  3. if you take a pic of what your lookin for i can see if any JY's here have it
  4. Finally got around to changing my drive belts. Just thought that I would post up how I did it. I have a 98 XE with the VG33 Tools needed: 3/8" ratchet 3/8" extensions ( a few should do, i used two smalls and a large) 2 3/8" 14mm sockets 3/8" 12mm socket 1/4" ratchet 1/4" 12 mm socket 14 mm wrench 19 mm wrench breaker bar Parts needed: (part number from auto zone) A/C Belt (505K5) Alternator Belt (420K6) PS belt (17350) First of all it would help if you had every thing clean that you were going to be dealing with, such as belts, pulleys, etc... 1. If you have a skid plate or the plastic dust cover that covers your front components you will need to remove them. 2. You will have to work from the front to the back and then back to front. Looking at the belts from front to back (or closest to the radiator to the firewall) the belts will be in this order A/C belt Alternator belt PS belt 3. Grab the 14mm socket and the 3/8" ratchet and loosen but don't remove the bolt that holds the idler pulley on the A/C belt then take the same socket and loosen the bolt that holds the tension on the belt and loosen it enough to remove the belt 4. Use the same socket (14mm) to loosen the pulley on the alternator and then use the 12 mm socket to loosen the bolt that hold the tension on this belt, remove belt You will have to pull these belts around the fan blades, it helps of you turn the fan blades as your doing this For the power steering belt you will have to go from underneath 5. Grab the 12mm socket and loosen the this bolt and then this tensioner bolt with the 1/4" ratchet and the 1/4" 12mm socket remove the belts, if needed grab the 19mm wrench and use it to move the PS pulley enough to remove the belt. Now its time to replace the belts in reverse order that you took them off, PS, the alternator, then the AC. Before you put the new belts on make sure that there the same as the old ones. Same width, length, and rib count. 1. Put the PS belt on both of the pulleys, may have to loosen the tensioner more get the new belt on. Take the 19mm wrench and push up on the PS pulley bolt as far as you can, at the same time start tighting the tensioner with the 1/4" 12mm socket. Get this belt as tight as you can get it. 2. Feed the Alternator belt over the fan blade and over the rest of the pulleys. Grab the 14mm wrench and put it on the idler pulley and pull up. At the same time take the 12mm socket and tighten the tensioner as tight as you can get it. Then take the 3/8" 14 mm socket and tighten the idler pulley 3. Repeat the same steps for the AC belt as for the alternator belt. Start engine and check for problems. Hope this helps
  5. check a junk yard to see if they have what your looking for
  6. I know this is a stupid question but i would like to know. What exactly are the differences between a Pathfinder and a QX4 beside the "luxury" I just download the full FSM from PhatG20 for a 98 QX4 and was wondering how similar it was going to be to the one that i have for a Pathfinder. The one that i got for the pathy wasnt complete and the one for the Q was. So i would like to know if it will be any help or if I should delete it. Again sorry for the stupid question

    Belts

Ive tried to search and cant find the answer to my question. I'm going to be changing my belts: AC, Power Steering, etc... I found one of the belt tensioner but i cant find the rest of them. If anybody has any pics of these other tensioner it would be greatly appreciated. Also i have a 98 XE with the VG33, Also any tips would be greatly appreciated Thanks
  8. good enough for me, thanks
  9. i was thinking about regearing already so thats good to know. So let me see if i have this correct: to figure out how far off my spedo is i take the difference of actual MPH and Speedo MPH (New Tire Diameter / Old Tire Diameter) * Speedometer MPH = Actual MPH 30"/28.9"*60=62.3 Actual divided by reported 62.3/60=1.038 1.038*100=103.8% correction factor Then to find my actual MPG I do the following: So lets say that that my Speedo says that Ive gone 200 mile but ive actually gone 207.6 1.038 (correction factor)*200 (reported miles)=207.6 actual miles Lets say that I used 10 gallons to go that far so my MPG would be 20.76 207.6 miles/10 gallons=20.76 MPG instead of 20 MPG 200 miles/10 gallons=20 MPG Correct?
  10. is there a place on your site to see what the colors look like?
  11. yes you are missing some there are four O2 sensors, as for what bank and so on i cant help ya there but i do know that there are 4 of them suckers. There are two pre-cat and two post-cat.
  12. This is how I do it now, but for me to get the actual MPG i need to figure out how off my spedo is and then use the actual miles traveled divided by the gallons? Also now i have 4.3 gears, if i were to regear to 4.6 with 31" tires would that make the spedo and odo correct? Thanks for all the help everybody.
  13. Im planning on goin up to either 31" or 32" soon
  14. With all the recent talk of MPG I was wondering if somebody can either tell me the formula or point me in the right direction to get actual MPG. What I'm looking for is the formula that takes in to account the gear ratio, tire size, etc... I know that the mileage that I'm getting is wrong as I'm just going off of the ODO and gallons put in. Thanks Isaac
  15. that should be all thats holding it in place, just need to pull a little harder. While your at it you might as well intall an after market deck and sace your self the trouble of finding the correct wire/s to cut, just my .02

  18. Thanks for the info. Does anybody know where i can get JUST the ARMS besides the dealer?
  19. Ive only got about 65 to 70K but it had sit in a garage for about 2 1/2 years and didnt really get driven so im guessing that it could be a little dry rot? Do you have any tips on how to do this myself? Do you know where i can get some besides the dealership?
  20. thats what its doin, thanks. Is it just the rear or the front as well. If its just the rear do i have to replace both the upper and lower arms or just one or the other? where can i get them (besides the dealer) as i dont want to deal with getting the old bushing out and getting new ones in
