  1. Went to the local junkyard today got some good stuff, alot of things I needed here is a pic: I got a bunch or relays, 2 door lock clips 2 door lock sensors (one I cut the harness), the pass. side front door window rubber, THE GLOVE BOX LATCH !!!!! that alone was worth the trip!!, rear cargo area top trim, battery hold down, battery hook, plug from the engine harness, front and rear wiper washer pumps one looks almost new, visor transfer case shifting instruction label (mine is worn out), and some assorted screws and bolts, not bad for $21, oh can't say I told them about everything I took home.....
  2. Ok, finally got to the bottom of this mystery, went to my buddies shop who did the engine swap today, he still had the old engine, he found the EGR temp sensor, turns out it connects to a plug that is on the engine harness, that is why I did not see it in the service manual as I was looking at the under hood diagram. anyway went out to the pathfinder and looked for the sensor ( now that I knew where it was) and it is not there, only thing is a plug. Than found out that the engine harness that is on the JDM engine in the truck now does not even have a plug for this sensor. So I removed the engine harness from the old engine and will run the 2 wires from the EGR temp sensor to the under hood harness instead of replacing the whole harness. As to there being 2 plugs there is only one. Other thing is in the FSM looking at the engine harness it says the EGR temp sensor is For California , than I just remembered the old engine was from a junkyard vehicle not sure which one, so maybe the car/truck they got the old engine from had Ca. emissions, but if that was the case the ECU shouldn't throw a code for something it did not have in the first place?? Who knows, I'm going to wait to the engine cools and connect the sensor and see what happens, thanks
  3. I think I could live with one of those Skyline's instead of the Chevelle !!
  4. surprised no one is replying to this topic, anyway going down to the guy who did my engine swap to see if he can fix the AC and possibly replace the master cylinder, his wife just called me to let me know he was working at his shop today. They weren't sure if he was going to as last weekend at some motorcycle meet he fell and hurt his back (in the shower!!). She also said the old engine he took out of my truck is still sitting there and they want me to take it, so I'll pick it up and when I get home if it has that temp sender I'll take a few pics showing exactly where it is.
  5. on my Hardbody I used to run a dual remote kit, I had the filters mounted under the pass. door and ran 2 full size filters, think it added more than a quart of capacity easily between the 2 big filters and the hoses
  6. just throw a 302 in the Miata, saw it done in a magazine years ago, "monster Miata" http://www.monstermiata.com/
  7. you must be referring to the hardbody body mounts that always drop down causing the cab body line to not equal the bed body line will the "body lift" from the hardbody work in a pathfinder??
  8. I corrected the RPM limit, my bad. What factory body lift on the Hardbody?
  9. I guess the MPG can't be too bad, I've been driving all over with the gauge just above the "E" it finally went into the white today, no fuel light has come on yet but I am carrying a 2 gallon can of gas with me just in case. Oh, so far since I put $20 in to it and the gas gauge was just above the 3/4 mark I have driven 215 miles!!
  10. I found it, I pulled the gauge cluster out before I thought there was a voltage regulator on the back that controlled the fuel and temp gauges but I didn't see one, but while I had it out I checked all the bulbs to make sure they work and saw from the back side that the fuel light is just to the left of the check engine light, which is also the first light on the far left side. thanks
  11. I would like to get the owners manual for my 94 pathfinder, I know you can order them from Nissan and E-bay has a few but are there any other places that they can be downloaded from? or is it not available as a download due to the year? related to the manual, can someone tell me where this low fuel light is supposed to be in the gauge cluster? thanks
  12. 94 pathfinder, I notice when I am slowing down to come to a complete stop I hear a noise sounds almost like something hitting the floor from underneath, I don't think anything is, sounds like it's coming from the pass. side, I want to say it may be the rotor moving slightly on the studs but not sure. Anyone ever hear something like this and know what it may be??
  13. I try to use the Nissan oil filter when ever I can, but if I don't feel like driving to the dealer to get on my back up filter of choice is the Purolator Pure One, it has gotten positive reviews on the bob is the oil guy website. The filter I took off appears to be a factory Nissan oil filter, it's the standard Nissan blue with the part number on it but it says "pitwork" what is that a Japanese thing??
