You need to clean the blower motor resistor. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=7466 James

My 87 beeps every now and then. Like you it surprised me the first time it did it. James

It would just take someone that knows autocad, or another drawing program, to draw it in 3D and then just reverse the image and send it to some cam software and burn Gcode for a CNC mill. I would try but I haven't learned to draw in 3D yet. I'm sure there are some artist on this board though. James

Cool, that's what I needed to know. You found the highest safe spot. I should be plenty safe at 2.75. James

My wife's 01 Quest van has "ford" with a "nissan" stamp right next to it all over the body parts. People don't realize how much cooperation the different manufactures have. Right now you can go buy a Suzuki pick up that is just a rebadged nissan fronter. James

measure your battery area, if you have the physical room it will fit. Don't forget to check hood clearance. Otherwise you can go as big or as many as you have room for. It won't affect the electrical system unless you have more things draining them than your alternator can keep up with. How much is that diehard? Let us know if it fits I might need one like that. I still have the tiny battery that was in my pathy when I bought it. When I finally get my bumper in and install my winch I will need a larger battery. James

I wouldn't buy the X because I would have to start modding it too. Go with a small car that gets 30+ mpg. Or do like I did and buy a motorcycle, even a big one like my boulevard 109 gets 40mpg on the highway doing 80mph. I get 45 to 50mpg going 60mph. My Titan gets 18 to 19 on the highway, it's the in town that sucks at 12 to 14 depending on how many idiots on cell phones I have to pass on my 4 mile drive to work! James

Yes the tercel was a 5 speed with 4 wheel drive. Normally the front wheels would pull. When you pulled the 4 wheel lever the rear would pull also. When it was in 4 wheel drive it had an extra low gear you could use too. I drove it through a big mud hole with regular street tires on it. the front would lock too, when it was in 4x4 it was very hard to turn on dry ground. I drove it through a ditch once, I came out the ditch at a 45* angle and the front tire was 4 feet in the air before it finally came down and lifted the rear. It didn't have a whole lot of flex! I could still kick my wife in the ass for convincing me to sell it! But then I would never have bought a pathfinder!

I would have thought it was a light sensor too. Maybe it doubles for some vehicles. I have one like that on my Titan and when I cover it when putting my sun shade up the head lights come on. You guys have too much free time if y'all read the FSM from cover to cover lol! James

Lol, So I guess I'm plenty safe enough at 2.75. Mine has to be reliable because its taking me into the pinny wood hunting. I don't want to break an axle and have to walk out 5 miles after dark, we have cougars in these woods! And I don't mean the sexy older lady types. James

Using the calculations my1path posted from the service manual H=A-B What is your ride height on your WD21 set at and how are your axles holding out? I set mine at 2.75 which put it 3/4" lower than the back with some cut jeep spring (.560 wire diameter) I haven't done any wheeling yet so I'm not sure how the axles will hold up but the angle doesn't look too bad. James

Don't laugh I have done this. When I was working in fleet repair for a bottled water company I have to swap trucks out from another branch that was an hour and a half drive away. The older trucks had a governed top speed of 60mph. Holding the pedal to the floor for an hour and a half SUCKED! I used an expandable hood prop rod and wedged it between the pedal and the seat. The way I wedged it, if I went for the brake pedal I would kick the rod off of the gas pedal so it was a some what safe setup. James

Now y'all got me searching ebay for one of these I got to have one now! I had a toyota tercel that had one of these. I should have never gotten rid of that car. I have my wife to thank for convincing me to sell it to a friend that needed a car. James

+2 I want to know more about the programming, I have uprev software to reprogram my Titan. James
-
How about a little more info on this changing the rev limiter. Are you reprogramming the computer or using resistors to fool it? My pathy doesn't pull much after 3500 rpm so it wouldn't do much good to raise it but would still like to know how. James

.....my pathy is startin to blow blue smoke.....

Hey now!! Don't go raggin on chevys! Chevy makes some good vehicles, the 90 model silverado with 282,000 miles that I traded for my first titan gave me less problems than that first titan. Their motors were bad for valve seal leaks though. And the 70s model pickups were rust buckets, and the 80s models couldn't hold there paint, but the ones I had were dependable and never left me on the road unlike the ford I had. James -
your belt is slipping it must be way to loose. Tighten it up till it is tight but still loose enough to move it up and down a little. Check the tension on your other belts and tighten the A/C till it matches. James

And I thought I had tasted too many fluids! Leave it to a wrecker driver, do you guys have blind folded taste contest of name that fluid? My favorite is diesel, it's the easiest to wash out. I never tasted brake fluid! James

.....my pathy is startin to blow blue smoke.....
JamesRich replied to Kyle94's topic in General Forums
If your rings are going it will smoke when the engine is under load like when you hammer down on the throttle. When the valve guides get worn oil leaks down the valve stem when the engine is off and settles on the back of the valve or drips on the piston. It will smoke a little when you start it, and when they get really bad it will smoke on deceleration when the intake vacuum is highest. Most people will tell you that a little smoke when you start it is no big deal. When the engine is hot and this oil leaks down and settles on the back of the hot valve it can harden if the engine is allowed to cool. The more build up you get on the back of your intake valve slowly blocks the air flow going into your cylinder and will kill your fuel mileage and power. If you change the seals right when you notice it you can do it without removing the heads by airing up the cylinder and using a special spring compressor. If you let it progress you will have to remove the heads and do a total rebuild on the heads. James -
I know you said you didn't want any guesses but my best educated guess would be you turn signal switch is going out. James

Everything you read on the internet is true also! I remember these adds, I was 18 and going to school at UTI in Houston. I wanted one so bad I could taste it. Being a broke student that could hardly afford gas for my 1980 thunderbird that my parents bought me all I could do was dream. I was so broke I sometimes put 1 dollar of gas. It took me 23 years but now I got my 87 pathy, same color I dreamed of back then too. James

You were supposed to use a puller to remove that. You can get a free loaner from most auto part houses. James

I searched CL for 3 months to find an early model with a standard and ended up driving 8 hours round trip with my 20 foot trailer to get it. James

Use this formula "amps = watts divided by volts" to figure out your amperage draw. Example on a 12 volt system a 50 watt light will draw 4.17 amps from your battery. James
