I'd say no. Why would you try such a discombopulated swap?
  21. Glad to see you're keeping that bumper safe in the living room.
  22. Go by your dash temp. gauge. If you need more air for cooling remove your AC condencer. That lets in more air in through your rad and gives you room for a tranny cooler. Remove all the other AC parts there will be lots of extra room under the hood. Second battery or inverter or compresser etc. After all you don't need AC in Canada.
