  1. one of mine came off on my 87 Hardbody years ago, I glued it back on using rear view mirror adhesive , is that what you used?
  2. can anyone explain if this is correct? need to know function of wire that goes to/comes from fan switch
  3. napa gold oil filters are supposed to be good too but when I put one on my sentra it ticked like crazy at start up, replaced it with a factory filter and no more ticking.
  4. "Generally a spring-loaded steel ball is fitted to the internal side of the nipple inlet passageway to exclude dirt intrusion and function as a shutoff valve to prevent grease escaping back out of the nipple."
  5. have to find someone that has one, thanks for the idea!!
  6. normally a vibration felt thru the steering wheel indicates a problem in the front, could be anything previously listed, a vibration felt thru the seat usually is from the rear
  7. here's a pic someone photoshopped of my 87 Hardbody a few years ago, not as stubby as the path pictured here but:
  8. stupidly traded it in back in 2001 for a dodge dakota club cab 4x4 with the 4.7 V8

  9. would it be possible to have a list of members by state or country?
  10. Some of the aftermarket electric fans come with the thermostat and sensor that gets placed between the fins of your radiator, I had a single electric fan on my 87 Hardbody a long time ago, don't remember which brand it was but it was a beast!! here is a writeup on how to choose the proper fan: http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/howtoelectric.html
  11. welcome to the site NICE TRUCK, kind of looks like mine,
  12. my antenna is just a skinny black wire that comes out of the module and lays on the floor, My truck had the alarm but I disconnected it, does having the alarm mean it is supposed to have the key fobs??
  13. I got my AC fixed today, had to replace the expansion valve and recharge it, it works pretty good so far but still having an issue with the AC switch and the fan switch, when I have the AC button pressed in, than move the fan switch over to 3 or 4 the light in the ac switch does not come on and the clutch on the compressor does not engage, if I move the fan switch slightly to the left like between 3 and 4, or if I lift up slightly on the fan switch lever the light comes on and the clutch will engage, What I want to try to figure out how to do is to make it so the AC clutch will engage regardless of where the fan switch is. I took one of these fan controls apart in the junkyard and it was a pain in the butt and really don't want to go that way and mess with replacing it. I probed the AC switch and there are 5 terminals, one seems like it has power all the time with the key on, and one terminal has power when the AC switch is pressed in, the other 3 wires seem like they are grounds but not sure. I'm having a hard time figuring out the schematic and wanted to know if someone with more electrical knowledge perhaps could explain how the wires run to me. I know I could probably use a separate switch to control the AC relay but want to figure out a way to use the stock AC switch but have it work regardless of what position the fan switch is set at, anybody help please??
  14. I was thinking my speedometer was a little fast as the truck doesn't seem like it is going as fast as what the speedometer is saying. I figured it was correct as the truck still has the stock sized tires, but than I realized my buddy had the tranny replaced, so now I have no idea what this tranny came out of and if the speedometer gear is correct for my axle gear ratio. Wanted to know if someone with 31's, 4:63 gears and an auto tranny could tell me what there speed is at 2000 RPM, mine is reading 60 with the OD on and in top gear. Also is there a way to tell by looking at the speedometer gear which one it is? Thanks
  15. haven't found a plug yet with those wire colors either, the earliest FSM I have is for a 94 though
  16. looks good, you may have wanted to grind the welds down that way you can make sure you got good penetration
  17. the plugs in the corner near the battery can be : ASCD hold relay ( cruise control), power antenna plug, M/T interlock relay, 2 plugs for daytime running light module (for Canada), the 2 in the rear corner are for the blower relay and the AC relay by the way
  18. that isn't for the fuel pressure regulator is it?
  19. 12.50 tires are perfectly fine on a 8" wide wheel, they are usually installed on either 8" or 10" wide wheels, I've also seen them mounted on 12's but the sidewalls get pulled out to far; a few pics: this is a 35/ 12.50 on a 15 x 8 centerline with 5" back spacing to keep the tire under the wheel well, normal 15 x 8 would have a 3" backspacing and would stick out further this is a 33/12.50 on a 15 x 10,
  20. body lift definitely makes it a lot easier
  21. I'll check everything tomorrow, never had any problems with the car starting, I can understand it acting up when it's hot if there was a bad connection.
  22. don't know if it's changed since my 87 Hardbody but factory back spacing on the Lego wheels should be 3 3/4", you said a titan wheel had a different bolt pattern? I looked that up the other day and from what I saw on tirerack.com the bolt pattern is the same, they have it as 6-139mm which is 6 on 5.5". The 6 on 5.5' bolt pattern is one of the most popular, older full size Chevy, Toyota, Mazda, Isuzu and many others all use this pattern. here is a link to a chart I just found with all the vehicles that use the 6 on 5.5" bolt pattern, http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-rods-rat-rods/Wheel-Bolt-Pattern-Cross-Reference-Database.asp?LugCount=6&StudSpreadInch=5.5&StudSpreadMM=
