  1. well drove the pathfinder last night to walmart and back than drove it all over the place today, have a total of 170 miles driven so far since I put $20 in the other night, gas gauge has just finally dropped below the 1/4 mark. I think this gas gauge is similar to how the one was in my 87 hardbody, it tends to fall quick from full but than stays around a 1/4 for a long time. No idea how much gas was in the tank when I put the $20 in but it was around a 1/4. Will figure out the MPG next time I fill it up. I replaced the air filter already and am about to change the oil (still has the oil in it from when I bought it from Japan!!), I bought some Mobil one and have Nissan oil filter, also will replace the fuel filter and pcv and I'm going to pull the TB off to clean it real good as well. Than I will just have to find an O2 sensor.
  2. here is what the VIN number decodes to for my 94: this is the model id broken down this is taken from decoding the VIN #: this is the VS code packages, (the last 2 numbers of the model info): and this is the VS code for the LE package:
  3. can't find that tire review thread, have a link?
  4. how much will a leak in the exhaust, a dirty MAF sensor and throttle body effect the MPG? Picked up a 5 Qt jug of Mobil 1 tonight from walmart for like $23, and replaced the air filter, the one that was in there was very dirty. Going to clean the TB and MAF sensor tomorrow.
  5. My 94 has 2 sensors right near the top front of the engine, very easy to get at, I guess they changed the location from what is described in this thread?
  6. anyone have a VG30 out of a truck that might possibly be able to take a pic of this sensor for me?
  7. My mechanic/cousin's parents and sister went on vacation to florida one time back in 1970, when they got home and opened the garage guess what they saw ?? Yup, the same green SS Chevelle like the one I posted, LS-6 auto, white stripes, cowl hood, the best of the best!! Some of my other relatives used to tell me stories about how fast that car was and how people used to always want to race him, they said the car was scary fast. He only drove the car 2 years than parked it in his garage, he didn't even keep gas in the tank he ran it every once in a while out of a gallon jug he had hanging off the front bumper. He told me he would sell it to me for $6500 (now you know that was a LONG time ago at that price !!!), and what was I supposed to say I was about 9 -10 years old at the time. When Reggie Jackson had the fire in his garage and lost some of his muscle cars one of his people contacted my cousin about buying the Chevelle but nothing ever came out of it, he ended up selling it about 10 years ago for $30K and the guy freshened it up a little and re-sold it a week later for $40K, OH, I did I mention that it only had 21K miles on it !!!!!
  8. Anyone have any opinions on the Pro Comp All terrains?
  9. the price for the mud terrains may have not been a normal retail price as I knew the guy that owned the tire shop pretty well, of course that in itself makes it unfair to compare "my price" with what other retailers may have been selling them for back in the day
  10. I saw that in the service manual I just don't see it on the engine, I may make a junkyard trip this weekend and start removing parts from one of their engines until I find where it is.
  11. starting to wonder if the engine even has this sensor or not
  12. My dream build would be a 70 chevelle SS with the old school LS6 and have it come out like this:
  13. I looked on tire rack's site but than have to pay shipping and than to have them mounted and balanced
  14. there is only one O2 Sensor correct?
  15. would my 94 SE with auto trans have 4.62 gears? and how many gallons is the fuel tank anyway?
  16. your Firestone tires may be ok for you but after having them stock on my 87 Hardbody and seeing how they were than having another set of Firestone's on my sentra and having to replace all 4 of them for being out of round plus one blowing out for no reason one day, I don't even consider Firestone.
  17. a pair of these Falken's out the door cost $242.29, they used to have a brand named Pathfinder that looked pretty good think it was like a house brand for Discount Tire (also known as America's Tire) but don't see them on the site anymore.
  18. the engine is a JDM engine, no idea what temp thermostat is in it or if it has one at all!! I posted a thread about the terrible mileage I got today so possibly if it is running too cold this may be contributing to the bad MPG. JDM and US thermostat temp is 169.7 per FAST program
  19. 94 pathfinder VG30E, the water temp gauge only rises to about a 1/4 above the cold mark, is this a normal reading?
  20. First of all this is not a "will this size fit on my truck" question, I have 31's on my 94 pathfinder right now, actually 265/75/15's. I'm going to be buying a pair of 31's for the front but I need to stay inexpensive, the cheapest tires at the local tire store I use (discount tire) are Falken Ziex S/TZ-04 at $95 each, pic below: these are like a big street tire and I'm not sure if I'm comfortable having a street tread on the truck as I do want to do some light off roading soon, the rear tires are Goodyear At's and have a decent amount of thread left. I am also looking at the BF Goodrich all terrains, they have received many good reviews and many people comment on how they have gotten 70-80K miles out of them, but they are $159 each. I used to get 33" BFG mud terrains for $150!! Was looking to see what other brand 31's the members here may be running and approx how much they cost and also maybe some other options in this size. THANKS!!
  21. Hello all, yesterday I finally put my 94 pathfinder on the road, stopped and got gas, 87 octane $20m about 8 gallons, the gas gauge was just below the 3/4 mark, today I drove it to work and back 72 miles round trip and the gas gauge is now below a 1/4. The engine I had put in (old engine was shot) was a JDM VG30E,m truck has a auto trans with O/D and 31" tires. Anyway, mechanic said the spark plugs looked good although I don't know what brand they are, most likely NGK's, I haven't done anything yet as far as a tune up but I drove aprox. 90 miles on 8 gallons and have the same amount of gas as before I put in the 8 gallons, that works out to 11.25 MPG does this sound a bit low to anyone else even with not doing a tune up??? My 87 Hardbody 4x4 with 33's, TB, no over drive auto trans and 4.62 gears was getting about 10 MPG. So what kind of mileage should I expect to see with this truck anyway?? I thought by getting rid of our V8 Titan I would be saving money on gas being the pathfinder is a V6 but HOLY Cr-P!! So I'll probably get a new set of NGK plugs, air filter, fuel filter, put some Mobil One in, I have a factory oil filter already, PCV, I'll price the O2 sensor (s??) and if I can get one reasonable I'll replace that as well, I need to check the rear end fluid and possibly change it to some synthetic, ( what do you recommend since it is LSD), anything else I forgot to list?? Thanks
  22. couldn't stop laughing!! and that last one does pretty good off road!!
  23. UPDATE: I put some silicone in the lower corner of the windshield trim, the leak stopped, so I thought, the other night it rained pretty good here and I checked the floor and there was a little water!! Over the weekend I went out and bought a tube of black silicone and I ran a bead all the way around the windshield, thought that would stop any leaks, last night we had a really nasty rain for hours, at 3 a.m. I take the garbage out and check the floor of the truck and there is quite a bit of water!! So now I'm back to square one, may have to pull the fender to see if there is anything obvious where water may be coming in. OH WELL the saga continues......