  14. replacing this filter, even if it wasn't stuck was a pain in the ass without a body lift, I don't remember having such a hard time to get the filter in and out. Might be able to use that as reasoning to my wife to put a body lift in it !! LOL
  15. forget about numbers matching, I would take a "clone" any day, it just comes down to do I want to drive my $100k original Chevelle SS around and have to worry about every a-hole on the road? Or drive my clone around and have some fun doing it !! Years ago when I worked at the 4x4 shop back home in NY, one of my jobs was to go to dealers and pick up new cars and trucks and take them back to our shop for wheels and tires whatever, every day I drove something different,my ex gf at the time used to say she never knew who was pulling into her driveway as I was always in a different car/truck. So they send me to this Chevrolet dealer one day to pick up the owners car, I get there and it's a 70 Chevelle SS, beautiful, white with black stripes, I had no idea if it was a clone or original but I can tell you driving that car back to the shop I was very nervous that if something was to happen to it!! so it may not have been an LS6 (didn't feel like it, and it probably was a clone) but at least I got to drive my dream car one time.
  16. I have a Onkyo 7.1 surround system for the main tv which is a few years old 52" RCA, Onkyo was one of those all in one box systems but it sounds pretty good, use it mostly when we play rock band and guitar hero. My new/old system consists of a Sansui G-5500 60 watts per ch but this receiver is so damn loud haven't had it past 4!, Klipsch Heresey speakers, Tascam 302MK2 dual cassette deck, JVC turntable on top of cabinet, there is a JVC cd player in the pic but I took that out now have a old MCS tape deck someone gave me, and I normally have a Aiwa AD-F990 tape deck but that is being repaired. my Aiwa tape deck: (not my actual one just a pic I found of it online) closeup of Sansui receiver: the JVC turntable: this pic was before I bought it and speaking of rockband here are the drums I use, I bought them from a guy in Minn. who custom made everything seen except the pvc parts that I added to mount the Roland drum module and the guitar hero cymbals, now have replaced one of the cymbal's with a Pinn tech electronic cymbal:
  17. EGR seems to be operating correctly, that temp sensor is strange as I was looking in the wiring diagrams in the service manual and it shows a plug for that sensor for the KA24 engine but not the VG30 ????
  18. I wouldn't buy the exact fit, I always get the universal (without the plug) O2 sensor for my Sentra but that one is only a one wire about $17. Just wanted to see who has the O2 sensor for the least amount. Rockauto has it for $46 plus shipping I would guess
  19. the filter was on the engine when I bought the engine, it was a JDM factory filter. When my guy swapped the engines I told him I didn't want to put the good oil in right away until I saw that there were no leaks, he said the oil still looked good so left it in, the oil and filter was only in/on the engine in my truck for about a week. Running Mobil one and Nissan filter now. definitely a lot easier when truck has a body lift, mine doesn't..yet
  20. I bought the regular NGK's only plug I would consider using, will check the condition of the cap and rotor tomorrow, took it for a test drive this JDM engine revs nice and easily right up to the 6000 red line
  21. nice ingenuity I think I would do something like this, before I get all the replies saying water will get in, blah blah, I don't take nor do I plan to take my truck in deep water or the stuff they call "mud" down here n Florida, anyway get one of these: Small Black NACA Duct The NACA duct or NACA scoop is a common form of low-drag intake design, originally developed by the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (the precursor to NASA) in 1945. When properly implemented, it allows air to be drawn into an internal duct, often for cooling purposes, with a minimal disturbance to the flow. The design was originally called a "submerged inlet," since it consists of a shallow ramp with curved walls recessed into the exposed surface of a streamlined body, such as an aircraft. It is especially favored in racing car design. Takes 3" Hose than mount it in the hood and run a 3" hose to the air cleaner box
  22. never in my driving life have I gone thru what I just did, everything started out just fine, I removed the throttle body and cleaned it real good, re-installed it, checked the MAF sensor, replaced the PCV valve ( so happy they put it right on top so easy to do!!), replaced the fuel filter, slight bitch of a job but getting those hoses off always are, drained the oil, and let the fun begin now!!! went to remove the oil filter and IT DID NOT WANT TO BE REMOVED!!!!! I had to have spent almost an hour trying to get that filter off, had to put that rubber tape ( the kind that looks like electrical tape) on the inside of my oil filter wrench and than use the handle from my floor jack just to get the filter to start to turn loose !!! of course in the process I knocked/pulled 2 wires loose from I don't know where!!!, one turned out to go to the starter, found that out when the truck wouldn't crank at all, the other was for the oil pressure sender, finally got those 2 wires back connected, all in all took me over 3.5 hours to do what I just said. I'm worn out now!!, Plugs will be done tomorrow as well as re-installing the drivers side door lock cylinder that I dropped off at the locksmith to have a key made for it. ok time to de-grease my self will be back on in a while.
