  1. Well said. I wash my Pathy underneath at least once a week, more frequently during winter what with the salt and all. I live in a town thats right on the oceanside. The only rust I have on my pathy is underneath the battery. My car isnt parked under cover, sits in all kind of weather, but I take care of it. My '78 Ford F150, on the other hand is built like a tank. I think they used the "bigger is better" idealogy when building this truck. It was my grandpa's when he bought it new in '78. He has never washed it, its never been undercover. The word that comes to mind is "rust". Box is shot... i feel unsafe stepping in it. The cab has holes in the floor and firewall. Take care of your car and it will take care of you.
  2. I think it would be pretty noticeable if I bent a wheel, and would probably change the drivability (this a word?) in the lower speeds aswell as the higher speeds. Probably a weight missing or mud on the inside. I also just noticed Im missing a center cap on the front.
  3. Whats all this 3k shifting I hear about? I redline every shift I do... j/k, only on steep uphills Since I learned stick in my Pathy, heres some advice: If he has his license already and doesnt need an instructor with him, let him go on his own and he'll figure it out. As long as he knows the basics like clutch out gas in etc. he will have it in no time. Both my parents tried to teach me, and i sucked massively. When they went to work, I took it out by myself just up and down the street for like 20min and I was getting alot better. BTW I didnt have my full license so it was kinda illegal so dont encourage that if he doesnt have his full license....
  4. Before I could drive, I used a longboard for transportation. A who?!?! A this: I have about 9-10 of these, different shapes, sizes, and uses. I used to race these bad boys. Top speed is a terrifying 110kmph (70mph). heres a few action pics, bad camera quality in some. These are all me. http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/2507/dscf0016kh5.jpg http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4040/dscf0019tn9.jpg http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/9507/dscf0018cj1.jpg These are the first race i went to. 83rd out of 140something isnt bad id say for me being a newb at that time. http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/7481/p1000029qa8.jpg http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/9595/hth3sl4.jpg ^^my board is the one thats completley black, beside the yin yang one http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/4748/topet9.jpg ^^top of the hill http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/3144/ericvx2.png ^^ me takin a rough 90degree corner at about 60km it ended up one of my good friend's took 3rd place, another friend in 8th, and another stuck in a blackberry bush good good times....
  5. Depends what duro they are. id say something like 81a would be the ticket for this.
  6. good point mz. Guess I know what Im doing tomorrow. That curb that i went over was biggger than a normal curb, but I went very slow and ona 45 degree angle so only 1 tire was going over at a time. I really really really hope its just mud hiding on me.
  7. I crawled underneath when I washed it, did all the insides of the wheels. I remember some nice "clunks" and a few "squinks" in the mud, and I did hop a little curb. I guess I'll take the wheels off tomorrow and see what trouble I got myself into...
  8. I was offroading a little bit yesterday, nothing major, mostly mud+snow. I tore that place up for a few mintues, the truck was covered in mud, couldnt see what color it was. Ok, thats great, so im pretty proud of myself gettin that dirty and I go home. Today, I drove downtown to run errands. At 80km/h (50mph) the truck starts vibrating ridiculously, steering actually going back and forth fast, you have to keep 2 hands on the wheel when it does this. The hood is also violently shaking. Its fine driving other than that, just at 50+ it does this. I thought it was mud caked in my rims, so I washed the truck at the carwash, and still did same thing on the way home. What happened??
