i believe your correct but im not 100% on that, ive seen a few theads on rebuilding an X's rear and i think that its the same process

BF vice grips and a flat head screwdriver. take the vice grips and clamp them of the cap and wiggle then take a flat head screwdrive and get it in between the cap and the hub and it shoudl pry off pretty easily. i got mine off in less than 5 min for both sides. once you get those off make sure that youve got some O-ring or snap ring removers itll make life alot easier

Ive looked at all the post on this topic and i still cant fin dthe answer to my question. I have a 98 with the AT, does this have an intregrated tranny cooler or is it extrenal. If is it in the radiator are the lines for it at the bottom and are they the ones leading to the tranny pan. Im looking at getting an aftermarket cooler and need to know if i can use these line if they are tranny cooler lines? Thanks, Isaac

are those lights up top mounted to your cross bar from your roof rack?

i know gas mileage would be worse but E85 here is still in the $2 range and its a renewable fuel source. Another thing to thing about is that i can make my own ethanol and it would be cheaper still. Just got an email from the site that i was looking at and it would be $435 to get a conversion kit for my ride and i can remove it at anytime

Has any body thought about or heard anything about trying to convert to running their rig on E85. Im looking to see if its possible and ive found a site that might have a kit but no news back so far. If it works for my R50 im gonna skip getting new tires and get the conversion first and then get tires with the money saved from E85. Any thought, comments?

Not sure if this has been posted or not but im getting really busy and dont have time to look through all of the posts(and yes i searched) what exactly would it take to do a regear, currently i have a 98 R50 with the 4.363 and im looking at getting the 4.636 because im planning on getting bigger tires and would like to save some on gas as well. So my question is what all would it take to complete the regear, costs, supplies etc... Also is this the only option that is avaible for a rear gear of are there others? Thanks

i had the same prob as you and i got mine up to 16.5(highway) 15(city). I had a leak that i got fixed and it made a huge difference, also ive got the K&N FIPK and that has helped as long as its clean. Like the others said check the plugs, wires, filters(air, fuel), TIRE PRESSURE, etc... Ive also got warn hubs and i noticed a little difference in MPG but the biggest difference was that it coasted a lot better and the other benefits of having them. Check out drivewire.com for the O2 sensors.

i found one on ebay recently thats all ready been imported to the us from canada and im not positive but i think thats its located in oregon or washington

as for the roof rack i was looking in to getting one as well, when i was looking i found out that you dont need the bar systme to mount the basket to the roof rack. It will mount directly to the factory roof rack or at least it will on a 98. I know that the rack system is different for your year but you can always look at them at places like REI.

you can always get rebuilt cv boots or axles and the rear sway could be due to shot bushings but thats not that big of a deal. alot of people just take them all the way off. so its kinda up to you if you dont like it then get them replaced.

No it doesnt bang around the only the bangs around is the washer on the bottom of the link. I got it as tight as i could but like i said earlier its not an exact match but its better than nothing and good info on the JKS discos, that will save me some money

Rims for that color i would have to say black steel wheel, personally thats the color of pathy that i have and im in the process of saving money for new tires and rims and im gonna go black steel soft 8 rims, as for lift i have the AC 2" llift with rancho's and have no problems with it, but then again i have RS9000X in the rear which means that i can adjust the ride quality of the rear. not sure exactly what year but like 47 said there all pretty much the same im pretty sure its from an XJ . It rides fine pretty much the same as stock but now its the roght length for the lift. Ill get some pics up as soon as i get a chance.

For those of you who have the AC lift and have problems with your front sway bar links or want to get new ones i have found a replacement. They come from a stock Jeep Cherokee The front sway bar link from a the cherokee will put the bar at the right angle again, also allows for more articulation. Got mine at a local 4x4 shop for $5. They had some just sitting around. The only problem with them is that the front links are a little off set and the cherokee ones arent but its not that far off. Also there are many options for sway bar link disconnects such as the ones from JKS(some day ill have the money for them). Hope this helps.
