  1. That first link is pretty nice, ports to spare! Will it fit with headers though? Not sure about the DT headers but with the Experimental Engineering headers I had to change out my factory sending unit for a light and a gauge, to a smaller sensor for just a light so the headers would clear. James
  2. Steeevo needed ten people for Doug Thorley to build the headers not to get a better price. It would be up to Jim Wolf if they will give a better price if a certain number of people commit. James
  3. Cool! I don't mind if I have to change the base just as long as the shifter itself will fit in mine. I grabbed one Saturday from a 92. It looked different but the body is so much higher from the trans that it looks different in that respect too. I grabbed the transfer case shifter too and I was able to take it off from the hole inside the cab. I only had to crawl under to disconnect the linkage. James
  4. Does anyone know if the shifter from a 4 cyl hard body is the same as the V6? James
  5. If you shave that much you will need more than a new tensioner! I'm sure you meant .05. Won't you need adjustable cam gears too to get the cams back where they need to be? James
  6. I'd like to see how he did that too, Kingman had to cut the firewall for the intake to clear. He must have moved the motor forward some. The Z has the exhaust crossover behind the motor also that won't fit in the truck. Why didn't he show the turbo in the video also. James
  7. I would use an allen head socket on a hammer impact driver. The kind you hit with a hammer like this. http://www.ehow.com/how_4809810_use-hand-impact-driver.html James
  8. Steeevo at rugged rocks put a group buy together to get DT to make 10 sets. It's good to see they still will make a set just for warranty. James
  9. So you had a shop install them? Any fitment issues they complain about, Or were they a perfect fit? James
  10. There is only one hole in the intake around 2.5". four bolts but not evenly placed. Just buy one of these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-VG30-VG33-Intake-Manifold-Holley-Two-Barrel-Carburetor-Datsun-510-/181051433950?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222001%26algo%3DSIC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D4470363303270206109%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D181042899644%26 Only problem is the mounting plate is so low that you will have to cut off a couple of ears on the throttle linkage on the carb to clear the valve cover. You can use a spacer but will probably not get as much low end as with the carb lower. As for the distributor some guys left everything else like it was and let the ECU run the distributor like the injection was still there. I'm working with a company to build a modified chevy HEI distributor for a VG. They are kind of slow though. James
  11. Got mine a lifetime alignment and put some airsoft pellets in the tires, drives like a new truck! It took two days for the alignment, those young punks at firestone don't know what to do with a 25 year old truck that doesn't have eccentric bolts. James
  12. I see J30s and Q45s often in the pull a part, course now that I'm looking there won't be one for a while! James
  13. Yea I just left the yard. The 200 was front wheel drive before someone got the whole drive train! The 240 was there but it's not a limited slip differential. James
  14. What about a 240SX, anyone know what differential is under a 92? The local pull a part has one and a 98 200SX. Were the 200SX still rear wheel drive in 98? James
  15. Washed it! Took all day! The down side playing in the mud, the clean up! Had to get it up so I could get underneath with the pressure washer. There was a 1 inch thick layer of mud inside each wheel. I even had to spray the mud out of the brake rotor fins! I don't have any clean pics because it was dark by the time I finished. James
  16. After beating the hell out of it in the woods for a week and a half I gave it some much needed rest. It has been sitting for the last week, but back to work today! James
  17. I never got around to mounting mine yet but my plan is to build a battery box in the back on the passenger side for an AGM and mount the inverter on top. Passenger side because it would be a shorter run of cable from the trucks battery to keep it charged. Then I will run an outlet to the front bumper. An electric hedge trimmer sure beats the hell out of swinging a machete when clearing brush. I'll probably keep an electric chain saw in the truck too. I have a 2000w harbor freight inverter that serges to 4000w that I paid $149 for on sale. I ran a small window unit A/C off of this inverter once, it's pretty strong! James
  18. Yes the motor should be fine hanging on just the two mounts as long as your mounts are good. James
  19. I started to laugh at this comment till I remembered that I'm the same age as B. Hey wait a minute! James
  20. Come on B just admit it! The mall parking lots have just been really clean lately. James
  21. They are suppose to be ceramic coated. I did open the box and inspect them, they look awesome! They are so shinny I cant tell if they are chrome or ceramic but I'll figure it out when installing them. The ceramic will scratch very easy so tape them up before installing! I don't want to chance disabling my truck till after hunting season so I won't install these till probably February. I was hoping they would have gotten here before the season started. I know Doug Thorley has a great reputation but my luck usually runs on the crap side. One bad set in a thousand and I'll get it. James
  22. I got mine in last night too. Mine are staying in the box for now so someone needs to get theirs installed so we know they built them right! James
  23. You are better off with the new one. What most people don't know is when you machine a flywheel surface with a hydraulic clutch you must shim the flywheel on the crank the same amount or your clutch pedal will be low. Most people don't do this and fight problems with the clutch dragging while shifting. James
  24. I bought my bumper back when they were KMA. Bumper fit great but I did wait twice as long as they quoted me for delivery time. James