  9. Luckily its a Nissan brand instead of Infiniti, so its a lower price. However, IIRC the price is about $60-65K. Well worth it for this car. Its up against Porsche 911, Ford GT, Bimmer M6, and a couple others, I think its going to be a top car on the strip. I personally am not getting one, im waiting for 2014 to roll around so I can get a 1999 R34 GT-R GODZILLA LIVES
  10. Here (Canada) I paid $50 IIRC for one from the dealership. My dad just bought a set for his '06 Titan, bushwacker ones. They priced at $800.00 for the full set, yea, i know, holy *&$@. He ended up getting them for $500 and I got my boss at work (bodyshop/paintshop) to only charge $100 for painting them, since I'd do all the work. There is only 2 companies im aware of that make them besides factory: Bushwacker Custom Truck
  11. At work (a bodyshop) we use a round eraser that fits into a drill, works purrfect and leaves nothing but a shiny surface my mind is drawing a blank on the name of it right now, but just go to an auto parts store and ask about a 'eraser drill attachment', if the people are good for anything, they'll know what your talkin 'bout. Also, a cheaper route would be to use a heatgun (if you have one) and heat up the stickers on letter at a time and slowly slowly slowly start peeling the letters off. If your lucky, you can get the whole thing off like this. You could always use a dab of solvent on a clean rag or better a peice of lintfree papertowel, get two peices, one with solvent and one to wipe it off right away, since you dont want to pay for a new paint job. The solvent breaks down the glue so it comes off easier. Wow, that was alot to write about on removal of some lousy stickers!
  12. Ok, after work today i just got mad and went head on into it. The weather was rainy, but that means it was warmer then yesterday since it was snowing then, so i can actually feel my toes + fingers! I got the clock, CD player to work (speaker wires mixed up, no biggie) but now i have no dash lights :sniff: i probably accidentally bumped something off when i took off the dash piece thats around the steering column, hopefully an easy fix, had to drive home from work with no tach or speedo
  13. found it, labled only "Room Lamp" on the '91. Sure enough it was blown, i guess i missed that one.
  14. Ok, just found asuper useful page from the link you posted http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Nissan-Wiring.pdf should be easy from here (knock on wood)
  15. Thanks for the site link. BTW, I cant figure out why my clock isnt working, any ideas?
  16. I know its pretty simple usually, but the PO did a nice hack job on everything, even the dash where the player sits is all hacked up for some reason. Im not sure I have time to drive all the way to Port Moody (especially with no CD player ) but thanks for offering, hopefully I will figure it out sometime
  17. Ok, a wire shorted out now my clock does not work, and my stereo still doesnt. I took all the fuses out, disconnected the bat. and reconnected it, still doesnt work, any ideas what I may have done or how to fix
  18. Ok, the PO installed a Jensen aftermarket CD player into the pathy, but now the volume button is stuck and it plays full volume, full bass, full trebble, full front fade, full left balance all the time and im gettin worried about my windows and my own health... now, I have a panasonic MP3/CD player thats out out my dad's chev that he sold to me. I figured it would be a matter of taking old one out, put new one in... not so easy, the PO obviously did not have the player professionally installed. Its a wiring nightmare. I was thinking, if I could cut the wires the are for the old CD player, and connect it to the plug in connection of the new CD player, I should have it working, correct? I have the FSM and looking at the wiring diagram, Im baffled... Am I screwed royally? Plz help.
  19. i have the SAME exact problem, thanks for clearing that up, my bat is only 1 yr old, just replaced alty about 3 weeks ago, didnt know what else to do. Sometimes boosting would work for me, but not always/
  20. We have a machine at work that you just place in front of the headlight, aim it in the middle of the headlight, look at the screen on the machine, and it tells you where to aim the headlights/highbeams. Way the hell better than parking 25 feet away from a wall and using tape. Just go to a local bodyshop and see if they have one, they probably would do it for you, we sure would, wouldnt charge any either. I love workin in a bodyshop, heated shop, not to mention madddd discounts on paint jobs and rust repair!!
  21. Welcome to winter, today we will be serving a tempature of -30 Celcius here in Squamish, ridiculously windy, roads are now paved with ice.
  22. I actually just found something for the lug nuts http://www.amazon.com/CTA-Manufacturing-Em...r/dp/B0007N201M
  23. If you ever smell burning grass... I found your problem: but in all seriousness, good work!
  24. Whatever. BTW, is it just me or am I the only one having trouble seeing the advantage of hacking a forum about SUVs?
