  2. I get white smoke when she first runs for a while, but could that be because its been sitting and hardly run for 2 years? Because I let her run for half an hour last week and it stopped and hasn't done it since. All Fluids are good.

  5. indeed, simon i guess your truck lasted roughly the same mine did, my 93 was de-plated in 2005, but she will be plated again!!!

  9. mws is right, because also when that happens, a lot more of your pathy will be $#&%ed up, and at that point it won't be worth fixing. Get it done or park it before its too late.
  10. Well taking it on some "serious backroads" in that condition isn't any better for your pathy in its current state. Just have a local shop weld it back on, and go over the rest of the frame and make sure its solid, you can do this your self with a hammer and screwdriver, post up some pics of the rest of the frame if you don't mind. Oh yeah, have you noticed what that bar connects to, other than the frame? IIRC there should be 2 links to your axle, because right now you only have 2 links left and your swaybar, and if those let go, say bye bye to your wheels, if at high speeds, that'll be a nasty accident.
  11. Well, I was quoted around 600 bucks for mine, but I have more rot behind there. I would NOT drive it like that, because that piece is what prevents your rear axle from shifting, that clunk you hear is that thing moving around when it shouldn't be, giving the axle even more play, eventually you could loose your axle, although thats in extreme cases. If the truck is in good mechanical condition, and the body rust is minimal, I'd get it fixed, and bring her home with you. I live in ottawa myself, I think there are other members here from ottawa as well, I know of one whom I've met in person. You can't kill the engine in these things, with proper maintenance of course (timing belt) Oh and is it broken on one side, or both??? AND I bet you that when that bar fell it took out your brake line that you speak of, thats what mine did. and how in the hell did your truck pass a safety inspection? I'd take it back to the place that did the inspection.
  12. hey buddy, welcome to the club, Mine is EXACTLY like that, on both sides. I wouldnt drive it on the road. Yes its fixable, I'm in the process of fixing mine. If the rest of the truck is in good shape like mine is, definitly fix it, if the wallet allows for that.
  13. umm have you checked your frame recently, like in the past week? because for me the clunking sound wasn't only a disconnected sway bar link. It was an upper link mount that fell off. Can you post some pictures of that area of your frame, and if you can, your whole frame. Might wanna go around with a ball pean hammer and find all the bad spots and have them welded....i think you get i the idea.

  19. Your frame is perfect compared to mine, where are you from, that plays a big role in how fast it rots.
  20. I hate this province, they'd probably take my pathy away then, because i plan on adding some performance mods, not for street racing though, just better milage and hp.
