  1. no, like the turbo seals blew out and lost all of that oil through the stack....and hopefully the driver caught it before the motor ran out of oil.
  2. if you don't have emissions just block off the egr.
  3. Get the JWT. JET doesn't know what the hell they're doing.
  4. ya, they're about as effective as jet ecu's. oops...did I say that out loud?
  5. well, the R50 needs 41 inch primaries to get the best midrange out of a header and still have a good top end. I don't care if it will bolt to the factory exhaust. It's all coming out anyway... If they are close to fitting I'll just have the local machinist heat them up and bend them to clear stuff. I'm only going to run 1 cat...a big one. I've come up with a few other header profiles that I can make myself, I just don't really have the time. I could go for big low end gains, midrange, or top end. The 41 inch design is the best comprimise I've come up with so far.
  6. Just wondering because there is a plethora of early pathfinder headers available. What's the problem with them on the R50? Clearance? flanging? etc?
  7. The s1 cam isn't a regrind though. Wouldn't the machining be required on a head usng a reground cam?
  8. From my understanding a MAF equipped vehicle gets better emissions and control at lower rpms and part throttle conditions. Once it goes wot a map system works better. So I'm guessing there is a switchover point somewhere where the computer pays more attention to map. Good idea on nissan's part. Now to see what it does when pressure is applied...I hope it doesn't freak out and do something stupid.
  9. oh...so it's just that caps that are from an xterra then?
  10. I have xterra wheels on my truck (98) with 31's. Only rubs one of them up front...but that's because I bent something.
  11. ok, so to the right of the engine and a little north of the intake box there is a little hitachi boost sensor. What is it for? For some reason I thought that R50's only used the maf for a/f calculations. I was originally assuming it was some kind of brake boost sensor or something, but it has metal lines that go to the intake manifold. Could someone clue me in on this thing? MAP and MAF could complicate things a little for me.
  12. You shouldn't need to mess with your injectors or your fuel pressure. The pathy injectors are large enough and the safc should let you richen it up. Pull some plugs on the lean bank and post up some pics. The bank may not be lean at all and you could have an O2 sensor screwing up. There are no base maps in the safc. Base is no correction whatsoever. You can run it fine like that. Try richening up a few of the lower rpm points around idle up 5-10%. That should smooth out your idle. From there you're going to need a wideband to see what's really going on. Richening up is pretty safe so you can mess around with the whole rpm range. You have to get into the +25% range to wash out rings. I wouldn't lean at all without having a wideband hooked up and watching the knock meter.
  13. So are you going to do the butt dyno tune or find someone with a wideband? Believe it or not, running lean (14.1:1) will make a lot of power NA. I'd shoot for a little lower like 12.5 for a nice safety margin. A hair less power, but it won't knock going uphill or get your EGT's roasting.
  14. push the pedal to the floor to put the truck in clear flood mode and crank it. Then let off and try again and it should start.
  15. http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/i...cca6caaade3294d there's the R50 rear quickies. A front one would be nice.
  16. has anyone tried using quick disconnects?
  17. So, if I disconnect my sway bars will I be able to keep more meat on the ground? With a factory ride on 31's I can crawl up most rocks, but soon find myself with two wheels off the ground and the rig teetering. haha. I really don't want to buy a lift just yet...
  18. I bet it runs like crap when warm because the ecu is in closed loop and is running the fuel leaner... Cams like a little more gas at lower rpms.
  19. so what if it's been wheeled as long as it's in good shape...I would say that half the path's on this board that have been wheeled are in better shape than a lot of the junk I've seen for sale.
  20. I wanted to get 32's to begin with...haha.
  21. you did give me 4...one of them is missing a ring and got smashed when my compressor fell over on it. grr.
  22. ethanol needs to run a different AFR than gas...so you'd need a standalone ecu to tune it. Doable though.
  23. ya, the turbo car had something like a little bitty 500cfm fan on it. (8 inch maybe?) It was kinda ghetto. It was one of those...oh, we're running too hot so we'll fix it at the last minute kinda things.
  24. ya, the truck seriously sits at least an inch higher than it did with the crappy xe wheels and tires. Maybe 1.5 inches. I dunno...but now I actually have to step up a little to get in. muhahahaha. I can't wait to run over some stuff. Oh ya, I only have 3 center caps...any guesses as to how long it takes to break the last 3? haha.
