    On Board Air?

cool thanks for all the good info, so i still havent decided what route im gonna go i think that im gonna start with a compressor/ tank set up such as this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...4346&rd=1,1 as the price right i cant beat and everything that it comes with it seams like a good deal. If i cant win this ive thought about getting a compressor from an Air ride suspension set up will this be a good route or should i go with something like what Dean has?

    On Board Air?

Thanks for the good info XPLORx4. Acutally i was thinking about getting one of those exact models or one very similar to it. Do you recommend getting a tank to hold air or just using the compressor to fill the tires? Also vengeful i had thought about it CO2 and im convinced that it works well but im not sure that im ready to spend that much time trying to find a good tank and a company to fill it, but thanks for the input. Quick question though how many air ups do you have in your tank before you have to get it refilled and where did you get your tank?
  7. Has any installed an On board air system on their rig? If so what did you use, where did you mount it, any problems etc? Im thinking about installing on and would like some tips, pointers. The reason for this is i would like a way to air up my tires at the trail head after a fun day on the trail and inflate air matresses and such. Also would a storage tank be nessarcary or would the compressor be enough.
  8. Not sure how i would search for this so im just gonna ask here. Today i was cleaning a house for a lady that had a 97 R50 and we got to talking about random things about our rides. She made a statement that i had never heard before and i was thinking that she was full of it and so was her mechanic (at the dealership). She said that when your filling the R50s up with gas you need to stop at the click and do not round it up to the next dollar. She stated that the reason for this was that the over flow mechinsm on these models was not designed very well and that some of the gas vapors can get in to the cylinders and cause carbon build up and can eventually cause damage. When i heard this i was thinking that she was full of it but then she said that it also happened to one of her friends as well. Is there any truth to this or was the dealership just trying to get a quick buck off of her? Thanks
  9. theres alot of good info on the board just look into it
  10. just watch out for those cases and pans (oil, tranny, T-case, diff etc) also you gonaa be sitting kinda low on stock tires so just keep that in the back of you mind

  19. So heres the story i was up wheelin today and as soon as i got off the trail and back on to pavement i had some trouble with stuttering, the check engine light came on but i didnt count how many times it blinked. It then stayed on and the stuttering went away. So aftering airing up i want to checkers and had them check the code. Heres what they found. I threw a code: P0325- Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or single) P0301- Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected Pending codes: P0325- Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or single) P0301- Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected Freeze Codes: P0325- Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or single) What do these mean? I got a print out from checkers but it doesnt really say anything. They reset the code and it hasnt gone off since. Is this some thing that i should be worried about or is it nothing, just casued by wheelin. Thanks, Isaac
  20. to fit 33's your gonna need to do some pretty serious trimming, also you should check the timing belt as when these go your screwed and will have a major PITA on your hands
  21. dont know yet just installed them yesterday but ill keep every body posted
  22. heres how i did mine, ive got two sets of 100W H1's and each of them is running off a seperate harness, the first one was supplied and the second one i had to make, SaKa thanks for the idea of using the factory roof rack for a light bar. i used mine but i used a different bar than you did heres some pics this bar is one of the smaller bars the inbetween the bigger bars with the factory rack yeah i know its not the best job at hiding the wires but i dont care
